Be sure to check the mailbox at the entrance area for a map of the grounds! The kids enjoyed walking around and seeing the historic ruins of the Sugar Mill. It was very relaxing and shaded! I'm totally into the flowers because it reminds me so much of my daddy! All of the stores and restaurants are just bursting with dog friendly love. We loved this parade and the festival also had some vendors that were pretty cool too. Afterwards, walking down the street everyone is just happy with their fur babies. We sat out at a restaurant and yes dogs galore. How could u not be happy. They had a theme of Hollywood Hounds and there were some really good ones. The costume contest also had great ones as well. So happy that I went and that they have it in cute Deland!

We went back for the first time since Ian after seeing they would be open at 10 on a Thursday. When we arrived at 10:02, it was to see that the parking lot was full with people already leaving with berries. There were rows and rows of no berries ready and we left with about 5. I definitely understand that things won't be perfect but the communication is what needs to be better. It's just not the same.

Hueys howitzers and…read moreheroes Veteran's Memorial Park in Deltona is a small park with a whole lot of interesting and poignant things to looks at and reflect on. Perhaps the first things that catches the eye is the AH-1 Huey/Cobra helicopter. Menacing and insect like, it still looks like it means business. An hundred and five millimeter howitzer as well as some huge artillery shells also are present in the park. If you look at the "street" names you will see that they are all named after famous battles from American history. However the real purpose is the park are all the plaques and monuments scattered about with the names of fallen heroes from past conflicts. A sobering reminder that the cost of freedom is not free.
