Well it didn't. I had to call another locksmith who made a key and told me it probably won't work because of tampering with the immobilizer. After he makes the key he tells me it won't work. He jumps in his car and takes off. $200 to tell me the key he just made won't work. I knew that would happen. I was mad at myself for not waiting for my favorite locksmith to return from vacation. In the middle of a job search six interviews missed I knew I had to wait for him. He came as soon as I called him and within a half hour he had the car running and even programmed an old key that he had made for me. Now I have two keys. I live several hours from my parents and I called AM&PM at 10pm tonight because my parents contacted me that they were locked out of their house as the tumbler to their front door lock was broken. Within 30-40 mins of my call to AM&PM, the locksmith, Shay Ankori, was at their house, had the old tumbler out and a new lock and key installed. I also asked them not to charge my parents but that I would pay for the work and they were very accommodating and sent me a Venmo link for payment as I didn't want my parents going to an ATM late at night for cash. I can't say how thankful I am to know that there are still kind and excellent human beings in this world. I highly recommend AM&PM.
