The quote was then way more than what we were expecting so we didn't move forward with the work. We were then told they had a $75 cancellation fee - something we were never told over the phone. I've never had this happen before. Even with our other handyman, plumbers, etc. - if you can't do the work, you don't get paid for NOT doing the work. We were told that this would cover gas expenses - why take a job that is out of your network? They knew our address well before coming out. Also, some of our intake conversations were over text, so I wish we discussed the job over photos so they knew what we wanted to do in terms of the job and give us a proper quote. Just felt very scammy and weird after them asking for money without starting the job.

My husband contacted David to route and install coaxial and ethernet cables throughout the house after reading his many positive reviews. We also wanted someone to mount TVs and install security cameras. David arrived promptly for the initial consultation where we discussed what we wanted for each room, inside the house and out. He has visited our home many times over the past couple months as our project evolved to include many other tasks: fixing electrical issues, the doorbell, and sprinkler system; installing a new smart sprinkler controller; and even installing a ceiling fan! I love Woody's Home, and let me tell you why…read more My client had a home-automation system previously installed in his house by another company. For the most part, it was fine, but any time there was an issue, it would take the company forever to get back to us and to service the problem. Also, the way they left the cords and cables hanging in the back of the equipment rack was ATROCIOUS. Just a jumbled mess of cords. Needless to say, we needed to find another company. I was referred to Woody's, and several other companies, by the regional rep for the home-automation system. When I called Woody's and explained our situation to Jimmy, I finally heard what I'd been hoping to hear...someone who genuinely wanted to help and would troubleshoot the system with us as opposed to ripping everything out and starting over...which would have cost thousands and thousands of dollars! (the other places I called only wanted to do that or else they wouldn't take us on as a new client) What struck me about Jimmy was how earnest he sounded about wanting to help and how knowledgeable and passionate he is for everything A/V. After having him and his programming specialists Mark and Ryan come out and explain what they'd do, I knew that we'd be able to expect nothing less than amazing service and a proper organization of our system. When it came time to reorganize and tighten up the system, Francisco and Mario were AMAZING!!! They had their work cut out for them...I'm not exaggerating when I tell you how tangled and disorganized the cables and cords were! You couldn't tell which cable led to which piece of equipment unless you held onto the cord and followed it with your hands, all the while trying to keep the tangled mess of other cords away and not lose the cable you're following, in the tangled mess. It was just atrocious how the previous company "finished" the installation. A good lesson in getting what you pay for. Francisco and Mario went above and beyond in reorganizing the system. It's so beautiful now! The RCA cords are all color coded, as are the power cables, the network cables, etc. There's a beautiful box where the cables are all connected that has proper labels on them...no more exposed hole in the wall with cords spilling out willy nilly! Francisco and Mario were both very professional, respectful and courteous and made sure everything was thoroughly tested before leaving for the day. There was an art to what they did. Woody's Home is awesome. You can tell these guys only ever want to do an outstanding job and will go above and beyond to make sure all expectations are met. Aside from the amazing job they do with the technical aspects of it all, I truly valued how I was treated as a client and as a woman. There was no hint of anyone trying to patronize me or talk over my head when I didn't understand something. There was only respect and a genuine desire to help.
