Great options for take and bake. Waaay overpriced. I can't believe they get business with Walmart/Sams/Aldi/Woodmans in the neighborhood.

I have always wondered why people who actually have nothing good to say about a business just don't keep quiet. I have read all the 1, 2, and 3 star reviews and actually find them very funny and kind ot stupid. I found this to be the best grocery store I have ever seen/been in. No 1 I save gas at kwik trip/star. No. 2 this place has the one item that I will drive 100 miles for, great customer service. Every staff member I came in contact with was smiling and asking if there was anything they could help me find and yes there was, Sushi! I love sushi and they have lots of it. My pedometer said I walked over 2 miles covering the whole store. They have everything I wanted. They are a little high priced on some items for what you get, although I found the quality worth the price. Wal-Mart has a lot of the same items and if you read the labels like I do you will discover that the price per is no different than Festival Foods. At Wal Mart it's the hidden price you have to look for. At Festival Foods You don't have to look, it's right there in fromt of you. The best thing is that all the items I bought cost me $11.00 less than they would have at Wal Mart. Plus I saved money on gas at kwik trip. Now tell me all you naysayers, What's not to like about Festival Foods. Now if I had 5 thumbs they would be all up for this place. Just came back from Festival. They have great fresh veggies, solid organic produce, and an outstanding meat department. You won't go wrong getting ingredients for your meals here. Also, they have real human cashiers and people who bag your groceries. They are also open late! Great service, this is the only place we go now. read more

I just got back from Festival Foods on Copeland Avenue (I grew up in La Crosse went to Logan High School and family has contributed to this area through k-12 and University teaching positions for decades), my neighbor is a Festival employee many of my friends shop there. Today I was not pleased about an incident that I witnessed in the store and the way that the employees handled it I assume due to the way that they are being trained. Around 3 p.m. I went for my biweekly shopping trip picking up sushi and I noticed a young man put back a small package of sushi that his body was asking for (nutrients). It was obvious that he wasn't at the Bank section in the store stealing or stealing from the Liquor section (non essential) he was there in the main section of the store because he was poor and actually hungry. At the self checkout I saw him rush out (potentially harming in the rush older customers hopefully not causing a lawsuit) leaving an item rather hurriedly while an undercover asset retention Festival employee and another employee chased him quietly out of the store. I talked to Nicci at the Customer Service desk right after (none of my solutions were taken seriously or that it would be discussed with to a manager or a person in power at Festival) I checked out and suggested a longer term solution for the safety of it's guests and long term customers like me.... I suggested 2 solutions in alignment with Festivals Community Involvement values. Without helping the "poor and needy" and as a community offering them better choices they will inevitably turn to crime and stealing costing businesses lots of money in asset protection a "short term solution" to safety and happiness for the La Crosse community.. 1) Offer a donation/perishable goods box upfront was my first suggestion up front like many other large Food stores do across the United States of America 2) Use Compassion as a weapon for good. Give these "offenders" another choice by offering them job stability, a chance to integrate into our community and offer value back into it, stable income and a chance to create stable and safe conditions for themselves so they don't turn to crime which obviously hurts the community and introduces violence and crime into the La Crosse area. So I ended up calling Festival and Nicci picked up. I asked for a manager and she told me he was out and didn't have his info or schedule but just his name. Doug Zumach. I will be attempting to contact him to discuss this matter and If I don't get a response I will discuss actions with the Neighborhood association and Police Liason to see if We including Festival as a COMMUNITY can come up with a better solution long term. read more

This is a standard Festival store with the warehouse type feel. I particularly like the salad and hot-food bar here. For the location, though, I was surprised the hot-food bar wasn't larger. The Friday fish is pretty good even though I'm not a fan of fried food that's been sitting out. If you're looking for a quick ready-made main course, or a side salad to go with it, this place will do the trick. Overall, what I like about Festival is the ease of navigating around the aisles. Unlike some stores, the aisles are wide enough for two carts to pass each other. read more

Only had two checkouts with you bag open. All the rest was self checkout. As I'm bagging my side, they start spraying the conveyer belt next to me until its wet, never offering to help bag my groceries, but then set my bread on top of this wet conveyer belt. What the h-ll? Then see people waiting in line, with employees standing around. We need to get Dave back. He knew how to run a store. What happened to the old curtious caring grocery store where the workers would go out of there way to help customers. Very surprised and disappointed. Not the festival we were used too. I'll go elsewhere to spend my $300 dollars. read more

I was there the other day at 7am (24 hour access) in hopes to finish my marketing assignment which was to find 20 products that had "new!" On the product. I also planned on buying a few miscellaneous things. After walking around, I was asked if I could be helped. I explained my situation and the stocker in the aisle helped me immediately spot 4-5 things. What great customer service. I did not feel uncomfortable or felt "shoo-ed" away. The fact she helped me complete my assignment faster, I left with my produce as a happy customer. I generally shop at Walmart or SAMs Club for groceries (farther from my house on 10th and badger) but with Festivals customer service and other good qualities, they'll be seeing me more often. I'm also a very big spender on groceries, so I'm glad they didn't judge "a book by its cover". A lot of businesses tend to do this, and it royally angers me. read more

Good selection of foods and other groceries, kind and helpful staff, sometimes they have pretty good deals, but for the most part the prices can get to be a bit on the expensive side. Also, the portions of most products can also be a bit small for the quite large price tag. Overall good, but not the best. read more

I take back my comment about Festival having the best selection of booze at the best prices within 100 miles. I visited Woodman's Food Market yesterday (I-90 and hwy 16 in Onalaska), and Woodman's has a slightly greater selection of booze at ever-so-slightly-better prices. read more

I dunno. This place reminded me of a small town IGA from the mid 90's. If you need booze, that seems like a safe bet (there was a HUGE selection). Anything else? I'd find another place. read more

Can only comment on the Festival Wines & Spirits part of the store, as we didn't shop in the grocery section. They have a great selection of Wisconsin made wines and beers, which are price competitively. They offer a 10% discount on wine if you buy six or more 750 mL bottles. We will definitely stop here when in La Crosse in the future! read more

Went to the liquor store side. Nice selection, prices are on the high side in my opinion. Employees friendly and helpful.

Great store! Yes, it is your standard modern Grocery with attached liquor department. But, the people that work there make it great. I shop weekly for just a few minutes, but they recognize me and welcome me there. I do not know a single one of them outside the store, so I think they treat everyone well. The Bakery is very helpful and I can always smell the great baked goods from the parking lot. I highly recommend! read more
