Delicious! Order at the counter pickup at the window. The Root Note is a modern cafe with delicious food options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is brightly lit and although the ceilings are very high up it's not too noisy to chat with a friend.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A place with many personalities, this spot blurs the line between coffee shop, restaurant, and bar. Plenty of seating to spread out and work during the day or stop by for trivia with your friends at night. Food is worth stopping in. Just order a bit extra and some items are a bit on the smaller side. The winter beat salad is fresh and delightful. The grilled cheese is layered between beautifully baked and soft bread. And I enjoyed the berry jam bar for dessert - they all looked amazing and it was hard to choose.

Went with a group of 5 and we were all very impressed by both the food and drinks. I was grateful for the vegetarian/vegan section of the menu. My brother kept saying how amazing the biscuit sandwich was. Service was friendly and quite fast considering how busy they were because of a parade that morning.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]A cool spot to grab coffee in the downtown La Crosse area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Sincr it's downtown, you will need to find street parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Atmosphere was really chill, the dining area was spacious and gave me an industrial, hipster vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Since it was cold out, I ordered a hot peach blossom white tea. Excellent tea, very fragrant, low astrigency. I would have loved to order some food, but apparently since it was a Monday they had a limited food menu due to low staffing (this was not listed on their website by the way so keep that in mind), so I just enjoyed my tea. Prices were comparable to other coffee shops and large chain coffee shops. Service was casual but friendly.

The root note was the perfect place to stop for a little lunch and coffee. I was blown away by how tasty and cool their ube tea latte was and was equally impressed by the biscuit sandwhich. I upgraded the sandwhich to included mushrooms and onions and I'm so glad I did because the mushrooms were so tasty and complimented the sandwhich so well! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is huge, food came out very quick, and the service was excellent![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will definitely be stopping in again soon to try some more of their inventive coffee drinks.

The Root Note is more than just a coffee shop- it's a hub for the community. The beverage and food menu emphasize creative and carefully sourced ingredients that elevate every bite and sip. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The warm and welcoming atmosphere of the Root makes everyone who walks in feel at home.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a great spot to catch up with friends, work on your laptop, or get inspired by the local artists handing on the wall or performing in the stage.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't say enough good things about the Root

Got a vanilla matcha and it's definitely made my top 5 list. They also had vegan bakery items!! So happy about that. Plenty of indoor seating and the bathroom is tucked away in a corner. I always wonder what to give a coffee shop for a score when they are out of your drink…read more Last week Thursday morning, I ordered a large black cold brew of which I was told they were out. Now I am a 30 year black cold brew snob and love going to a different independent coffee house to try its unique flavor as everyone does it slightly different. After my dang, I should have just tried another location in town, but she asked if I would like to purchase a nitro instead which they had in tap. I reluctantly ordered it just to keep the line moving and also a scone which was very tasty and inexpensive at $2.00. I took one sip of the nitro and crushed the scone. I sat in the coffee shop for an hour getting some work completed and it looked like a steady flow of customers. Nice ambiance Good Service Solid scone Lack of my coffee drink Overall 3 because it is a coffee shop and cold brew is on the menu

Our hike ended…read moreearly so we popped in here around 10:30 on a Sunday morning and were surprised we could get a table right away (was crowded but there were a couple of tables for large groups). Cate G was an excellent server and totally not ruffled by our large group. It was no problem when we asked for separate checks - she just asked that we not play musical chairs! We were chilled from our hike so the tumeric antioxidant tea with honey (extra charge) and lemon hit the spot. We had only planned on staying for a warm beverage before heading out to lunch elsewhere but the food menu enticed us so we decided to stay. The menu offered food I love as a vegetarian! I had the Ancient Buddha Bowl with farro (quinoa is an alternative). Tumeric toasted cauliflower, roasted sweet potatoes, beets, sumac roasted chickpeas, crisped kale/brussel sprouts mix with a lemon tahini dressing. So much goodness in a bowl!! There were so many other choices but if I were to eat here again, I would try the housemade vegan burger or one of their salads. It was a bit noisy with so many people but not so that our group was not able to enjoy conversation. Family friendly with a kids corner stocked with toys.

Everything was "ok." Service was really good but music was an odd choice for 8:00 am. The coffee…read morewas ok - had better, had much worse. Food was about the same - no complaints just nothing special.
