Down the line, our 3 selections & split em. We were seated within 20min of arrival. Our wait staff was friendly & efficient. Food came up in a reasonable time & everything was great, ESPECIALLY the sandwich the hubs got. Hands down the beat dish we had on this trip. We stopped in for a quick breakfast. Orders are placed at the counter and delivered to your table. I got the Madame & Pepe breakfast sandwich. It was made with grilled shaved ham, sunny egg, parmesan creme, on a Fayze's croissant. It was also served with a mixed green salad with a vinaigrette dressing. We have been to the Damn Tasty at least 10 times and always raved to anyone who would listen about the food, cozy but hip atmosphere and table service. They offer dishes that are not commonly found in our area such as Turkish on Toast (my favorite version of Turkish eggs) and they put a nice finesse on some commonly found dishes such as their Tuna Nicoise. Due to staffing shortages and other stresses on restaurant businesses, they changed their model from being seated and served then paying at the register after the meal to now ordering and paying at the register before you're seated. I'm back on the road again, looking for some of the best food and drinks throughout the midwest! The first stop was La Crosse, Wisconsin, where I was able to catch up with a good friend of mine. When we were talking about where to go for lunch, she said she had heard all about this restaurant, but hadn't been. With the name like The Damn Tasty, we figured we better check it out and see if it lives up to its name. It was a little hard to find because they don't have the most obvious sign directing you to their space in the strip of shops and we did have to put our name on the waiting list, but as you can see, it was WELL WORTH IT. The staff was really friendly and while the space was cozy, the decor and ambience was really great. The menu was fairly limited with some breakfast options and lunch options, but you could tell that the menu was curated and it was limited because they focused on doing everything well. Let's get down to the food... We ordered the Kimchi Toast with kimchi cream cheese, thick cut bacon, fried egg, chili crisp, dressed greens, grilled sourdough. Honestly, this was 10/10. A little messy to cut up, but holy cow the flavor... Bánh Mì Burger with a potsticker pork patty, pickled veggies, shaved cucumber, garlic mayo, chili crisp, cilantro, fried egg, seeded roll! Another one of their best sellers and I can see why. Finally, we had the French Toast with blueberry compote, lemon curd, honeyed whipped cream, cinnamon crunch. The food was good. I went with some friends for brunch and I would recommend arriving early. We arrived not too long after they opened, 9 a.m., and there was a line already. I didn't keep track of the time, but we did wait for a good amount of time before we were able to get to the front of the line. Their process is ordering the food and paying ahead of time at the counter and we can go find a seat afterwards. They do bring the food to us but they're not a typical restaurant where they would serve all the food together, which was fine with me and my group. My friends were raving about the Kimchi Toast and I didn't believe them so I ordered the Bada Bing sandwich. This sandwich was still good, but the Kimchi Toast was much better. I did order a side of the Kimchi cream cheese to dip my chips in, and that main ingredient was very tasty. The place was quite small, with very limited seating. I would say, coming in with a big group is not recommended. I did see couples sitting with other people due to the limited seating. Overall, the wait is long and not much seating but I would definitely go back though, for their Kimchi Toast. read more

I do very much enjoy this spot! The food and service are amazing! Not to mention the coffee is fantastic as well. My only gripe is the odd hours! They're only open a few days out of the week! And if you come too close to closing you can't get anything to go. Regardless, the food is absolutely amazing! The spot itself if cozy, though a little loud. I'm a huge fan of Jimbos hash! What fun spot to find in La Crosse! Visiting the area, there was no recommendation, just did a search and decided to cross our fingers! Their menu is innovative and fresh! The staff was kind and courteous. Food was DELICIOUS. I got a beermosa cause why not!!! Would've loved a selection of beers to sub than Miller Light (but I'm probably just a snob for craft beers ) It was still all the same delicioso! For my main course, I got the kimchi and... just YES. Never would I think to eat kimichi for breakfast, not put on toast, nor put it with cream cheese?? Just yes yes yes. I should've ordered a second one? The quality and portion size of the food is very good and worth the price. The service was friendly and informative. There was a slight wait for a table on Sunday around 0930. We sat outside on the back patio and the atmosphere was nice. There were three of us and we each had a sandwich and all three were delicious! I also had a cup of the soup which was outstanding. We will plan on coming again because we want to try almost everything on the menu. read more

The name says it all! We stopped by with a large party and wanted to sit outside with our pups! The damn tasty was able to accommodate us and have fun picnic tables out back. Perfect to enjoy the summer weather. We ordered the Turkish eggs and the ham hash. Both were delicious. The poached eggs were not runny unfortunately but still extra tasty. We were given a wait estimate of 25 minutes, and seated an hour later. Mushroom Shawarma was excellent. Tomato bisque soup was just okay. Veggie version of their breakfast sandwich was made with good ingredients, but the thing was messy and difficult to eat. The French toast with maple syrup was fine, but when butter was requested, it was served cold and hard. A side of two scrambled eggs was also served cold, on a cold plate, and the eggs were wet from condensation caused by sitting too long. Their hot chocolate is just slightly-flavored chocolate milk. We were greeted with an open table for 7 on Easter Sunday. Service was perfect. Just enough attentiveness but not too much. We had plenty to drink. The food was awesome!! The flavor was just right. Excellent food and good service for the most part. Served quickly but then asked to leave literally within minutes of us finishing our food. We hadn't finished our coffee and we were there less than 30 minutes. Lady said there was a wait so asked us to give up the table. There was one person waiting at the door, no one outside and there were people that had been there longer than we were there. I had a hard time choosing what to eat because each item sounded delicious. I enjoyed a wonderful sandwich packed full of flavor. The atmosphere made me enjoy all these things even more!
