After my cat enjoyed a play date last week with two of his buddies (and former foster kitties),…read moredecided I had to buy this cool toy that had been brought over for sharing by the other cats' owner. Searched on the internet and Petco.com had it - added bonus, it was on sale. Ordered the toy and marked it for pick-up at the local Mount Pleasant store. I love that feature! Secure the item and pick it up next time I'm out. Received my email from Petco.com saying my order was ready, and it such a simple process. Go in, show them the email on my phone, give my name, and voila - the item is pulled from their cabinet up front (very close to the front door and quick), and I am on my way. Added bonus is getting to see the cute dogs who come in for grooming.

The first time, I called ahead to make sure everything was in order before driving to my appointment. When I arrived, I was told my dog's rabies vaccination was out of date. No one mentioned this during the phone call, and because my vet was already closed, there was nothing I could do except leave and waste my trip. After updating everything, I scheduled another appointment and again called beforehand to confirm there would be no issues. I specifically made sure to bring proof of the rabies vaccination with me. When I arrived, I informed them that my dog takes Prozac daily for separation anxiety. They then refused service, claiming they could not groom dogs taking Prozac. This made no sense. Their website states restrictions regarding sedatives such as Trazodone, but Prozac is not a sedative--it's a daily prescription medication for anxiety. Instead of clearly explaining their policy, Jerry and another employee seemed unable to find the actual policy and were trying to reference unrelated documents. The entire interaction felt disorganized and unprofessional. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of accountability. No one apologized for the inconvenience, despite this being the second time I had called ahead specifically to avoid issues and the second time I wasted my time driving there for nothing. At this point, I have no confidence in this grooming department. If staff members can't accurately communicate or understand their own policies, it doesn't inspire trust in the quality of care they provide. Very disappointing experience, and I will not be returning.

I moved my 2 dogs to this vet after having a bass experience with the forever one…read more Although I came in today when they were super busy, they greeted me with a smile. When I got my dog settled in the second front desk person asked if I had been helped, which I had. Then the vet tech took us into a room and asked why we were there. We wanted a re-check because our dog has recently been treated for bacterial and worm problem. She was still having loose stools and we wanted to make sure that the problem was gone. We also wanted to find out if she needed thyroid because she has lost all of her hair since we moved here. The vet tech said that she could draw blood and test it while we waited if that's what we wanted. Or we could leave and she could call us with the results. I thought that giving us a choice was awesome. She also asked if we wanted to see the vet, or if she could take care of us. I thought that was really nice because my husband and I are on a budget, and it probably costs more if you see a vet. In any case, we didn't really need to see the vet, and the office was pretty busy, so we declined. We had opted to wait for the test results, in case we needed to buy more medicine. We didn't want to have to come back. Also, even though this vet will give us prescription that we can take anywhere, we don't mind buying our prescriptions here, because they are so nice. That wasn't true with the other vet. We did not want to buy our prescriptions from him, and he actually chose to charge us $25, to give us a prescription so that we could buy our flea medication online. All in all our two experiences here were great.

But zero response from them about their rampant overcharges, however. (I was charged $100 for a technician to spend less than one minute, literally, just to administer a shot.) Reveals a lot about them. I.e.: Only give them 5 star reviews - or else. N.B. I had informed them I was terminating my substantial business with them well BEFORE I left any review of them and also well BEFORE they "informed" me not to return. So again their irrelevant response- from Mark K (who on earth is that??) is quite revealing

We were rushed…read morein because the vet assumed our cat was a male- thank you for that concern, but poor job on their part for assuming. Buckwalter is quite literally negligent, incompetent, rude and clearly only cares about money. Poor client communication, poor management, poor customer service. But then it just spiraled downhill- care was given within 5 min without pricing info and consent which ended up being $350 (astronomical) Then we had to go back 2 weeks later due to no information and the issue coming back. Dr. Iyer relinquished his "voice" to his office manager Marlee who is one of the most unprofessional and rude office staff we've ever dealt with in the entirety of having animals- We tried to reach out to Dr. Iyer to where he blocked the email thereafter- if that's the case- remove your email from your website. If you must go here- only see Olivia and Dr. Rushing. Otherwise- steer clear. You'll leave with no answers, incompetent front office staff communication and a massive bill. I'm absolutely mind-blown at my experience for a "luxury" facility. This place is a complete disaster and takes advantage of all of the Sun City people. Either way, avoid at all costs.

So I call for an appointment and get in within a reasonable amount of time. Once I arrived my poor cat in his carrier is out numbered by all dogs waiting. Luckily for us they get us into a room. There we are seen at first by an assistant who takes my cat in the back to clean his ears. Since he has breathing issues they had to give him air. I would have preferred to have had the option to be with him so I could keep him calm so he wasn't needlessly stressed. They gave me eardrops and a bill for $220. which included the required rabies shot for an indoor senior cat. Makes zero sense but they say it is a state requirement. When we got home I was unsure if they even medicated his ears there so I had to call them. Let's see how future visits if any, work out. So far at least the shot didn't kill him but he had a difficult night. Not in love with this place. Definitely would prefer a place that was more cat centric.
