This may get lengthy! If I could leave no stars, that's exactly what I would do. To start, we've…read morebeen with this vet since 2019 and my family has been with them since the early 2000's. My dog was dealing with a few things so we called to make him an appointment. While making the appointment it was never mentioned we would be charged an emergency fee. We accepted the appointment given! Right there, they are knowingly taking people for their money. It was stated from the very beginning that we couldn't afford a high vet bill and to communicate any excess cost prior to doing any tests. Upon picking our dog up, we were given the total. It was a total of $410.25! My husband was able to pay part of that and that we would pay the remainder by the end of the week. When he got home, he said he has never felt so belittled and like he was something they stepped in because of the way they treated him. I receive a phone call today so I ask why we were charged an emergency fee when it was never stated that a fee would be charged. Their response while laughing was "Well you signed the paper." No where on the paper did it state "You will be charged an emergency fee" on top of a $15 dollar "day" fee. Mind you, if they said "If you accept the appointment for this day, it will include an emergency fee, but if you take an appointment next week, it won't." My husband and I have never felt so belittled by a business in our lives. The lady I spoke with said "I have 12 people that have mortgages, 2+ cars, can go buy groceries etc." We never said we weren't going to pay our balance. By the end of our phone call I requested our dogs medical records to take him elsewhere. When I went to pick them up, I told them their disrespect was the reason for going elsewhere and the response I got was "What you give is what you get." Moral of the story, take your pets anywhere other than here. Not one but two of the women working at the counter were nasty and disrespectful! For 4 years we have considered finding a different vet but have continued with South Shore due to being close to them. We're talking about a black lab, the most infectious, happy dogs has acted very skidish since we picked him up. This wasn't just this specific visit that they have been nasty, it's been many years of this! Now we will drive an hr for better care and it's cheaper! We are completely content with that! Our only regret is not doing so sooner! Then on top of it all, I get home and they didn't even give me all of my dogs records! I have informed those that I know that take their animals to said business and they won't be returning! To add, this was the Dr's wife that treated me like this! Keep that in mind when you decide where to take your pet(s)!! I'm not one to leave reviews, I forgive and forget but not this time! It is not about the best interest of your pet(s) here, it's about how much money can they get!

During the pandemic, Dr. Bhuyan came to our house when no one else would. That was December 2020. This week, November 16th, 11 months later, we had to let go of Blazer. If not for Dr. Bhuyan, Blazer would not have seen 2021, nor his 15th birthday. These last months have been etched in our brains. Blazer earned the name, Good Dog Blazer a long time ago. GDB. A stream of visitors have come by this last week to say farewell. GDB has people across the country wishing him luck in his next life. He was a companion like no other. I am 71. We have had dogs all our life. Good ones! GDB was the best. Dr. B bought GDB 11+ months more of life. My wife and I were his caregivers. Our house served as GDB's assisted living. It has been our pleasure and honor to have served him, not just for his fun, long, and loving youth, but in his old age too. GDB has been the center of our world. Our days and nights have revolved around him for these last 11 months. When the final day came, as certain as it would, Dr. Bhuyan came to our house. Blazer's last moments, his exit from this world, were peaceful, calm, and with the full honor and respect he deserved. Dr. Bhuyan understood our needs as well as Blazer's. We will probably never find another dog to fill this void in our hearts. But if we did, Dr. Bhuyan would be our only choice for a vet. His kindness, calm demeanor, his love for animals shines through like no vet I've known. GDB was served well by this great vet and wonderful man, Dr. Shanti K. Bhuyan.

Shy always panics at the vet and they offered to euthanize her in the car. I was given extra time with her and not rushed. When the time came Shyla left this world on her favorite blanket in my arms while I scratched her ears. She never knew and that means so much to me. I have been through this before and seen vets cold and heartless, forcing a dog to wear a muzzle or rushing without compassion. I would recommend this vet as the best I have ever seen in my 71 years with countless dogs (and one cat). My best friend left peace and that brings me comfort
