The story was at times difficult to hear but she told it sensitively and took time for questions at each stop. Even though the tour might sound intimidating at 8 miles and 2.5 hours, it was very manageable for those who had not been on a bike in a long time. We would ride about 10-15 minutes between stops in the shade. The other guide, Toby, was also top notch, keeping all of us safe as we navigated the streets. Everything was handled professionally. This tour takes you to a lot of places in Midtown that I would've never seen before but now I want to experience these places as well. I've never been to Piedmont Park and I will be going back to visit. But the tour guy was amazing. He knew a lot on the tour and I will say he knew all of our names. It's hard to learn one person's name, but having to learn that seven people that were on the tour and being correct every time it was impressive. They give you a helmet and teach you from the beginning how to ride, slow down, come to fast stop so you are comfortable before you even start the tour. I absolutely enjoyed every moment of it. I highly recommend you take this tour if you're ever in Atlanta.

Our group of four booked a Segway tour weeks in advance and arrived as scheduled, only to be told upon arrival that the tour could not proceed because their tour guide was unavailable that day. We were informed that they had attempted to notify us the day prior, while we were in transit, but no meaningful effort was made to ensure we actually received that message. A voicemail was left while in transit that only gave the name of the person to call back. We did respond message the company back but no message of details was sent to us. There was no information given us that the tour had been cancelled and there was no effort by the company to call us back this morning to indicate the tour was canceled. Instead this company allowed us to show up. When we showed up this morning, the office was dead quiet. The one staff easily could've contacted us before we arrived, to have allowed us to make alternate plans. As a result, we showed up expecting a confirmed booking. While an apology and refund were offered, that is the minimum one would expect in this situation. There was no attempt to find a replacement guide or propose an alternative solution, despite the significant inconvenience caused. What was most concerning, however, was how the situation was handled. As we calmly discussed next steps among ourselves, we were unexpectedly told that we were making the staff member, Sammi, "uncomfortable". Despite the fact that even though we were highly disappointed we remained polite and measured. We were then asked to leave, and the door was locked behind us, which felt offensive as well as entirely unwarranted given our demeanor. She should've called us that morning and if anything that would possibly be why she was uncomfortable because of her own mistake. Our disappointment was warranted and we were not in any way aggressive, moreover never have any of us been called that. It's preposterous that her mistake, resulting in our disappointment and regrouping could be attributed with making her uncomfortable. She could have a higher tolerance for customers and customer service vs blaming validly disappointed customers for frustration which she caused. We are reasonable, respectful customers and simply expected clear communication and a basic level of customer service. Unfortunately, neither was demonstrated here. I would not recommend relying on this business if your plans depend on them.

I knew from these reviews I wouldn't be disappointed: after a storm that cancelled our first attempted bike tour, Nedra was very flexible and great in communicating with us another opportunity to ride, and took us on an exciting ride detailing Atlanta's contribution to the civil rights movement, in particular the black liberation movement of the 1950s and 1960s. These experiences and authentic conversations have never been more important than today, and were the highlight of our Atlanta trip. I booked the Atlanta History Tour with Nedra pretty last minute for a birthday celebration. She was very accommodating for scheduling and provided an AWESOME tour. It is both refreshing and inspiring to meet someone who truly enjoys their job and brings such a great energy. Nedra has definitely found her calling! The tour started over at the Spindle. We met there and then took off to our first stop. I was extremely nervous as a beginner biker but Nedra assured me that everything would be ok. Once I got over my nerves, I actually started to have fun! We rode on the street and on trails (but never on the sidewalk because that is illegal. Who knew?) We stopped along the way at various locations where Nedra discussed the history with us. She was so knowledgeable it was crazy!! She knew the story of building architects, community meetings that discussed actions of the location, events, articles that mentioned the buildings, the artists that created the street art, etc. I learned SO MUCH and best of all it was FUN! Before ending the tour, we made our way down to the beltline for a popsicle to celebrate my friend's birthday. It was such an awesome treat! We even got lucky enough to stop and see a live band playing under the bridge. Nedra was so cool about letting us stop to enjoy the scene for a little bit. We ended up going over our time and never once did she rush us to get back. I am truly impressed by the level of knowledge, professionalism, and candor provided during the Civil Bikes tour. I am looking forward to scheduling a small private group for a bike safety & confidence class. If you are considering a tour with Civil Bikes DO IT!

One of the things I didn't realize is that what I thought I wanted turned out to not be the best fit for me. That was why it was so nice to be able to try out several bikes. I wound up buying something very different from what I initially anticipated. The selection was great, and they were able to offer practical solutions and suggestions based on my concerns, and the bike I wound up with is perfect for me. It's a big investment, so take your time looking through the bikes and trying them out. But the good news is that the service and support come with the price tag, so once you pull the trigger you'll have lots of support.

It was cold and windy that day; luckily, the trolley was heated, and the weather did not affect the tour. This tour is a great deal, priced under $40, to get a detailed overview of the main neighborhoods in and around Atlanta. These days, you will pay a lot more to drive around in an Uber or Lyft, and you won't get a tour guide giving you the history behind the landmarks you will see. The only stop made on this tour is at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center. You will have some time to explore the Center, but not enough to see everything in this area. Ebenezer Baptist Church is next to the Center, and the trolley drives by MLK Jr.'s birth home. At the time I visited, the home was temporarily closed for renovations. For a more in-depth tour of the neighborhood, you will need to return on your own.
