I signed up for the 90 Minute Trolley Tour of Atlanta. The trolley is located outside the Hilton Garden Inn on the corner of Baker Street and Marietta Street. It was cold and windy that day; luckily, the trolley was heated, and the weather did not affect the tour. This tour is a great deal, priced under $40, to get a detailed overview of the main neighborhoods in and around Atlanta. These days, you will pay a lot more to drive around in an Uber or Lyft, and you won't get a tour guide giving you the history behind the landmarks you will see. The only stop made on this tour is at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center. You will have some time to explore the Center, but not enough to see everything in this area. Ebenezer Baptist Church is next to the Center, and the trolley drives by MLK Jr.'s birth home. At the time I visited, the home was temporarily closed for renovations. For a more in-depth tour of the neighborhood, you will need to return on your own. read more

I was in Atlanta, taking my 80 year old father to a couple Braves games. I had exhausted what little plans I had for him and myself, so I was looking for something low-key so he didn't have to walk too much (or at all, as we walked quite a bit during our previous two days). I found The Peachtree Trolley while doing a search of things to do in Atlanta. I figured this would be the perfect excursion for him and it was. Shauna (sp?) and Glenn were great hosts. Shauna was very informative as we drove through the downtown and surrounding areas. I would use this tour as a guide to discover the city and find places you may want to check out in more detail if you have additional time or plan for future visit (as I'm now doing for myself and wife). I had no idea Atlanta had so much to offer, as this was mainly a father/son trip, focusing on baseball. We did stop for 10 minutes at the MLK Jr gravesite (King Center) so we could walk around and explore a for a short time. While driving around the city, you can take pictures from the trolley, but it can be tough as you are on a moving vehicle and trees seem to be everywhere and often jump out and ruin your photos. We booked a chartered trolley from The Peachtree Trolley Co. for our wedding. Our wedding planner made the arrangements. The trolley provided transportation for our wedding party and our wedding guests to and from our hotel and wedding venue. Our hotel was the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta and our venue was the Atlanta History Center and Swan House. From my perspective, I thought The Peachtree Trolley was great. My groomspeople and I had a fun time riding on the trolley from our hotel to the venue. As far as I could tell, the trolley was in excellent condition, inside and out. It was beautiful. My wife wanted a white trolley to match the theme of our wedding and The Peachtree Trolley was able to provide one. My wife and her bridespeople had a good time on their trolley ride as well. However, I heard from our planner that The Peachtree Trolley wasn't so great. Out of all of our wedding vendors, it was the only one that disappointed. I didn't ask for details, but what I did hear was that our planner and her assistants had problems with the driver and perhaps other aspects of the service (I just don't remember). Again, from my perspective, I thought our driver was fine. She seemed polite and friendly enough. She took the wonderful photo of my groomspeople and me aboard the trolley before we departed for the venue. So, I had no idea there was trouble "behind the scenes." Being the bride and groom, I'm sure our planner and guests (if they noticed anything) shielded my wife and I from any negative experiences. On our wedding day, I think the trolley may have been late to pick up guests at the hotel. I'm not sure. I know for my groomspeople and me, the trolley seemed a little "late" to pick us up from the hotel after making its first trip to drop off my wife and her bridespeople at the venue. My wife did tell me the driver was confused exactly where to drop off my wife and her bridespeople at the History Center. My wife and her bridespeople were dropped off at the Swan House while my groomspeople and I were dropped off next to the museum. That all was fine with us. My wife spoke with Shauna on the phone regarding payment for our wedding charter. Shauna was very nice. We booked the private wedding charter for eight hours, from 3:30pm to 11:30pm, for a total of $2,200 in April 2022. This compared to $1,750 for the Roman Rose trolley, booked through Georgia's Rome Office of Tourism (quote/contract received in April 2020). We originally booked the Roman Rose, but had to switch to The Peachtree Trolley Co. I don't have nor remember all the details why, but it might have had to do with an ownership change or change in service or things like that. I did notice the 2022 Charter Rates document we received had "Peachtree Trolley & Georgia Trolley Services" in the header and the contract we signed was with Georgia Trolley Services. Side note: If you're wondering why we received the Roman Rose quote in April 2020, it's because our wedding was originally scheduled for May 2020 and then got postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Peachtree Trolley's white trolley is known as "The Swan" and it seats 32 passengers. I believe more can fit inside by standing. For people standing, there are rails and straps they can hold on to. For Friday-Sunday, The Swan charter started at $1,200 with a four-hour minimum plus $250 for each additional hour. Peachtree Trolley also has "The Phoenix" black trolley which seats 26 and a minibus which seats 24. Both The Phoenix and the minibus were less expensive than The Swan. The number to book a charter is different from the number for tickets, which is the number listed here on Yelp. Peachtree Trolley's charter booking number is 404-668-1531. Our planner worked with Steven to arrange our wedding charter. I think we were supposed to pay a 50% deposit ($100 of which was supposed to be non-refundable) 45 days before our wedding date, but no one from the company ever followed up with us despite having our contact information. My wife ended up calling Peachtree Trolley and that's how she spoke to Shauna. I ended up paying for everything within days of the wedding which turned out to be OK. read more

We were in Atlanta for 2 days to see a Braves game and went with this tour to get a few hour lesson on the city. I am so happy that we did. Our tour guide was excellent. Very personable and knowledgeable and took great pride in his job and the city he represents. They stop by all the top places in Atlanta and you take a break at Martin Luther King's tomb. Took this tour on a SuperBowl Sunday (2/11/24) on the 10:30am tour. Pickup was in front of the Hilton Garden Inn steps away from the Aquarium. Our tour guide was excellent - she had a great grasp of not just the city's rich history, but also provided wonderful tips such as food recommendations and places to go at night. The pace was just right to take everything in. It covers the city's history from its founding all the way to the most recently erected buildings, as well as upcoming changes to the city. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the city for the first time, and would be ideal to book it as your first activity if possible so you get a "lay of the land" and can plan the rest of your trip accordingly depending on what might pique your interest based on the points of interest. read more

We spent this past weekend in Atlanta and only had few hours of free time. This was our second time in Atlanta so we went to the aquarium and coca cola museum before. I was so glad that I found out about this trolley tour because this was perfect for us! The tour was 90 minute long. They took us to so many historic places in Atlanta. Our tour guide, Mary was very good explaining the entire thing! She actually didn't stop talking for the entire 90 minute tour. Amazing! We learned a lot about Atlanta in only 90 minutes. Best tour ever! The trolley was also very cute. The windows were so big so it's easy to see outside. In certain areas, they drove very slowly also so we had more time to see. The Peachtree Trolley Tour was a great resource for exploring Atlanta. We were in downtown Atlanta on a mini spring break trip from Virginia. I absolutely love city life. In order to make good use of my time I wanted to explore and get the full experience as well as sightsee. They do have student discounts (valid college ID) and of course other possible ticket discounts. The concept of riding a trolley through the city to sightsee was a pretty fun and unique experience. Not only because we got to see downtown, uptown, and midtown Atlanta, but also got to see how diverse the tour was based on where people were from. Although this trolley is nonstop you still do get time to take pictures and whenever the trolley stops you just can't get off at the designated stops. Our tour guide was knowledgeable of the city which made things easier. We saw historical sites, shopping, landmarks, etc. One of my favorite stops was seeing where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. grew up and how his site was. I would recommend doing the trolley ride which is worth the money because you see a lot and learn a good amount in that 90 minute span. read more

When family came to visit from out of town I thought a 90 minute tour of Atlanta would be perfect. They picked us up in front of the Twin Smokers BBQ restaurant not far from the downtown aquarium and World of Coke Museum; and left promptly on time. Our tour guide was very informative, bubbly and accommodating. Just the perfect way to get exposure to quite a bit of Atlanta history. This tour is a great combination of a little bit of history and a little bit of sightseeing the tourist spots in Atlanta. We caught a ride on the Trolley during the "soft" reopening under new management and really enjoyed the tour. The ladies were fun, genuinely friendly, and very grateful to have their jobs back! With the reopening the Tour has a slight change of location. It is farther down Baker St. NW, at a little stand in a grass area located by the intersection of Baker St. NW & Marietta St. NW across from Stats. There you can purchase tickets while the trolley picks you up in front of Twin Smokers BBQ. Mary was extremely knowledgeable about Atlanta and very clearly loves this town. It seems she has gathered all of her knowledge by actively attending the sights she highlights and has dedicated her time to learning about the history surrounding them. Marva (or perhaps Marta - wish I had clarified her name!) expertly navigated the downtown area with ease even when a street was unexpectedly blocked off. She quickly rerouted to make sure we never missed a sight and were never caught in traffic. I was so thankful to have her as the driver and not me trying to navigate myself! The trolley was also cool, clean, and comfortable to ride around the town. We chose this over the World of Coca-Cola Museum and definitely did not regret that decision. We took this tour recently.i was expecting more information about the history of the city since it is such a rich history.instead it was 90 percent promotion of tourist sites with a repeated emphasis on those that are free. Even going by the Oakland Cemetery was more about restaurants and bars than the history of the site. Our guide was very loud..saying yea yea yea as we passed the stadium....some tall buildings...people drinking in a bar....and the old Olympic village....and using a condescending loud voice asking us....so what is the bird that is the name of the football team....say it louder..and ..who was the president who came from Georgia....I will give you a hint...he was a peanut farmer...it went on and on...like we were children. Very disappointing...could have been so much better with more info on history and some info on sites to see. ...in better balance. I could hardly wait to get off of the trolley. read more
