I started using FFB Bank when I started my own firm after being with my prior law firm for 31 years. They have been excellent. Incredibly professional, understanding of the needs of start-up businesses and have a wonderful personal touch. They quickly worked with me to iron out all of the "wrinkles" that coming with establishing business checking and savings accounts as well as a professional credit line. Terrible bank. They used to be self-aware, offering very convenient and innovative solutions that weren't found at the nationwide banks to make up for the fact that they only have one branch. However, for some strange reason, they have decided to roll these back and now their services, offers, and processes to get the most simply things done or reported take exponentially longer than any of their competition. Now, there is quite literally nothing they do or offer that the large corporate banks and more established local banks don't do better. Since their rebrand to FFB, they claim to cater to both business banking and personal banking rather than just business. This is not the case for either. Having a personal account does nothing for you other than make it convenient if you have business accounts there. There are no credit cards, offers, or rewards. An FFB personal account is the equivalent of having money under your mattress. The business banking side is also a complete joke now. Unless you are sitting on millions of dollars, don't expect this bank to do ANYTHING for you. They used to tout a $100k credit line, but it is nearly impossible to obtain. You can have the most excellent credit and steady deposits, but they will still deny you. If one of your businesses is lucky, if they see you using the credit line for what it's intended for, they will cut you off until whatever balance you have is paid in full. An absolute joke. Also, all their processes are very old school. Every little thing you want done, you have to call in, wait to get an email sent to you, fill out paperwork, scan it and email it back, and pray they process it fast enough for you to meet your business deadlines and needs. Totally INEFFICIENT. They also are only open from 9am- 5pm Monday through Friday, so if you're in need of emergency assistance or have transactions bright and early at 8am or an important transaction after 5pm, or even conducting important business on the weekend (note to FFB: businesses operate during the weekends!) , consider you and your business COOKED. Card limits are dirt low for both business and personal cards; you need to call to have them raised during business hours (again, if you need to do a transaction on the weekend, early morning, or after 5pm, you're DOOMED). If you want the limit raised at the other banks, you can call any time, and they will raise it for however many days you need, not a temporary raise until the end of day in which you have to call again tomorrow or fill out paperwork, scan it, and email it back for a "review" that has a high chance of getting denied. Their claims process is also a joke. More forms, weak with other banks, weak on false charges despite the charge reading "PENDING". Don't expect them to credit you a red cent for something that was still considered in your account. I've been a customer for over three years and will be moving my nine business accounts and multiple personal accounts elsewhere, and my family will be doing the same. Great people work there, i.e. tellers, bankers, etc. Management and their leadership team are a bunch of out of touch dopes who think they are Goldman-Sachs. Needs new blood and local people at the top. Processes and policies are outdated, slow, inefficient, and extremely anti-business. Personal banking still remains nonexistent. read more

Rant: Fresno First Bank has to be the absolute worst!! Got a call from their fraud department about some activities on my account (appreciated), I let them know that they were not authorized charges, great, sign a fraud doc at the bank and they will "investigate " done, now wait up to 90 days for their results, great, it only took them 45+ long days to send me a letter stating, they are "authorized charges " and I have to try and get my money back directly from the people who defrauded ME!!! Wonderful bank, staff and services. My only "gripe" is I wish there was one in South-Central Fresno but I do get it.

If you want to refinance your commercial loan with this bank, DO NOT! STAY AWAY! We submitted an application for our borrower with AVP/Commercial Loan Officer Jyoti Arora for a $3.5M+ commercial refinance loan application back in the beginning/mid of December and all they did was ask us to send them all the required documents needed (which we did the same day) and after a month or so, we still never got a term sheet. The only news we got from Ms. Arora was that the loan looks EXCELLENT, IT WILL GO THROUGH, ETC. Because of this delay and empty promises, our VIP client decided to walk away and end tide with us moving forward. If you have all the time of your life and have infinite patience, then this is the bank for you. I am pretty sure that the RESIDENTIAL lending side will be the same as the commercial lending side. This bank does not know that borrower's times are valuable every second. read more

Exceptional service and extremely friendly, Fresno First Bank is unlike a regular bank or credit union you may have gone to. I opened an HSA here yesterday. Lisa Bassill had emailed me the paperwork and that made coming in to sign the paperwork and fund the account easy. Lisa loves her coffee and can juggle an impressive number of balls, without losing focus on any one, at a time. The bank itself is pretty fancy, spacious and upscale, but it's the people who make it what it is. My folks have banked at Fresno First Bank and are known by name. Try that at another bank! Anyway, in way of encouragement to Lisa, the other staff and Fresno First Bank itself, you provided exceptional service to me and I wanted to encourage you all with some positive feedback. Worst bank to work with, there is no management, I applied for commercial loan and 3 other banks approved in 1 week and it was 5 million dollar project and they wasted my time so much to get me LOI, and they keep requesting for other documents, if you are looking for loan for gas stations, travel centers, don't even bother to call them , they don't have any funds to even approve anyone I think. I decided to open a savings account since it's across town from me (I live downtown), which makes me less tempted and it more difficult to withdraw money. I come in about once a month and have had nothing but amazing customer service. Absolutely the WORST service you can get if you are approaching this bank for an SBA loan. I was lead on for about 3 months before giving a denial. The person I dealt with (Micheal Fanucchi) was so unresponsive with any details relating to our loan.I would have to reach out at least 3 times before I get an answer of any sort. After three months I was given an approval letter but when It came time for underwriting I was told that our loan was not gonna get approved. This is not the kind of thing you want to get when you are trying to get financials straight to get a business. Lucky for us the seller was a patient man and waited for us to get a loan from another bank. Higher ups are no good either, I was told that the banker will get a good talking to when I explained my situation to Senior Loan officer (Craig Shields). Please save yourself some time and energy and A LOT of disappointment. read more

I decided to move several of my accounts from a larger bank chain to a small local bank. After researching several banks in the area I chose to go to this bank. What a mistake that was. Here is part of the letter I sent to the bank manager upon closing of my accounts. I wanted to bring to your attention some things that I ran into when opening my accounts at your bank. First, before choosing to open accounts at your bank I had done research at several local bands as to the best fit for my needs. I came into your bank to get information about the services that you offer to your clients. I sat down with one of your account managers the name of which I do not remember at this time. She informed me of everything that your bank could offer me. I liked everything that she told me. One of my major concerns with a local bank was the hours since I am not able to come to the branch to do deposits and I prefer not to use the drop box. So one of my questions to her was "do you offer remote check deposit" and how much is the cost (in order to compare to other local banks). Her answer surprised me. She informed me that they do offer remote check deposit and that they were offering it free to their clients upon approval. I remember this very clearly because I asked several times if there was a cost for this service. She informed me several times that there was no cost and there were no plans at this time to start charging for this service. I was very happy to hear that this was the policy at this bank. I was so impressed that your bank would offer such great customer service in a world of companies that don't seem to know the meaning of service. So I left and went home to evaluate my options. It was a hard decision because I have 6 accounts that I would be opening or switching from my old bank and if I chose poorly it would prove to be a lot of wasted time. I chose to do business at your bank. I gathered up all the paperwork that I needed to open several of the accounts; I needed two of my business accounts and a personal as well at that time. I came into the bank and asked to speak to the account manager that I spoke with the first time; she wasn't available so I sat down with a different one to open my accounts. The process went fine and she was very pleasant. At the end of this time I informed her that I needed to get set up for remote check capture. She said ok and that I will need to bring in some account statements and started to explain the fees involve with this service. I was taken aback by this statement of the fees involved for the remote capture since I was informed several days earlier that this service was offered free of charge. This person informed me that there was indeed a charge and it was never free. Keep in mind I would have probably still opened the accounts even if there was a fee for this service. I stated my disappointment and handed her my statements for approval. The next day I got a call stating that I was not approved for the remote capture feature. I was somewhat surprised at this because my accounts were all in good standing with my prior bank. Apparently this service is only for accounts that have very large balances throughout the year. I don't keep large balances in that account. I own and run several businesses and was very disappointed at this apparent flaw in your customer service plan. Maybe you have never been taught the lifetime value of a client. Or maybe they don't teach bank managers that people that are treated extraordinarily well will tell everyone else that they know how wonderful the service is at their bank. I will just have to trust that you must not have been taught these things in school. Or maybe the bank really isn't what they say they are in their radio adds. If that wasn't enough I got a call a day or two later after I had expressed my disappointment to my account manager. The person informed me that there are costs associated with this service that the bank has to pay; they just can't give them away. I have been in business for over 20 years did she think that I was unaware of the fact that things have a cost? Then she informed me that she had decided to go ahead and approve me for this service at no charge. She was also going to send me a statement each month showing me the cost that they were paying for this service that she was so kind to be giving to me. First of all I don't need it for free; your bank said it was free. Second it's not good customer service to condescend a client. I don't care what fees you get charged. That is a cost of doing business. That is the cost to make a cheerleader out of a client. Plus I was willing to go from 6 free accounts at my current bank to 6 pay accounts with your back in order to have great customer service.
