FH Decks and Landscaping did a huge landscaping job for us on a difficult part of our yard that slopes and we were having a ton of issues with water being retained after a lot of rain. They installed the proper drains so there is no more issue and the proper plants that don't require a lot of sun b/c it's a heavily shaded area. My husband and I couldn't be more happy with the work they did. Everyone that came to our house and worked was professional and got the job done in a very timely manner. We are having them back to fix a few areas in our deck now! It's sad to see that you got a personal attack on your business b/c of some pettiness HOA issues. After contracting with FH Decks and Landscaping to put glacial rocks in front of my seawall, they put in big rocks, but neglected to finish the project by NOT adding various smaller sizes of glacial rock to help minimize wave action. Requested an estimate for laying down mulch at my home. Around house and garage. By their own measurements they said we needed in total 196.5 cubic feet of mulch. In cubic yards which is how mulch is sold that translates to about 7.2 yards of mulch at 3 inches thick. However, they told me I needed 21 yards of mulch, coming in at a whopping $1320 for materials and labor. I have previously mulched my yard myself and have had it mulched previously by landscapers. I knew that was incredibly high so I questioned them. I asked them to recalculate. They stuck by their estimate. I let them know 21 yards of mulch will mulch 3 houses my size. I said I've done the measurements myself and that their measurements were close to mine so even if I use their measurements its only 7.2 yards. They still would not budge. I stating that since I doubt they would leave the left over 14 yards of mulch laying in my driveway and given my dealings with them that they would not reimburse me for it, it appears they are running a scam. Double and triple dipping on payment for the same mulch. Customer pays for 21 yards of mulch, they only use 7. Next customer pays for the remaining 14 yards that have already been paid for, they use only 7 and get another unsuspecting customer to pay for the remaining 7 yards that two previous customers have already paid for. They had nothing to say except sorry you feel that way and have a nice day. In any case, buyer beware on doing business with this company. I had 2 other estimates from landscapers come in. Both came in at $450 for 7 yards of mulch at 3 inches thick. That's for mulch and labor. Job done, Looks great. read more
