I have to say that of all the doctors I've seen since moving to the UK, I like the doctors at Field Road Health Centre the best. Admittedly, I'm picky about doctors and find it hard to find one that I both feel comfortable around and actually like. So it was a pleasant surprise to find some good doctors at this health centre. If I'm not mistaken, this is a son and daughter team. I have not seen Dr David C Downward, but my husband has and seemed happy with him. I have seen his daughter Dr. Heulwen S. Downward and really liked her. I haven't been that happy with a doctor since the one I had back home in the USA. She was friendly, but not overbearingly chatty which I can't stand (particularly in doctors, dentists, and hair dressers.) I would highly recommend this health centre, however if you have an appointment on a Thursday the centre is closed from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., which can be really annoying if you forget this and show up early for a 2:00 appointment. read more
