I've been going to this event for years. There's a ton of activities and lots of different types of food. You and the kids will have a blast.

I think this was the biggest street fair I've been to. It takes place Memorial Day weekend every year Fiesta Hermosa is a treasured community event that welcomes Southern California residents each year to open the summer. Its footprint encompasses the entire downtown area of Hermosa Beach with many street closures. Average attendance is 125,000 people over the 3 days. This year was the 53rd year. You can expect the same insane fun with five stages of music: Beach stage, Garden Stage, Garden Acoustic Stage, Java Man Stage and Carnival Stage. It will also feature a large Carnival for families with brand activations throughout the whole footprint for all to enjoy. Food and desserts will be ample whether dining at a local business or visiting the Food Fair and Dessert Depot. And of course we'll have over 250+ vendors in the streets for the shopping pleasure of all in attendance--we call it the Makers Mercado. Everything at Fiesta is open and free to enter for the public (except the Garden which has a $5 cover). The Garden will feature sponsored beverages as well as local tasty cocktails, beer and wine. Added this year is a new wine Garden between the Carnival and Makers Mercado. Loved all the carnival rides for the kiddos and live music. A lot of booths just not as many food options for how many tents there are

This was a fun event that I got to enjoy on Memorial Day. It was packed, but not to the point that it would deter me from staying there as long as I did. There were a lot of vendors, but the only vendors I was really looking forward to were the dog vendors. Unfortunately, there might have been about 3 out 4 vendors and they weren't focused on dog food but dog fashion. Let's get more variety from dog vendors next event.

What a joy to have a festival so close to the beach! I arrived extra early so I wouldn't encounter issues with parking. It was already impacted and the event hadn't even started. We ended up going on Saturday. The first thing we saw were the rides and games that were still not in motion. Then we started meandering down and visiting the booths of interest. There were so many! I'm thankful for the variety. Besides Pier Avenue, a few sides streets also had vendors. Closer to the pier was a stage with live music. We were able to have our lunch on the pier, it's that close! There was another stage with a young band. There was also a petting zoo for kids. Great Saturday outing.

4 stars Decided to come here with my dog and family. We had a great time looking around, but, like many others have pointed out, you can get some of the same items for less outside of the fair. Food-wise, there were only 2 food items that kinda stood out to me, which were the Dutch Pancakes ($7 for 10 bite-sized pieces) and Lobster Sandwich ($26)...which I didn't end up getting. Instead, I went to Guisados for a small bite! There were a lot of women's clothing & accessories, homegoods, dog accessories, and sticker booths. And a lot of people brought their dogs, which was fun to see. Coca-Cola and Minute Maid were giving out unlimited drink samples by the boardwalk. Parking was pretty easy thanks to Luke's review!! I followed his review's instructions on parking and hopped on the shuttle (w/ my dog in a sling). The shuttle system is well-organized and nice. Transportation is certainly not something every city is willing to set up for visitors coming in for an event, so they definitely deserve bonus points. Overall, had a decent time strolling through the market.

The good: I had a lot of fun at this event and was surprised by how many quality vendors there were. Outside of tents and vendors, the businesses at the location of the event were nice to see as well. My daughter got to pet a pig, alpaca, cow, and goats at a petting zoo. We also played carnival games and ate gyros and lamb fries. I liked that there were tables setup for the food. We got a free energy drink, tote, and playdoh. There are parking shuttles. We parked at a nearby parking lot and walked over. They have paid parking spots for $20. The bad: The ticket booth said 4 tickets were needed for the petting zoo but the petting zoo attendant said 5. I saw that she accepted both 4 and 5 which didn't seem fair. She was also a bit grumpy and uninformed about the start process of the event. It was 10:55 (event starts at 11) when someone asked her where they should line up and she responded "I don't know, we're not open yet" grumpily. The prizes at the game booths are pretty cheap. The kettle corn wasn't as yummy (less sweet) as others I've had. The interesting: Tickets are $1 each and they recommended that I buy 20 tickets. Most games are 5 tickets. I was left with 2 tickets I couldn't really use. My daughter is 20 months old and they said most rides probably wouldn't be good for her because she's too young. I got a hat for $20 but saw other places with hats for $79. They had Japanese clothing stands and lots of art stands.

Music, food and supporting local artisans

I shied away from local festivals and crowds so this was my first time attending. Thought it would be a fun to pop in for a little bit. Looks like there's a little something for everyone from families with young children to those who prefer to listen to live music on the beach. The beer garden right smack in the middle has live music as well for an additional cost. Glad to support a few vendors at the many booths. Lots of jewelry and clothing as expected and tge kid scored a quality hoodie Bummer that one of the food vendors closed early but others were open. Service at some of the restaurants seemed slow as they were slammed. Transportation was super convenient with school bus shuttles. Definitely recommend.

I loved my time during fiesta hermosa. Very very hard to find parking you may have to walk a mile from your parking spot lol. I went over Memorial Day weekend and it was so awesome seeing so many of the best vendors and even a carnival. There is live music too and so much to do. Can't wait to come back.

*** 2023 Memorial Weekend *** Fiesta Hermosa is the largest beachside arts and craft festival in Southern California, and it has been around event since 1952. [Time]: The festival takes place every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. [Ticket]: Street vendors, food pavilion, and musical entertainment are all absolutely free. Additional tickets are required for activities such as the petting zoo and carnival rides. There is a $5 cover charge for the beer garden. For carnival tickets, here is the price breakdown: One ticket = $1 Rides = 4 tickets Games = 4 to 10 tickets Petting zoo = 4 tickets Petting zoo & ferris wheel = 5 tickets Feed at petting zoo (cash only) = 1 for $3 and 2 for $5 [Parking]: Finding parking at Hermosa Beach can be challenging on a regular summer weekend, and it becomes even more difficult during Fiesta. Fortunately, there are free park-and-ride options available from 10 AM to 10 PM. Visitors can park at the Northrup Grumman lot on Aviation Blvd at 33rd St in North Redondo Beach (Google NGC M5 Parking, located right next to the Chevron gas station at 2301 N Aviation Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266). Another option is the Mira Costa High School parking lot (1401 Artesia Blvd, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266). Hermosa Valley School (1645 Valley Dr, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254) also offers nearby parking for $20. [Shuttle]: Our party departed from the Northrup Grumman M5 parking lot at 2:15 PM with a mid-stop at Mira Costa High School. However, the bus was overcrowded and some people had to wait at the Mira Costa High School stop. I've observed multiple visitors boarding with their furry friends. If your dogs are at ease in confined areas and exhibit good behavior without excessive barking, bus drivers won't prohibit their presence on the buses. After Mira Costa High, the bus made two stops: one at PCH + Pier Ave and another at 10th + Hermosa Ave. The official website STRONGLY recommends getting off at the first stop (PCH + Pier Ave) and heading downhill to conveniently enjoy Fiesta. I wholeheartedly agree with this recommendation. Our party got off at PCH + Pier Ave at 2:30 PM. Later, we waited at the 10th + Hermosa Ave stop, and the lines were slightly confusing as one was for returning to Mira Costa High and the other for returning to the Northrup Grumman lot. Visitors can ask the security guard at the bus stop and the returning bus should have a sign indicating its destination making it clear which bus visitors should board. Our party boarded the bus at 3:35 PM and returned to the Northrup Grumman lot at 3:55 PM. [Activities]: The festival is divided into five main sections: carnival, boutique/art vendors, the beer garden, food pavilion/fair/court, and beach concerts. The number of vendors exceeded my expectations and many of them had a hipster/trendy vibe similar to those you would find at the weekly Sunday Melrose Trading Post. One of the highlights of this festival is the abundance of free food and drink samples. Several vendors offered free popcorn and hummus samples and even Coca Cola and Minute Maid had booths at the Hermosa Beach Pier Plaza giving out complimentary drink samples. The makeshift food court offered a diverse selection and there are also other local brick-and-mortar food options available. The festival surpassed all my expectations with its free park & ride, abundance of boutique and food vendors, captivating beach vibe, excellent local shops, complimentary food/drink samples, and lively beer garden. It's the perfect place to spend 2-4 hours and have a fantastic afternoon.

How much fun it is this weekend festival that I believe happens once a year in Hermosa beach. I would highly recommend checking it out because there's so many vendors and a lot of great music! This is not a little festival it's a few blocks long and it's really a lot of great vendors and unique items.

Jennifer C. L.

Definitely a family affair event booming with life and love all around. The festival started at 10am and within the first hour it is overflowing with tons of people and building a crowd. We got here just before 10 because we heard the parking can be tough. We got lucky and found the last parking spot in the public library lot where we got to park for free. But looking at the scope of things, the likelihood of finding street parking is a slim chance to none. You should prepare to pay $20 bucks for those private parking lots. All in all, this place is a sure bet for family fun!

I like coming to Fiesta Hermosa every year. It goes on all weekend. I get there early because of parking. Then I catch breakfast at one of the restaurants in the area. Not sure when they technically open, but people are still setting up until 10am. They close the street off, so it's just fun to walk around and look at what people are selling: clothing, jewelry, food, wind chimes, art, etc. There is also pet adoption. They have a stage set up near the pier with a live band. I've never personally stayed for the band, which I think is usually a Beatles cover band, or something similar. Many people bring their dogs. It's an opportunity for the whole family to be outdoors, shopping and eating.

It's a zoo here today!
David D.

My first Fiesta Hermosa was in 2005 when I used to live a block from where it all happens. Unhealthy food, lot's of drinking, traffic jams, no parking, and bad music bands are what make Fiesta Hermosa so special. Not to mention all the vendors selling junk most of which you can easily do without. But it's a fun and happening event--all the SouthBay jock-heads love it. It's Memorial Day weekend to start the summer and Labor Day weekend to end the summer. They also have a petting zoo for the kids. They also have a bike valet area--but they are not responsible if your bike gets stolen the sign says that no one really reads except me. How to have the best time at Fiesta Hermosa: Drink! Start drink early and often, and just like Spring Break in College or a Dorm Party, you will have the best time I guarantee you. You will start to think that the Rolling Stones cover band really are the Rolling Stones.

Vendors selling; jewelry, clothes, handmade goods, arts and crafts, toys, collectibles, artwork, etc. So many things to see! There's also food vendors with lots of options to choose from as well as fruity beverages, drinks and beer. There's also carnival rides, games and a petting zoo for the kiddos! Best of all, live music for entertainment! Plenty of chairs to sit for eating-- or just to enjoy the music. Many of the vendors were extremely friendly and welcoming. Folks seemed to enjoy themselves dancing as well. I missed going here and it brought back memories. Free admission and free parking!

There was live music, carnival rides, carnival games, food stands like funnel cake and fries, arcade games, vendors, and local businesses like YMCA, the police department and yoga studios promoting their stores. I was able to easily find parking at the garage in the Promenade shopping center. I definitely plan to come back annually. My daughter enjoyed seeing the pigs, llama, bunnies, goats, horses, and dogs. I got a free candy from the YMCA stand. The rides looked really fun and we're substantially large enough for older kids and adults too. The bad: I only saw 3 portable potties but I was able to use the restroom by the skating rink in the Promenade. The interesting: They had the same petting zoo that was at the Festival Hermosa.

A smaller stage with covered seating area located in the back. Food vendors lined along the pathway. Malasadas! Chocolate filled?! Yes please! We tried all the flavors and chocolate was the favorite. Hot and fresh so good. I did have to dust a little sugar off like a beignet because I wanted that oozing chocolate.. divine! Manapua was aight.. I know they could do better. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. No attitudes at these festivals only kind and caring. You can bring your own water which is so nice especially during the summer. Get there early for a shady spot to set up your chairs, blankets or og bamboo mats. Parking was $10 in the parking structure. Lots of handicap parking spots reserved in the front. It was nice to see these accommodations. The structure is the length of the park so there's lots of space. If you get there early enough you can also park on the sidewalk or at the other end of the park with a little further walk to avoid fees. Mobile bathrooms with outdoor wash station. All of the performances were so beautiful. Listening to the island music and watching the performers brought the ohana vibes with the island spirit of aloha. Live musicians and MC were the cherry on top. Keeping that peaceful harmony flowing throughout the whole day.

Crowd flow, VIP access, SEATING, organization, logistics, and overall coordination were far below what you'd expect for a festival at this price point. What surprised me most was how little the festival actually embraced the beach setting. For something called a beach festival, you barely even felt connected to the ocean. Most of the venue felt like a standard concert setup with some sand added in certain areas rather than a true coastal experience. If it wasn't for the palm trees, it could be in Missouri. The talent carried the weekend. The operations and venue design dragged it down.

Yes, everything is expensive, but seeing as how it is located in a church, I'm assuming this is the church's way to have a fun fundraiser. There is an admission fee on top of the premium you pay for the food, but if you go to their website, you can get a coupon for one free admission. Parking: They have dedicated handicap spots on the curb right in front. Everyone else either did street parking, or parked in the empty elementary school lot across the street. Kids: They have a bouncy house and an inflatable slide, but you need to get a wristband for each child. Wristbands cost $10 and I believe they are unlimited for the day. They also sell candy in the area where they sell the wristbands. Food: It was cool to also see them roast the lamb off in one corner. I just wish they didn't use such a skinny lamb. The fries on the lamb plate were nice and crispy, and you get 3 pieces of lamb. They had a large pastry & cookie selection with a sampler deal. As someone who is not an expert in Greek desserts, I wish they made it clear on the menu which ones are the pastries by having it on one side of the menu and cookies on the other side. The items I wanted to try were all pastries and unfortunately they don't have a pastry sampler deal. Prices reflect per pastry or for cookies, you get 2. It wasn't until we were ready to go that I stumbled upon their indoor dining hall. It was packed in there as well as the shaded umbrella tables, so I guess I would have had to roast in the sun anyways. In the dining hall, they have pretty much the same offerings as outside, except there is rice pudding as well. While they did have the hot foods in a warm buffet server, the only way to get to it is by standing in line and waiting patiently to get to the last station, slowly scooting through each section since the line is roped off single file. Bathrooms: They have a bathroom inside the dining hall as well as across the outdoor tables. Inside the dining hall, the women's bathroom had 3 stalls and thankfully the line wasn't ridiculously long as they tend to be at festivals. They had live music, but it was too loud for my comfort. They also sold water ($2) and the bottle says that they donate a portion to mental health, which we really do need in America. Cool event, especially to go with friends. I'm really glad I came but this is a one-time experience for me. For me, the heat, the price, and the loud atmosphere is just not worth coming back - I much prefer going to an indoor artisanal specialty shop. Now I just really want to make a trip to Greece, lol.

Instead of $15, we paid $9 or so. We parked down the street for $10 at the Salvation Army (for a good cause) and walked over. Some of our friends parked closer in another lot for $2/hour. First, we purchased meal tickets at one booth, then stood in line at another booth to get our lobster meal - we got the "Big Louie Dinner", which is the larger 2.5 lbs. lobster for $50 rather than the 1.25 lb. one for $30. It came with a roll and some small potatoes. We went to another booth to have our lobsters cracked open with a mallet. However, I still had to crack lots of shells open. Luckily, I had brought gloves, kitchen scissors, and disposable hand wipes. Others in our group purchased meal tickets for other lobster dishes such as Lobster Mac and Cheese. The wait time and the lines for food were rather cumbersome and a bit confusing. When we were dining, we sat at tables and chairs that were under some tents. Afterwards, we walked around the booths. One of the vendors had a game, so we played and won prizes. We enjoyed the live music and the nice weather! It was quite a memorable experience! I was really happy to meet Gloria for the first time; see Carrie again and meet her family; and catch up with Craig & Tim! If I were to do it again, I would try the other Lobster Festival and compare. We don't have Lobster Festivals in Hawaii, so it's kinda fun for me!

Overall, fun event to spend a little time and see what the various sellers are selling, perhaps have a bite to eat either at the event itself, or one of the local restaurants, and/or just enjoy the ocean air.
