The space has two floors -- one floor is strictly jumping castles, and the other floor has mini rides and mini golf. The issue is that the rides and mini golf cost additional money on top of the admission price ($2 per ride). It's about $30 for a child and $10 for an adult just to get in, so having to pay extra for most of the activities felt excessive. There was also only one employee working the entire floor with the rides and mini golf, which made things feel understaffed and unorganized. Cleanliness was another big concern. There were crumbs and dirt all over the floors, and the men's restroom changing station was very dirty -- the baby changing platform was especially unpleasant. Overall, this place did not feel like a good value for the price. I wouldn't recommend it, especially considering the additional costs and lack of cleanliness.

Parking was easily with two lots on each side of the museum as well as the street. Two wooden buildings were part of the museum but only one was open to visitors. There was a nice garden in between and a small water fountain bubbling in the middle. We made our way inside and greeted by the on site docent. He was friendly, outgoing and spent a few minutes briefly relating the history of the city and exhibits inside. A mixture of photos, artifacts, and timelines about the city were in the front room. I thought this room was nice to understand how the city evolved over time. The 2nd room display was about George Freeth who moved from Hawaii and credited with introducing surfing to California. Room 3 was not as interesting to us since it was mostly about local high schools but Room 4 highlighted local companies like the former GTE phone company and previous Olympic Games in LA. We spent less than half an hour here before we made our way back to the PCH. If in the area then it would be a nice stop but not necessary to go out of your way.

We didn't spend much time in here, literally walked in for 5 minutes and walked out but for the kids I think this is pretty neat. Not much to see in there but I do recall some jellyfish, a touch tank (or maybe you couldn't touch it? Signs were confusing), and few small tanks with fish and starfish.

It's a railroad museum with a few railroad cars and a small museum displaying vintage items, models, and what not. The curator is very passionate about this museum and locomotives and can give you a detailed explanation or tour about, well, anything railroad. And the best part? It's all free! But still strongly consider donating or supporting via their gift shop, this is a gem within Lomita and we gotta make sure it stays around for a long time. They also allow for venue renting of the grassy space and across the street as well for any events you want so keep that in mind as well! Small parking lot but there's plenty of street parking too!

This was another gem of a museum we found on our latest SoCal drive,…read more It was tucked away in a residential neighborhood and spread out over two plots of land. A replica train station (which housed the museum and bathrooms) and water tower, two cabooses, tanker and steam engine train were the main attractions. It also had its own small parking lot as well as a large lawn area. You had to press a doorbell at the locked gate in front and one of the staff will buzz visitors in and out. Two docents welcomed us and told us to ask them any questions at anytime. The museum was originally founded by Irene Lewis who used the money from her husband's miniature steam engines business. The museum was later given to the city of Lomita who managed it and admission was free (though donations accepted). Outside the train station we learned via a detailed photo spread just how the trains were moved to and installed in their current places. Inside the museum contents were well organized and spanned a variety of subjects including uniforms, model trains, telegraph (where one could actually tap messages in Morse code), food services, historical train lines, and more. Head into the nearest caboose to see a bit of what it was like to live there and peruse the small collection of adult and kids train and railroad books. Overall time well spent if you happen to be in the area Fri to Sun.

What an incredible little museum. We got up close & personal with the cockpit of an F-5. An…read moreincredibly knowledgeable docent took his time to explain to us the controls in the cockpit & we learned a bit about what it would've been like flying in the plane. We really appreciated the detail & time he spent with us. Then we learned about the Webb Space Telescope - a docent who was a retired Aerospace engineer took about 20 minutes to talk to us about it, we also learned a few things about the Voyagers (1 and 2). I feel I learned more about space travel in the 20 minutes I spent with him than all the years I was in school. There are also awesome artifacts (some for sale), books & model airplanes for purchase. I also really enjoyed the Women in Flight exhibit about women pilots & astronauts.

The rest of the time we were browsing around and even sat on an F5 cockpit. We were also pretty lucky that a few planes were landing and taking off so that was exciting. Staff was amazing.
