I wanted to love this place but I can only say its mediocre at best. The chile rellano is basically an ortega chili wrapped in an egg tortilla. Weirdest thing Ive ever tasted. Definitely not a rellano. They have no idea what spices are. Salsa is ok. Nothing to write home about. Fajitas came out on a regular plate with tomatoes. Never had that before either. read more

Passing through Billings and wanted Mexican food but it had to be close to I-90. Saw this place on the map and decided to give it a try. We were immediately seated and had the nicest waitress. She took our drink orders and brought us chips and two types of salsa. Not sure what was in the milder one (crab, maybe?) but it was fantastic! We placed our food orders and the everything was brought out in a reasonable time. I'm not sure what they put in their refried beans but they are really great! There's just a little something extra...cinnamon, perhaps...but it's like nothing we've ever had before - and we eat a lot of Mexican food! We met up with friends here today for lunch. They've been here a bunch of times, but it was the first time for my husband and me. I got the enchilada style beef burrito and a watermelon margarita, and my husband got the seafood quesadilla. When our food came, my plate was very hot, but the food wasn't, leading me to believe my lunch was microwaved and not fresh, which was a disappointment. The margarita didn't really taste like watermelon, just alcohol. My husband liked his quesadilla a lot. I tried it, and it was pretty good. This restaurant actually drove me to make a yelp account, terrible time. If we could give less than 1 we would. When we first sat down, we enjoyed the environment and the atmosphere of the restaurant. Waitress brought us chips and salsa to start. We put in an order for beans to go with the chips. The beans took forever to come out, (not the servers fault) but she sets the beans down directly in front of me, I went to push them to the middle of the table and burnt my hand. The plate was SUPER hot. She than says "oh yea, hot." Like right thanks. So we than went to put in our order. I asked for the stuffed burrito with chicken. I asked if it was ok to add sour cream to the inside of the burrito, she instantly goes "No...(no mean af) put aside?" So I said yea, thinking it wouldn't be charged since nothing was said about it. My girlfriend than also asked for a stuffed burrito, which comes with beans and rice on the side. My gf asks if it's ok if they could put the rice and beans on the inside of the burrito, since other places usually do that or have the option too. She just instantly says "No. (once again mean.) It goes on side." We just both look at each other and say ok. Than we get our food a bit later, she says the plate is hot this time (thank god) and we start eating. Beans and rice were good, but the burrito had no flavor at all. We also don't like onions and peppers and they were all over it when it didn't say that either /: Solid 4/10 meal. 2/10 service. The Ambiance was our first clue that things may not be great with this restaurant... For example, the lighting! The interior of the restaurant was so BRIGHT that we found it off-putting. We noticed that many of the lightbulbs in fixtures above the tables and in the large chandelier seen as one comes into the restaurant had been replaced with Bright, Cool bulbs... Some of the original bulbs were still in place, and thus we knew what the lighting HAD BEEN once upon a time. Much better! Also, a bit of vacuuming would have been a good idea. The floor had a littered look in areas that were not attended to. Again, because of the lighting, everything was SO obvious... The Service was fine. The waiter was pleasant. Our meal was a bit slow in getting to us, but we're patient people. The Food: My combination entree was luke warm. Neither my guest nor I enjoyed the beans and rice as we had hoped we would. Beans were pureed, looking like thin paste. Rice, barely warm and clumped. Taco was shredded beef etc., put into a hard shell taco - exactly like you get at Taco Bell. For some reason Mexican places in Montana add cabbage to their salsa. It's gross. Not Fiesta Mexicana. They make their salsa fresh and it's how I like it, a little on the spicy side. We eat here every Sunday after church so say hi if you come in. The staff are so friendly you'd think they were family. The servings are so generous we get two entrees to feed four people. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd expect if you were in Mexico City. They even have the "futbol" match on the tv's. read more

Yes, typical fairly good Mexican Restaurant with all the expected entrees served with salsa and chips. I ordered Machaca con Huevos and thought the meat was seasoned well, tender and moist. They do machaca pretty tasty here; the meat was not grainy. I didn't touch the carbs(rice, beans, tortillas) and just ate the main dish which was plenty for me. The 4th star was for the servers. This was my first time here, absolutely disgusting, the carpet is so dirty that in the exisitng light of the restaurant it looks like a bio hazard. Tortilla Soup was as disgusting as it gets, just old chicken broth, shredded old chicken tossed into a bowl, liquid dumped on it and that is what you get! and few pieces of tortilla...this is not TORTILLA SOUP! Chile Relleno was not real either, just a piece of green chille wrapped in a tortilla with lots of cheese, this is quite possible the WORST MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN AMERICA...and the singing coming from the kitchen was equally pathetic. Good Mexican food does exist in Montana! I've been here a few times now, so here's my take on the foods I've tried ... Cabbage salsa (what??) Love it! Good enchiladas (their verde sauce is yum!) Beans and rice are good but the hard-shell tacos, no bueno due to the processed shells. Would be so much better if they fried their own tortilla shells. OK, It was New Year's day, I was alone and wanted to continue my search for good Mexican food with a bar in Billings. At the front desk was a sign that said, "please wait to be seated". I waited 7 minutes then chased down a waitress. She said, SHE would be right with me and seated me by the bar 5 minutes later. I ordered guacamole, dinner and a Margherita. After a reasonable wait my waitress brought the guacamole, but there was no sign of anyone at the bar making my drink. I ask the waitress about it and she said she was just now going to make it for me. I got the impression that whoever is in charge was more concerned with the budget than the customer, so I left. I ordered a small combination two enchilada meal with a side of tortillas and a soda. My meal was not tasty at all and the beans were watered down and VERY runny. My partner ordered a chicken fajita which she had to return because it was too salty and inedible. The establishment is very clean and the service was exemplary but the quality of the meal was only a #2 rating. $31.65 felt like a big time overcharge so simple cusine orders. Great place for Mexican food here in Billings. The atmosphere is awesome and the staff is super cool and extremely nice. The place is legit. Food was tasty and the menu is extensive. To be honest, it was hard to order. O well, I will have to go back to try something else. Seems like Fiesta Mexicana is always waiting for us to come in since we unfortunately don't get off work until late. Thank you for always being there for us. We really appreciate it. We visited FM for our first time Friday evening early. We were greeted right away, and our drink order was taken. There are a lot of beers on tap, including Tecate, which on tap is not common in Billings. I've been told it's the PBR of Mexico, but we're not in Mexico. The chips were fresh and crispy, and the salsa was mild enough for my wife. I spiced my up some with hot sauce. My wife enjoyed her combo enchiladas, along with the rice and beans. I had a bean and beef burrito, which was very good. A large portion, but I don't mind leftovers for breakfast! All in all, it was a good first experience and I'd recommend the restaurant, if someone asked. read more

This place was highly recommended and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food tasted good, the only reason I'm giving it a one star is because I got really sick to my stomach after eating here ( I had the combination plate with a beef taco, cheese enchilada, rice and beans) and I was perfectly fine before I ate dinner and had nothing else afterwards plus I was starting to feel a little sick while I was still here. The salsa in little bowls that you need to keep asking to refill, then had to ask for my drink to be refilled twice Brought my food and husbands bean rice and tortillas, waited 15 minutes for his fajitas, so what they brought was cold. Good Mexican food. Amazing service, amazing server! They have really hot hot sauce like tomatillos salsa if you ask. The server knew what a Michelada was! And it was spot on! I had the mole. Unfortunately, I find this with all restaurants up North, they don't take the time to actually serve shredded chicken. Instead it's like a cut up chicken breast, a disservice to the mole. The mole was good, not sure that was home made. Regardless, the best I have found in Montana so far. My husband had the combo platter. The enchilada, tostada, Taco, all done right. My husband and Dad and I went in for dinner around 6:00 p.m. on July 15th which is a friday. We were not greeted .we were asked to wait for almost 10 full minutes by the man at the desk when you first walk in because he needed to play on his phone. We were only given two sets of silverware when seated. A second person came up and turned out to be our waiter. He had to be asked three separate times to bring us a third set of silverware. He waited 10 minutes to ask us what we wanted to drink. He waited an additional 10 minutes to ask what we wanted to eat. I asked for a side of beans and a side of rice additional to my burrito and was told no I can't have it but that he could take the beans and rice out of the burrito and put it on a side plate so I politely accepted.He never offered more chips and salsa. It took 30 minutes to get our food out to us and in that 30 additional minutes we never saw the waiter ones. Our drinks were empty by this time and we had to ask for them to be refilled. After the food was brought out and the drinks are refilled we never saw the waiter again. I never even saw him serving other tables. Tonight, I called in order to find out if they did to go orders of chips and salsa. I had to call five times to get someone to answer the phone. When he did I politely asked if they did chips and salsa to go he said yes so I asked if you get a big bag of chips and a large container of salsa and how much it would be he said no I then asked what you get when you order a to go order of chips and salsa and his answer was no so I kept to rephrasing the question and he just kept saying no and then eventually said he doesn't speak English. I asked to speak with someone else and then he hung up on me. This place sucks! read more
