We were on a roadtrip from AZ to WA and had planned to stop at Fiesta Mexicana on our second day of driving. Tired, hungry, and needing a much needed break from the car, we pulled in and were expecting to compete for seats against the lunch time rush. Quite the opposite. The parking lot was completely empty and the bus was dark. We walked up to the door and a handwritten sign said "closed for two hours". Okay, what two hours ? When did that two hours begin and end? There was someone in the little shed adjacent to the bus but when we pulled in, he shut the door. No one came out when he saw us and another vehicle pull in ether. So we just stood there in the parking lot, looking at like other like, well, guess it's not happening today. We are frequent food truck patrons and understand that hours can be more unpredictable than a traditional brick and mortar restaurant. If you're going to be closed on a day when your hours are showing you're open, just communicate it better at the door for folks. Guess we'll try next time we come through. read more

What a lovely surprise. Because of the great Yelp reviews we stopped on a chilly day in November. Located inside an old bus, the menu is large for a 'truck' and the seating is bench metal along each side of the bus. Plus outdoor seating. Just not today. The crew in the kitchen are terrific and the food is very good. With some oddities. The Chile Relleno is poblano pepper with an egg over it. And the enchiladas are small with no real sauce. The beans and rice are perfect and the taste and quality of the food is wonderful. My husband had the carne asada and they were great. He really enjoyed it. I grew up in San Diego, so I know good Mexican feed. This taco bus comes close and is some of the better Mexican food in Montana. However, they could improve. I am already paying over $10 for a carne asada burrito that has rice & beans "filler" in it, you could make a bit more of an effort to remove the gristle from the carne. read more

As a southern California native, I am a bit of a Mexican food snob. I have found that during my many travels, the further you get from southern California, the harder it is to find good, authentic Mexican food. Enter the Mexican Food Bus, in Montana, no less. I have eaten Mexican food in restaurants, off of food trucks, and from roadside vendor carts, but never a bus. During my first visit, I walked on to the bus and ordered in the back where the kitchen is located. The staffs' English was a little rough, so I took this as a good sign. Plus, the food they were cooking smelled delicious. I ordered some carne asada tacos and they were off the chart great. In my many subsequent visits, I have tried various pork, beef, and chicken tacos and burritos and each item has been top notch. Coming from Los Angeles we are always hesitant to try Mexican food while we're on the road, but wow! The pictures of the food were what drew us in and thank goodness. This was truly authentic and felt like we're home. We ordered the taco plate so we could try a little if everything - carnitas, asada, pastor, rice, and beans. There was nothing we could complain about. Everything was delicious, melt in your mouth yummy, and quality! I wish I could have brought all those flavors with me past that dinner. I'm always concerned about getting food poisoning and I read one review dated a month ago that mentioned this. We took a chance due to many good reviews and, honestly, you can get food poisoning at anyplace, even home. Central CA natives, we know our authentic Mexican food. This place was delicious! We got the #9, chicken tacos and the carne asada tacos. Very good but could stand a little more heat. The pickled carrots were good garnish but not hot enough. We are in town for two nights and we might come back tomorrow and try another dish! Definitely give them a try. read more

The worker said to me that they ran out of gas & meanwhile were busy cleaning their equipment so what business are they really doing in food service if you're not prepared to serve hungry customers. What a great place! Had al pastor tacos and a few mulitas and a horchata-- all tasty! The truck is parked in front of a fruit stand with tables and umbrellas set up outside, making for a pleasant dining experience. Don't be fooled by its seemingly shabby outside - this place is fast, and quality Mexican! The bus is lined with brightly lit seating and a lot nicer on he inside than expected. We had the Enchiladas Verde and The enchilada with the cheese sauce, bot being rich, creamy, and excellent! We also had carne asada tacos, which were so good on excellent surely homemade tortillas, that I went back and got two more. The staff were also really nice and helpful! I was visiting from California and was having a massive craving for Mexican food, but that's not exactly something that is done well out here in Montana. Most places are pretty cringe worthy and not as "authentic" as what we're used to eating. Decided to chance it at "The Bus" after we saw how busy it was which is usually a good indicator! Also, the thought of a restaurant inside an old bus was too tempting to pass up. Prices were a little steep on most items, but burritos were about $6, which is average at most places. The staff was extremely friendly and churning out orders pretty quick. Food was pretty tasty. We both got burritos and demolished them in minutes. Fortunately they have outdoor seating if you don't want to feel too crowded inside the bus. I loved sitting with all the regulars who were chatting in a vibrant mixture of English and Spanish. All the dishes I saw people eating looked amazing. Definitely worth visiting! read more

This place rocks. My son is going to college at UM Western, and we have visited him quite often over the last couple of years. There has not been a time where I have not stopped here to eat. It is known in town as "the taco bus", because yes, it is a bus. There is bench seating inside, and tables outside when the weather is good. Grab yourself a 3 taco plate, maybe with carne asada, al pastor, chicken, pork, or picadillo (it comes served with rice, and beans, which are great also) you'll be happy as a clam. Enchiladas are also another menu item I enjoy. Would love to try other items, but I can't seem to get over ordering anything but the taco plate. Fill up your tummy with some great Mexican food. If you would have told me before my trip to Dillon that I'd find the best Mexican food ever this far North, I would have laughed at you. If you would have told me that I'd have the best Mexican food from a BUS, I would probably ask if you'd been drinking. Service is very friendly and fast. During our visit the line seemed to grow and then thin, and then grow again. They cook at lightning speed in the back of that bus. Orders are placed inside at the rear of the bus and picked up from the window to outside up the steps. (I hope that makes sense.) Beans and rice are full of flavor. I dined on hearty shrimp over rice with a delicious cream sauce. My travel companion had a burrito. We both left with full tummies and excited to come back. read more

This is not a traveling food truck, but a decommissioned bus (though it still has its tires) parked in a gravel lot on the main street at the edge of town, with a little seating in the front and outside and a kitchen in the back end. Nor is it a taqueria, but a full-meal Mexican restaurant with many meat and shrimp dinners.
