WE LOVE FIGMENT, we have been going to Figment for camps and birthday parties since my little boy was 3 (he is now 8!) we love how thoughtful and creative this place is and I LOVE all the cute pets she has for the children to cuddle or learn about caring for them. This is one of my son's favorite places and he begs to go each year for camps! No surprise as it gets booked quick! Here is a little more about this wonderful spot from the owner email: The Figment crew is excited to get started with this new school year and welcome our new families and kiddos into our creative space. I wanted to introduce myself, but I'm sure we will meet in person soon. My name is Amber and I am the founder/owner/lead animal wrangler of Figment. I started Wee Warhols (now Figment Creative Labs) out of my garage in 2013. I was doing process art and sensory play with my boys, then 2 and 3yrs old, and was encouraged by friends to share that experience with other kids. I love watching kids experiment and learn through play. They always amaze me with their creativity and sense of wonder. The business has evolved over the years as my boys have grown. I started adding STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) to make sure they were constantly being challenged and engaged. (I am one of the contributors to a STEAM Kids series https://steamkidsbooks.com/about-us/ ) The addition of all the animals came about when we were home during Covid. I realized how therapeutic it was to have the animals to care for and love. I believe having the animals around teaches the kids empathy and responsibility. I have a small farm at my home and plan to have the kids out for field trips when we get things fixed up a bit more. (Oh yes, I have a very loving and supportive husband, Jeremy who puts up with my long hours and many animals.) I couldn't be happier about how Figment has grown and evolved over the years. And now your kids get to become part of that! We have a lot of fun and creativity ahead of us. Amber Scardino @figmentcreative

This place blew me away and exceeded my expectations. It is a huge space with many different rooms and options including both indoor and outdoor spaces, live animals, crafts, art. They provided all the serving dishes, plates, cups, cake platters, cooler, etc for the party. They came up with a custom take home craft for the kids based on the party theme (rainbow fairy). The owners helped set up, managed the kids, led the craft, and helped clean up. The kids loved it and parents did too.

What age kids would this be good for? From the pictures, there are a lot of younger (3-5 year olds?) kids. Would and 8-year-old enjoy visiting?

Yes. We have kids up to age thirteen attending camp. We group kids into three different groups depending on age.

I was hoping to make more than just one small block and have different supplies like fabric for printing. It was very therapeutic to carve my small block. The class felt a little scattered - but it was a very easy going environment, super relaxed. Our instructor was friendly and encouraged us to tap into originality without overthinking it instead of looking up patterns or inspo on our phone. I really liked that. And she offered us all coffee, freshly made. You can basically come in to do all the arts and craft your heart desires, on a donation basis. Affordable and unique way to release your artistic side without investing too much in all the supplies and then an abandoning a hobby. I'd come back with a friend and check out a different class.

This is Laguna Gloria, and it features sculptures all outdoors. We ended up paying since we were already there. BUT Laguna Gloria is FREE on Thursdays. Other days is $10 pp and if you didn't pay in advance online, they can take payment at the gift shop. Though, I'm not sure how they enforce it because it looks like you can just pass by the gift shop and enter the park. As a former art student, I just wasn't that impressed or intrigued by the art. You have to walk a ways away to visit the next sculpture. They provide a map at the gift shop, but since I'm not good at geographic directions, I just allowed my husband to plan the walking route for us. We got to see all the sculptures (there aren't a lot...15?) In total, we were probably there for less than an hour. I didn't understand some sculptures. I saw a lonely, abandoned light pole covered with spiderwebs and joked to my husband, "look at this artwork!" It turns out, it was actually art because there's a sign next to it introducing the art piece and everything. Awkward. Anyway...appreciated walking around the grounds. My favorite is the crying Miffy fountain, which is one of the first things you see when you enter the grounds. Street parking only (unless you are an art student or staff there).

Our two-year-old only attended INIC for a few months in early 2022 and was in Toddler C. When we were just getting to know the school, Andrea (the director) was very helpful in answering all of our questions, provided us with a tour, and helped ease our concerns, this being the first time our son had been away from us for extended periods. During the first month, our son cried everyday, picked up different bugs, and struggled to adjust to the new environment. But everyone at INIC was so patient and understanding, working with us to get our son slowly acclimated to school. After about a month, our toddler started to look forward to school, especially to the special celebratory days. One day at home, he even started counting in Spanish. :-) Throughout this time, we got daily updates from his teachers, Ms. Karla and Ms. Estela, on how he was doing. When he finally started having good days, they were just as excited as we were, and it really felt like a partnership! It's about the people who manage INIC, particularly Yvonne Morales and Helena Diaz Gracian. When we enrolled our child, Yvonne told us on more than one occasion, there was a promotion offering 25% off for the first two months. That discount was a big factor in our decision to choose INIC over another daycare, given the large price tag parents are expected to spend for childcare. However, after the first month, we were charged full price. Only after repeated attempts to address the issue, was the discount applied the second month. On the third month, we were charged full price and told the discount was only for one month. They admitted the mistake of giving wrong information, but refused to honor what we were promised. The kicker? At the time of us trying to get them to honor their word, they were running the exact promotion they refused to give us. We tried repeatedly to resolve it, emailing, calling, and even speaking with staff in person. Each time we were told someone would get back to us, but nobody ever did. Eventually, they said there was nothing they could do and still charged us full price. They refused to make it right. Being lied to, and then ignored after trying so hard to get a fair resolution, was incredibly disappointing. It made us feel disrespected and taken advantage of, especially after trusting them with our child's care. In the end, not only did they fail to honor their word, they were dismissive and unprofessional. It felt like they didn't care about their customers at all. This was the worst administrative experience we've ever had. The teachers are fantastic, but the management's dishonesty and lack of accountability completely ruined our trust.
