Guidepost Bee Cave has provided an amazing Montessori education to our two children, ages 3 and 10 months, for the last year. Given our children's ages, we have experience in the Nido, Toddler, and Children's House programs and would highly recommend all three. We have also attended the Westlake Guidepost location and have experience at two other daycares prior due to moving, so we feel we have a good breadth of experience from which to recommend Guidepost Bee Cave. The new head of school, Mike, who took over this summer, is nothing short of amazing. He has a young child himself and has an operational background that really shines in every aspect of quality and consistency at the school. Other reviews mention staff turnover, which I can confidently state is a challenge for every childcare center (certainly for all four we have attended). What makes Guidepost Bee Cave stand out in this area is 1) knowledge transfer about your child's unique needs 2) training of new guides 3) quick action to remediate challenging staff 4) transparent communications. These are all due to Mike's leadership and we have been amazed at the quality care our children receive as a result. The guides care so much about the children and frequently communicate observations through written notes, photos, and verbal check-ins at pickup and dropoff. Even the guides at the school who don't directly oversee our children know our children by name and always speak with them, even if our child is acting shy lol. We particularly appreciate Ms. Mackenzie, Ms. Alyssa, Ms. Jessica, Ms. Ashraf, Ms. Lekha, Ms. Christine, Ms. Debra and Ms. Shanice, but there are really too many wonderful guides to name. I highly recommend this school for anyone wanting to raise confident, independent little people in an environment where practical life skills are taught and "I can do it myself" is a mantra. read more

Our child has attended Guidepost for 2.5 years and it's been a great experience overall. Most of this time has been in Ms. Ashraf's class (who we adore!). Ms. Ashraf is so warm and nurturing, and a true expert in child development and the Montessori approach. DO NOT GO! YOUR BABY WILL BE AT RISK If we could give zero stars, we would. This has been such a painful experience because we wanted to like this school. However, they have demonstrated they only enforce policies that benefit them, which directly puts your children at risk. We took our baby girl there (6 months old) for part-time care. For the first week, I transitioned our daughter slowly, taking her in for an hour and staying with her, then 90 minutes, then for 2 hours and staying outside. The final time she attended, she stayed in the class for 2.5 hours. Collectively, our daughter spent less than 20 hours in their classrooms. During this transition, the school permitted another child to attend who was obviously sick. Glassy eyes, green mucus pouring from his face...poor thing looked miserable - and they sat our baby little girl next to him sharing toys when I came in to get her. I was stunned. The following 10 days were terrifying. Our little girl became horribly sick, as did I and her dad. Their inability to enforce their sick child policy endangered our entire family. We missed work and racked up medical bills. When I contacted the school to let them know our baby was sick, they told us they had also sent the other student home later that day and he was out the rest of the week. But the damage was already done. We no longer believed our little girl was safe in their care. Instead of the leadership apologizing and returning any of our money - ($1,500 deposit & over $2,000 for a full month of tuition that went unused) they insisted the deposit was nonrefundable and refused to reconsider. Our baby girl spent less than 20 hours in their classroom and they felt justified keeping over $3,500 of our money, after they put our family at risk and after they admittedly failed to enforce their own sick child policy. The staff may be friendly, but their business practices are self fish, heartless and completely unethical. STAY AWAY. read more

Guidepost Montessori at Bee Cave is an amazing school! Ms Jessica, Ms Andrea and Ms Morrgan in children's house are amazing guides. My daughter has made so much growth and progress in terms of academics as well as character building. All of them are caring, kind and patient with my kid and have taught her to be the same. My daughter is extremely fond of Ms Jessica who is very experienced and knowledgeable in her job as lead guide and gives her 100% focus and attention to the children. Can't praise them enough! Mr Mike and Ms Nikita, the head and assistant head of school are warm, welcoming and friendly and handled all my requests in a fast and efficient manner. After so much research thought this Montessori is better for my daughters. but I was wrong. we had horrible experience. Completely unhygienic classrooms and restrooms they never follow their snack schedule all i hear from my kids they had same snack every single day. Both of my kids got sick every other day. Not even one toddler lead guides has Montessori experience. Most of the teachers are grumpy and don't seem like they want be there other than to collect their pay check. All Nido class rooms are poorly maintained. The new head have no idea about what school needs coz he have no experience working with school. All they care about is Money, being one of the most expensive school they don't have quality of education they don't follow Montessori methods. They hire bunch of non educated as a assistant guides who come to school as if they are going to a party. They have no structured routine. If you really want your child to be in a Montessori school Guidepost surely not the one. I really wanted to like this school more for my 2 year old and wish I had better things to say about it. I love the Montessori learning model but did not feel a lot of warmth and love from the staff. Eva at the front desk was super kind and helpful but she wasn't even her teacher and the two that were her teacher were not very kind or warm at all. My daughter would scream and cry getting dressed every morning and the entire drive so school because she didn't want to go. Then when we would get to school to drop her off- a lot of times no one would even be at the door to greet us or take her in. I don't know if they were understaffed and had their hands full but it felt unorganized and just a genera lack of care. One day when I went to pick up hutton they brought me the wrong kid that was the second week so I don't want to fault them too much but still came across as unorganized. read more

Things have been very different than what they promised during admission! Staff shortage is a BIG issue for them (for all classes). High attrition rate. Kids- guides ratio is not maintained as promised. No communication on kid's activity progress or no photos. Have seen more kids getting injured these days because of lack of staff. The previous head of school was literally non responsive. Kyndra- the new head promised a lot on joining but haven't been able to deliver anything! Our children have gone here from the start as babies and now into pre-k and we have been so happy with our experience. Especially lately. The early days were tough (2021 & 2022) as turnover and safety were both concerns I had and openly expressed. With the new leadership under Mike and Nikita (2023), and the fantastic teachers they've hired and retained, they have completely turned this school into a safe and thriving learning environment for the children. The teachers and staff are incredibly kind and patient with the children. The curriculum they teach not only gives them life skills and prepares them with advanced skills for primary school, but it also prioritizes teaching them to be good little people and leaders in their school community. Guidepost Montessori Bee Cave is amazing!! The entire team from the guides (teachers) to the school director, to the aides are so engaged, kind, and supportive. They set a warm atmosphere of inclusion and independence for the children. I can't believe the leaps and bounds in development our child has made there in just 5 months. The Montessori method encourages children's capabilities, independence, and helpful attitude. Would you like your 4 year old to volunteer to make themselves breakfast? Then this is the place for you. I also love the diversity of the staff. It is such a gift for our kids to learn from a team who represents many cultures, languages, and interests. Finally - for you working parents out there - the school takes minimal holidays. I think it is closed 5 days a year. That is incredible! The continuity of amazing care and learning can't be beat.
