We attended a wine tasting class and had a very good time with our friends. The owners create a welcoming environment and provide very interesting facts about wine. They are the experts you've looked for if you ever had questions about wine. There currently had 82 different variations of wine and 13 were tasted at the class. Most were 3 to 5 star in my book. It boggles the mind after tasting the Bellisima off dry red to see 20 five star reviews. Something smells. Perhaps some of their wines are ok but 5 stars??? We received the bottle as a gift and maybe visiting the winery might be a pleasant experience for those who don't know wine. This wine make $2 Chuck tastes like Caymus. We enjoy many $15 -25 bottles of wine. If this wine is under $5 feel free to ignore. read more

We went here for a private wine tasting today (there were about 18-20 of us, I believe you usually need 20 minimum for a private tasting). It was set up by a Yelp friend of mine (shout out to Erin K.!) and was a lot of fun. The owner told us a lot of history about wine and how to properly taste a wine. We had 15, technically 16, wines to taste, and the tasting was $15 each, which to me is a bargain - that's like $1 per taste PLUS you get goodies like a meat and cheese platter for each table, too. I had not previously been to this store before and I purchased a bottle of wine (red, surprisingly - I usually like white!) to take home too. Most bottles are $12-13 which is pretty reasonable considering they are bottled at the store. I'd definitely come back here for another tasting too. One tiny picky thing: the tables had a plastic covering over the tablecloth, and I was wearing a (not that short) dress ... kinda stuck to my knees! Maybe change to paper? :) read more

I came here last Friday as part of a Wine Lovers Meetup. We participated in a wine tasting class. The owner is a wealth of information about wine, the history of wine and the correct way to get the most amount of taste of each glass. I believe the class was full even though not every seat was taken. Which is dumb to me because in order to hold your spot, you have to give a credit card. We tried 15 different wines that varied in color and flavor. Part of the class was ranking how we though the wines were. I'm glad that I tried the class because it made me try some wines that I would not have normally tried. During the class, we learned why wine bottles are 750ml and how white zinfandel came about. Both of which I had no idea about. The wines are priced decently. They also have a bunch of wine based gifts. I will most likely be back. read more

Visited during a networking event. It is a cute place with lots for random wine paraphernalia. I was surprised to learn they made all of their own wines. Gerard the owner. Is very knowledgeable. Best winery I've ever been to! Tastings are phenomenal and super informative. Their tastings helped me learn how to enjoy different types of wine. Their wines are super cost effective without sacrificing quality!!! I only purchase wine from here (plus they don't add additional sulfites to their wine, so no wine headaches)!! Their gift shop is adorable. I just wish they sold more wine glasses that were not "gift" glasses, but beautiful glasses that are for everyday use. read more

Love this place! If you are looking for something fun to do, go to one of their wine tastings. For $20, you get to try 15 wines and learn all sorts of cool wine trivia and hear some great stories ! I went for a private tasting for a bachelorette party. It was really nice! We paid $15 per person and received 15 samples. Worth every penny! We tried many different wines starting from dry to sweet, reds, whites, and fruit wines. Everything we tasted was great, and we were taught how to properly taste the wine. Our tasting was about 2 and a half hours and we enjoyed every minute of it. There was no pressure to purchase a bottle after, but most of us did! If you dont got for a tasting, you can walk in a buy a bottle of your choice. You are allowed to taste before you buy so it takes the guess work out of buying! read more

This micro winery is a real find. I knew Gerard (he and his wife Tressa are the owners) as a teenager and hadn't seen him in more than 20 years when we reconnected at a bridal show a few years back. I learned all about his ventures with this winery that afternoon and have been YELPING about them ever since. There are so many things that I love about this winery beyond their wine -- which, by the way, has no sulfates (the stuff that gives some headaches). - You can always try it before you buy it. - You can make, bottle and label your own (great for weddings, parties, thank yous). - The wine tastings are a great night out for just $12 pp where they definitely welcome "newbies" to come and learn (and tolerate the wine snobs as they say). We took another couple in last week to try some of the new wines (they have more than 70 different wines!). The tastings showcase 15 different wines, a first hand look at the back room and a cheese/sausage plate. - The winery itself is a treasure trove of gifts for the wine lover and more. Now that I've gone on and on about my "old" friend's place, I must say that words here don't do it justice. You can sample before you buy them or participate in one of their many wine tastings (they also do fundraisers). You can buy bottles and create your own labels for unique gifts or party favors. I love the wine, the fun products & wine accessories in the shop, I love taking my friends for a wine tasting, and the owners are fantastic people I'm fortunate to have known for some years now. My only wish is that they'd open a second location in north Oakland closer to my house so I could hang out there more! I absolutely love this place! I first tried their wines when they had a table at a fundraising event where I work, and I was surprised to find that I liked EVERYTHING I tasted, even the white wines which I normally avoid. I bought a case of wine a little over a week ago, and it's already half gone because their wines are so good that even friends who don't usually drink wine have been drinking it with me! My sister brought me here for my birthday and we both had a great experience! Lynn was very helpful and attentive but not overbearing. They have a great variety from dry to dessert wines. You would never guess by looking at the storefront of the strip mall this store is located in that there is a gem hidden inside! When you enter you are immediately enthralled by all the great stuff they have related to wine. That does not even compare, however, to the knowledge of the staff! My husband has always hated wine and has never been able to share my love of it. When I called to ask about wine tasting I shared this with the owner and he promised he could find something my husband could share. HE DELIVERED. We have since been back for more bottles and my husband and I now each have a glass on the weekends. This is a must visit place!!! read more

AMAZING!! Everyone is very friendly and willing to help you find a bottle of wine for any taste. They make all the wines they sell on location. You can try the wine which is great, because who hasn't bought a bottle of wine only to find it undrinkable. They love to teach you about their wine as well. This is my favorite place. Every time I am in the area I purchase 2 or 3 bottles of wine, and I'm not a big wine drinker. The wine tastings are great and cheap, for 12 dollars you sample 15 different wines and learn about the wines as well as other wine information, you also get some small snacks and a coupon to use at your next visit. From fruity to dry, red to white, they have it all. Stop buy this place even if it is just for a sample. You have to check this place out especially if you need a bottle of wine to take to a friends house. My favorite wine is only 12.95 and I have purchased some that are 16.95, i don't think this is a bad price at all. A group of eight of us went to a wine tasting here in April 2012 and had one of the best times ever. The owner who ran the tasting sesion was very knowledgable and made it great fun as well. Some of the people had never been to a tasting before, and some weren't even wine drinkers - but between the atmopshere and delicious wines, everyone came out a fan. We got to try so many different types of wine, some I love and others I had never heard of! The selection of wine that they have there to purchase afterwards is quite diverse, too.
