This was my first time at Fin & Feathers. The atmosphere was okay and the waiter was friendly. Since I was getting an order to go, it was an in and out experience. The food was great and I especially enjoyed the Jerk Chicken Egg Rolls were great tasting with just enough spice for me. I also had some Catfish nuggets which was delicious as well. The pricing was good. Since I found out there is a location in Las Vegas, NV. I can check it out when it get cooler. read more

The experience I had at this place was horrible. First coming in there is a security guard to check IDs because you're supposed to be 21 and older to enter this facility. Then we got seated the booth was still dirty, dead roaches and ants on the table..The seats were ripped up very uncomfortable to sit on. We sat there for 10 minutes before we even got a server. We finally get a server. We order our drinks we order our food and then a party comes in and our server neglect us, and goes to the party. Get the party drinks get the party food order the party drinks come out. She hasn't been back to our table not one time we flagged her over. She said our stuff is coming then she went to pack a hookah for the party she never returned to our table. We just got up and left. I don't recommend this place at all because you'll be in there for hours with horrible service and dirty tables! The excuse was it's only 3 people working the front and that's fine. It's nothing wrong with being shortstaffed but go in the order that your tables are set to make the best impression. Oh my! We stopped in tonight to see our family who was traveling from Knoxville to Orlando, so Valdosta was a perfect stopping point. This was our first time into the restaurant, and it will not be our last. The food was fresh, chef inspired, and professionally prepared, we even had a moment to think the chef in person when he visited our table! From the Caesar chicken wrap to the roasted chicken thighs and salmon, everyone raved about their meals. And the weekday five dollar menu is an exceltional deal. It features several alcoholic beverages and small entrées paired with.fries that are all screaming deals. Their menu is creative, featuring wonderful items that are out of the ordinary. Our amazing server Zy truly made our evening memorable and wonderful. From fast refills to carafes to ensure we had extra, she treated us like family. First time visit, we had to knock on the door for them to unlock it a couple of minutes after opening, so not a great impression right off the bat. Food was great, no complaints there minus it being overly expensive. $12 for a SIDE of French toast, $6 for some cheese grits? Good lord. City prices weren't even that much. Service was less than subpar, probably because they added an automatic 20% tip no matter how many people were there or how good the service was. There's no reason why I should pay $15 for a tip when you barely did anything. We even had to pour our drinks... Like, come on y'all. The ambience.... There were cigarette burns all over the tables, holes in the chairs, we had to ask for a high chair once food came.... We moved from the city and got better service there. We went to the Fin and Feathers in Valdosta, GA and were we ever disappointed!! The service was terrible, the food had no flavor, and the bench seats at our booth were cracked upholstery. Kept having to flag down our waitress. The place was almost empty so no excuses for HER. Then to top the whole thing off...there was an 'automatic' gratuity on our bill of 20%!!!!! Just passing through Valdosta and stopped here for dinner. Josh (the host) was welcoming and accommodating when getting us a table. Our server, Lisa, was helpful with her suggestions and friendly. The food was very, very good. I had the catfish entree and my husband had the chicken thighs. We enjoyed a great pour of wine and left very satisfied. This was an experience! We arrived to several guys out front hollering at one another. Once through the door, we had to wait in line for everyone to get patted down and metal detected. Once through security, the space was LOUD and there were maybe a dozen patrons. The service was friendly, and the chef was adorable. You could tell she was proud of her food, and after having it, I can see why. Everything here was delicious, though I will say the wings were about the size of my thumb. I might not get those again, but the salmon and sides were all on point. While it was a little odd to go through the high security entrance, the food was good and the service was lovely. We stopped in at 5PM on a Friday. They had just opened and had a very small handful of tables. We sat at the bar. It was happy hour on several of the appetizers (catfish, chicken, tacos, etc.). The chicken thighs with fries, fried pickles, and shrimp tacos were fire. All well seasoned and cooked properly. I'd avoid the catfish. It has a really strange texture. Each dish was $5. The drinks were flowing as well. My friend and I got martinis for $5. Hers was dirty, mine was with a lemon twist. Both were generous especially considering the price. Now for the ugly. The service was awful. There were a ton of workers there but it was just painfully slow. I don't know if it was the kitchen for the food but it was definitely the bar tenders on the drinks. Now keep in mind they add a 20% gratuity automatically. I don't think I would have given that on this trip. ...and the space. This is definitely setup like a club. That's cool but you can't charge $38 for some chops in a club setting. People just aren't going to pay that (well at least this person). The blue light is a bit much. Kinda tacky. Overall, I'd consider coming back for happy hour; remembering to bring my patience. This is not the upscale dining experience I was hoping for. Valdosta could use a few more. Fin & Feathers is a fun club with a decent restaurant. Not so much my scene anymore but I'm glad the young people have a place to go that's not Remerton. read more

Let Me Just Say, I'm So Glad Valdosta brought this Chain Restaurant to the City! It is conveniently located at Valdosta's Mall. The Customer Service was Great. Our waitress checked on us a good number of times and they also separately have a "Hookah Girl" who caters specifically to Hookah. The Food was Chef's Kiss! and Fresh. The Drinks were Good. Depending on the Bartender, they are GREAT! The Hookah was very Smooth and wasn't too much. Now, the Vibe. The Vibe was THERE! Firstlet me tell you who we are. we come from a primarily white middle class suburb. so we were somewhat taken back by the patting down and metal dectector being used by security at the entrance. they did not do that to us we did not have a reservation but we were seated right away less than5minutes the club is loud and caught us by surprise that it was much more of a club than a restaurant of the type that we go to. service was fine the waitress even brought a bottle of water .Desani? I had the honey bourbon salmon and my wife had a salmon burger. my salmon was cooked to the right temperature and tasted good but perhaps a little salty the waitress was attentive andlooked like she really liked her job to sum it up the food was above average atmosphere was not for 70 year old retirees. the crowd looked like they were having fun. overall we were happy with our choice instead of Applebees, Outback.Texas Road House etc. that are found at every freeway exit. added a little bit of adventure to our boring ride back to Wisconsin. read more

Went for brunch for the first time today. Ordered one of the omelettes and my friend ordered the french toast. The omelette was impressively flavorful. Mild spiciness balanced out by a rich (but not overdone) sauce, and outstanding flavors that came through from the peppers, spinach, and parsley. This omelette has well thought out depth. Everything was placed over potatoes and worked together perfectly. By far the best breakfast I've had since moving to Valdosta. My friend said the french toast was wonderful as well. My mimosa was a step up as well and it was the perfect addition to my omelette. The music in Fin and Feathers is classic R&B and songs I haven't heard in a long time. 1st thing when walking in we were asked if we had any weapons on us! Next there were two of us, and we sat at the bar. A server/bartender/? Came up and put two napkins down and one menu. She did ask if we needed menus but only put one down. About 10 minutes later we still hadn't been asked about anything to drink, the music was so loud, we could barely even talk to each other. So we left! When we walked by the same ",bouncer" who asked us about weapons he never even asked us what the issue was as to why we were leaving. I call this place a fin and a feather. It caters to a specific crowd and I am not in this crowd. First, we were told they had no seating because of reservations and they sat us at a high table where the table top was not sturdy so it kept moving. Secondly, the music was just too loud and the hookah smoke should have its own designated area. We sat there for over an hour and a whole side of the restaurant had no guests but were told they didn't have seating. The food was mid at best. I ordered $29 shrimp and grits and got 4 small shrimp on a big plate of grits. My friend ordered some type of fish with a salad. They charge 20% gratuity in which the waitress told us that is split between all of the employees so she made us feel bad and gave her an additional tip for her alone. Dynamite shrimp tasted prepackaged and was served burned. Shrimp was like jerky. One appetizer was taken off the bill. My son was so hungry by the time we got our food, he ate it. I did not. Food did NOT look anything like advertised on website. Our server was very nice and capable but she was the only waitstaff on the floor. Service was very slow due to her not having any help. The NO SEATING was a lie it was not full and they closed at 12, why does a "section" cost $600?!
