this is a reply to the owner of Finders, keepers, who responded to my review. The owner says that my reply said the item was priced at $500. if she read my review correctly, she would have seen that I didn't say they priced it at 500. It says it was a $500 piece. Also my review was completely accurate and the picture frame was very damaged and they did Rush me out the door and I didn't have a chance to look at the piece until I arrived home. I had no interest in shopping, so I certainly did not browse at all! If I an able to post the before and after pictures, I will!! Also the blue tape was over area where they had partially pulled out the back hardware from the frame. and they also had torn some of the paper on the back, which was in immaculate condition with zero tears when I left it. her response was completely bogus and as usual no apology Now in response to Finders Keepers 2nd response. The Certificate of authenticity and information is on the back of the custom framed picture. 2nd, you obviously do NOT take reasonable care of your consignments!! THIS place is a scam for consignors. The owner speaks very rudely to you on the phone and in person, literally screaming. They do no advertising of your consignments, you'll have to pay to take your furniture there and she's discriminatory on who she will renew consignment contracts (3 month contracts). When I signed the paperwork, the employee said that they would renew my contact after the 3 months but after she already had my furniture in her store, she screamed at me at the top of her lungs and said I'm not renewing, you'll have to pick it up. Knowing that I was moving out of state. They called me constantly to find out when I could come back to Maryland to pick up the things so I arranged for Habitat Resale to pick up the items but she decided to sell them before they picked them up and kept the money for herself. I've already told former neighbors what happened and told them not to use her services and I would recommend that any seller that's moving to sell on Facebook Marketplace and don't waste your time or money with Finder Keepers. read more

Pros - Large variety of items, don't have to deal with pushy sales-people like you would in a furniture store Cons - A lot of items are outdated ( and never coming back in style), also a lot of items were in less-than-average condition. Regardless, all items are overpriced. TIPS - Visit often if you are flexible as prices will come down eventually. Buy right away if you find something you like that is from this decade or a quality vintage piece. I've seen sold stickers on items that I thought were actually worth buying. And that's about it. If I lived in the area and was able to frequent more often I think I would be able to snag some deals. They do not offer a wish list (where they contact you if an item you're looking for comes in) and also do not seem to bargain on pricing at all. read more

just now I absolutely love this wonderful consignment store. I have consigned for over 10 years with the gang here. Their practices are fair and consistent. The ladies are friendly and helpful. I am thrilled they reopened and seem to be going strong. My family and I have sold a tremendous amount of items through consignment and received more than fair return. I used to go to this store A LOT. I have a problem with the poor reviews some people have left. I found some amazing buys there. I do NOT think they are overpriced - at all. There are amazing things there a good deal of the time. Some things I loved that I could not afford - however, some great estate pieces were found at unbelievably low prices too. It all depends on what is on the floor when you visit - so if you're looking for something in particular - visit often. When I lived in Hagerstown I tried to go once a week. This store always has a great selection of furniture, many really nice things. Two things about the place bothers me. First the owner is a bit rude and never seems like she wants to be bothered to help anyone. Second, when I was considering buying a chest of drawers I asked the owner what kind of wood is it. She said she didnt know but the top is a laminant. I bought it anyway and later found it is solid maple. ( good for me). My bigger problem is if she is selling and pricing the furniture how is she going to price it fairly if she doesnt know what she is selling. read more

Worst customer service just received from a part-time worker named Michelle. She was rude and very disrespectful in answering a price question. Told me she answered my question and I need to come back next week and talk to the owner. Guess my cash isn't good here. Done. i like this store. True, the clerk isn't warm and fuzzy, but she does give help as needed and I've never had a problem. The prices are very good and the quality is too. I shop carefully, and have bought a number of nice things for my home. I try to get by at least once a month, it's way on the other side of town from me now. They are picky about what they accept and the prices are fair, sometimes they are amazingly inexpensive.
