We needed to get something for a party so we came here. We don't drink that much so we're not familiar with all the different types of spirits. We walked around the store looking at what they had and at some of the cool looking bottles. Someone asked us if we needed help (I think he was the owner), but we told him that we were just looking. They have an area in the back that's set up for samplings but it didn't look like they had been used for a while because there were a lot of things stacked on it like it was an extra storage space. We finally decided on a bottle & brought it up to the register. The guy was really nice and told us that they have the largest selection of whiskey in the state. If they don't have it they will order it for you. The owner is a great guy with lots of knowledge about his trade. He can recommend options for almost any spirit or wine. They have frequent tastings for wines and spirits to let you experience something new or different. I prefer Scotch or Bourbon and he always amazes me with his selections. This review has been a long time coming. I've lived in Rock Creek most of my life, my family used to shop here as their neighborhood liquor store and when I was of age, it became the store I shopped at. It was so great, that I ended up working here for half a year while I was in college. Harm (Harmeet Aurora) is a master of his craft. He truly knows his product and can recommend you just about anything. He listens to his clientele and gets a feel for what they like. If they're adventurous, he turns them to something a little bit different, if they like to stick to something they know he'll offer suggestions that closely relate to it. He throws some of the best tastings too, I've had the privilege of not only working some of these tastings, but being a guest at them too. There has never been a time where Harm has suggested something I've not liked. His latest recommendation to me was a bottle of Frapin VSOP Cognac. FANTASTIC. Drinks more like a Napoleon or XO. Smooth and amazingly refined. He always gives me a loyalty discount too which really helps. It's worth mentioning that he has largest selection of single malt scotches in South Florida. If you're a scotch/whiskey guy, I assure you he has what you're looking for. If he doesn't have it on the shelf, 99% of the time he can easily order it for you. His customer service is great and when he is there he always treats his customers awesomely. I love the tasting area in the back. Where else can you sample a rotating selection of fine wine, scotch, and rum?! It's nice to see small shops like this flourishing. With places like Total Wine killing the market sometimes, it's hard for small boutique shops like this to flourish. We need shops like this though, a good 80% of what Harm carries can't even be found at Total Wine. His wine selection is on point too, he has some gems in his collection and I love seeing the wines still in their wooden cases. As a former employee and life long patron, I can honestly say that he has earned my business for as long as I can drink....and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon! read more

I LOVE single malt scotch and this place is AWESOME! I don't need a bigger place because they have a selection that blows away any of the chains. Multiple offerings of hard to find distilleries for scotch, bourbon, rum, any many other spirits. The owner really knows his stuff and can point you in the right direction for whatever tickles your fancy. The part that makes this even better are the two tasting machines in the rear of the shop. It costs a few bucks but you get to sample a number of different wines, rums, scotch, well.... you get the point. FS is a good liquor store. Their shelf selection is VERY respectable. Oftentimes, I will see some good stuff sitting on their shelf when I stop in for a peek. I've seen the likes of a 1.5L Willett Pot Still. A couple bottles each of Orphan Barrel's Rhetoric & Lost Prophet. Eagle Rare 10yr. Just to name a few. They have a tasting section where you can purchase a sample from their selected bottles any time. FS also puts out many events. Just refer to their calendar online to see what fits your liking. Overall, FS will always be a go-to for my snobby needs. read more

This has to be the most run down liquor store in the area. I was not welcome with friendly service and the owner of the store knew nothing of what I was looking for. Bottom line, there are bigger, nicer liquor stores just in the area. Not only that, they have nice employees and the building is not labeled as just ... "liquor". Never going back and I hope to save you the trip. Edit: you see this? Is this a way to treat a new customer? I arrived here not months from this incident. So of course I still had my Texas ID, the owner of the store claims I don't have some special UV light pattern on my ID... I'm like look, it has a magnetic strip, scan it? Anyway he refuses to do so, and I of course get upset. So he immediately calls the cops and tells them I'm trespassing!!! If this is how the owner of this "liquor" store handles the problems that arose only out of his own asinine judgments. The actions speak for themselves, and this review will remain. I hope I can save people the trouble of going to an overpriced underserviced location, who obviously cannot graciously handle problems, much less read an out of state ID. read more

I have been to many liquors stores through out S. Florida, but have never experienced the "Personal Attention, Customer Service and Warm Feeling" that I received from this merchant. From the moment you enter the store their greeting is friendly and warm and they always ask if they can help you look for something. They have a great selection of wines and liquors, and very fair prices. The owner H and those who work there are very knowledgeable. So, if a special occasion arises and you're not sure what type of cocktail to serve or take as a gift, they will ask what type of occasion, what type of food, they will know the perfect match. Or, if you are just interested in trying something new, H will always give you his honest opinion, there is nothing in his store that he hasn't tried. Also, they have an awesome seating area with high top tables, a wine carousel and a whiskey carousel. You just purchase a card for a few bucks and this allows you to try bottle before you buy it, brilliant idea!!! Okay, I have a strong suspicion whoever wrote the other negative reviews--see Michael W. and Michael I.--have got to be 19 year old kids who had their ID's taken away. This place is a TREASURE. The owners are incredibly knowledgeable--heck, I understand they served Willett bourbon at their own wedding, and if that's not a sign of a true aficionado, I don't know what is--and anyone questioning their selection is crazy. I have, variously, purchased some of the hardest-to-find liquors around there--and, particularly, the scotch and bourbon selections are AMAZING. This is THE best liquor store in South Florida. I continue to return to this store year after year when I am in town, as not only is it stocked to the gills with an unbelievable selection of wines and tequila, which I love, but the owner has never failed in suggesting amazing wines, tequila (Hurrah for Riazul Anejo!) whisky, and cognac. The enomatic machines in the rear of the store give us the opportunity to sample a small quantity of the wines and whisky so that we know what we're buying. Over the years, the owner knows our particular tastes, and can point us in the direction of ones we would love, and he has never been wrong! That kind of personal service is hard to come by, and we always feel at home here. Something extra that I'd like to point out about this place is the Food and Wine Pairing Events they have frequently. We have friends who have attended a couple of them, and love it every time (It has sure opened my sister's palate to new wines!). My husband and I attended one last summer, and the chef, who had not known that we were vegetarian/vegan before we arrived, adapted all of the courses for us, which we truly appreciated! We have spent the last three nights enjoying different purchases from the store, and each and every item has been perfect, from the Orin Swift Abstract the night we arrived to the 2004 Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin we had to celebrate an anniversary last night. With his recommendation I was able to bring a wine to a blind tasting that beat out all other wines for first place. I called ahead of time to see if they carried Jelinek brand Slivovitz, since I was having a hard time finding it near me. They said yes, they carry 3 skus. I went there today and lo and behold, they also had Zachlawi Arak and KOSHER Ouzo by Metaxa!!!! So I bought way more than I should have, service was excellent, they have more varieties of booze packed into this store than some liquor stores have in 3x the size stores. This place is probably one of the best liquor stores I have ever been to. It's not the biggest but they had by far the most extensive offerings of good Scotch, Bourbon and Rum I have ever seen in a single location, including the big liquor stores. The big stores may have more in terms or volume, but this place really has all the hard to find and top shelf items which are few and far between at some of the really large stores. The manager who was there was extremely knowledgable and was very helpful in offering suggestions and information. At no point did I ever feel rushed or pressured into anything. When you're in business, whether you're buying a cheap bottle or the most expensive bottle in the house you should be treated with courtesy. I'm a local and the several times over the years I've been there it's always the same exact rudeness. No matter who's there, the Rude owner or the staff. Like they're doing ME the favor, of me paying them 40% over market value for liquor. Prices are outrageous, service stinks. I've been a customer here for a little over a year. I discovered the shop while waiting to get in at my barbershop in the same plaza. I was impressed with their spirits selection-- they carry small batch spirits that you won't find in the larger chain stores. That selection is what kept me coming back since it is not in a convenient location for me. I recently became a member of the rewards program, which sent me a promotional offer via text on my next purchase. When I brought my things to the register, the clerk, moving as slow as molasses, questioned me repeatedly about whether the phone number tied to my account was, in fact, my real number. It seemed like she was t the least suggesting that I was not answering truthfully. It struck me she was skeptical and made me feel like I had to justify myself as a customer. That felt bad. After slowly ringing up my items, she gave my the total was $136, and after applying the discount of 12% that I earned the total would be $128. I pointed out that her math was not correct. Another several minutes passed and she clicked on the register. Finally she told me the total would be $140--even higher than the first price quote. At that point I had spent 10 minutes at the checkout with an employee who could not communicate effectively or use the POS system or do arithmetic. I lost patience and left the store. I cannot imagine going back after this incident. IMO this seems like an opportunity for employee training. read more

During our first week in Florida, my girlfriend wanted to get some angry orchard hard cider, but all the liquor stores by our house were closed. She was in a really depressed state as the weight of living on her own and away from her family had just started to settle in. Searching for an open liquor store, I came across this amazing store. We walked in and right away we were asked if we needed any help, we said no of course and went to grab a cold 6 pack. My girlfriend, feeling homesick, didn't want to go home to have a drink as it would just make her feel more depressed. That was when Harmeet, the owner offered us the option to stay and have a drink or two at the tabled section. He offered us each a cold glass to put our drinks in and asked if we would like to join in the game cards against humanity. My girlfriend still sulking, kindly refused. Two minutes later Harmeet, still seeing that she was distraught, told us to get our ass' over to the table and play. We met his wife Shanon and friend Jeff.( I believe that was his name) Never playing this game we had no idea what to expect, but all I can say is their hospitality along with a very thought provoking game turned my girlfriend's mood totally around. We had a blast with them and it was that instant that I knew this is the best place to give your business to! That experience changed the whole funk my girlfriend was experiencing and brought about a strong optimism about what Florida has to offer. Don't waste your time reading those lame 1 or 2 star reviews, for those people have no idea what they are talking about. Absolutely horrified by the "customer service" at this place. Usually after having a bad experience somewhere, I compose myself and I don't act in a way that can hurt someones business, but after being treating like an annoyance twice in this place I have to speak my mind. If you want to be treated with respect when you are buying liquor do not come here, the woman that works there is miserable and if you ask a simple question you get a 1 word answer and she will go back to do whatever it is she is working on. One thing that could have changed my experience here is I don't know... maybe trying to help me find something instead of getting annoyed with my (simple) questions. In all honesty the staff is great except for her (she is always there with someone else) so good luck trying to get around the negativity that is her. Sorry for the bad review but hopefully after this things will change because it honestly isn't a bad shop, the prices are fair and they have a decent inventory, I just don't like being treated badly when I am at your store to spend money. read more

This place has always been the closest liquor store to my house since I moved backed to the area (my hometown which I love) from Santa Barbara when I turned 24. Not too much to say about the goods or the store itself.. your standard market products you'd expect at a decent market price for everything. What really brings the 1 star rating home for the Fine Spirits team is their ever-ignorant and age discriminant staff. For years, I've gone to this store about twice a month to get a small bottle of whiskey and almost every single time, what should be a simple and mundane run to the store, turns into a stressful scenario. There have dirty scowls, questions of my I.D.s authenticity, refusal to run my debit card, rushed browsing, strange/inappropriate questions during checkout, and an overall feeling like they didn't want me or my money in their store. Why? I have no idea other than to surmise from similar stories from other individuals between the ages of 22 - 27, that they are age discriminant. It seems if you're a certain age, this place is great! Instead of scowls you are greeted with smiles and encouraged to stay for a drink....it can even be a hang out...on one experience there was a man out front drinking bourbon from a glass who, in a belligerent manner, said some pretty explicitly inappropriate things to me. It seems that when I get to around his age this can be a pretty friendly place but for now, it's time someone said something because it's deplorable. If a patron enters an establishment with respect, they should be treated with respect. My simple hope is one day I'll be able to go to the liquor store down the street, pick something out, pay for it, and leave without being hassled. read more
