What should've been a simple 30 minute, $20 bulb replacement turned into a $200 plus very time-consuming ordeal. Apparently, when replacing the bulb, the technician damaged the socket so that it would work intermittently. When I left the shop, it was working. The next day, it wasn't. I went back to the shop where they replaced the bulb thinking that the one they had installed the day before was faulty. Again, when I left the shop, it was working, but the next day, it wasn't. I returned to the shop a third time. In an attempt to isolate the problem, the technician switched the left/right sockets and, in doing so, damaged the other socket as well, so that it too would work intermittently (i.e. sometimes both would work; sometimes neither would work; sometimes one would work but the other one wouldn't). I returned to the shop several more times to try to get the problem fixed, but each time, same thing... it would work for a day or two, but then would stop working. I was at my wit's end. They couldn't seem to find/fix the problem and, frankly, I was just tired of dealing with them. Finally, I went to the Hyundai dealership where the technician told me that the sockets had been manhandled and damaged as a result, and that they both had to be replaced to the tune of about $250. I bit the bullet, paid, and have had no turn signal problems since. I did return to Active Green and Ross to let them know what had happened. I told them I was not expecting compensation, but that I thought they should know. The owner apologized, smiled, and shook my hand. I left never to return.

    SimplyTire - The date of manufacture (read 12th week of 2023) was less than 5 months prior to installation, so this is a new, "fresh" tire.

    It's a no brainer to come here for your tire and rim needs.. and wants. They post all their prices…read moreonline and answer emails quickly. Their service is quick, clean and efficient. They offer to tighten your bolts after 400km as well. They also don't try to push the most expensive tire on you. Tell them what you value most and they will suggest the best for you. A quiet comfortable tire with long lasting treads are what most people want. They have a nice waiting room as well with complimentary tea and snacks in a room with a TV. I don't think their prices can be beat for the service you get.

In contrast, SimplyTire is professional and transparent. Their website provides out-the-door pricing, and everyone, from the front desk to the person working on your car, is knowledge about tires. When we went to an automotive chain store, they installed 5-, 6-, and 15-year-old "new" tires! But we didn't realize this until 20 months later, when we started having issues with the tires. SimplyTire was just as angry as we were at the situation. They highlighted the dangers of such old tires: the rubber breaks down and the risk of a slow leak or blow out increases drastically. This posed a danger to us, as well as others on the road! Thank goodness my dad doesn't drive on the highway. SimplyTire installed tires manufactured less than 5 months prior, and showed us the DOT and date code for each tire! They were considerate of our time and our situation. I highly recommend the knowledgeable, skilled, and transparent professionals at SimplyTire.

    Recently had a great experience with Karl from Rim & Tire Pro…read more I had 2 sets of 4 rims off snow tires from two old vehicles i recently sold. Had called around to a 12 different used tire places looking to trade them in for rims that would fit my new vehicle for my new snow tires. Some said they had to see the rims first, others weren't interested cause they said there was no interest in the sizes i had, and most didn't offer a trade in option. Karl was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Provided new and used rim options, took every one of my half dozen phone calls (and the one i called after hours and didnt leave a message, HE even called me back), answered my millions of questions, and in the end took all 8 of my old rims and gave me a trade in credit for them. When i confirmed i was coming from Oakville to trade in my old rims, buy the new ones and have him install and balance the winter tires, but might be too close to his closing time, he said no problem. When i arrived, he took me right away. Told me on the phone it would be 1hr to 1.5hrs to complete and he had it done in 45mins. I felt like i got the run around from all the other places i called, or they make me feel like i was too much trouble to deal with. But Karl was helpful and got the job done without any attitude or head ache. I would use them again, and would definitely recommend to anyone in need of auto expertise!! :)

    I only managed to book an appointment at Rim & Tire Pro after 4 hours of either being put on hold…read moreor being promised a call back. After finally getting through, I was given an appointment of 10am on a Saturday. The waiting room was absolutely frigid and quite uncomfortable, which wouldn't have been so terrible if I hadn't had to wait 2 hours past the scheduled appointment time before they finally began installing the new tires. It was at this point when the gentleman handling the transaction flatly refused to honour the terms and conditions set out on a couple of coupons we had purchased to use towards a new set of tires. Frustrated and tired of waiting, and now unable to purchase the tires with the assistance of our paid-for coupons, I had them replace my old tires and left. My suggestion to this business is not to put out paid-for coupons on deal sites which your employees will then turn around and refuse to accept. They've lost my business permanently. Edit: I've just noticed that a full year after my review, the owners have responded to this. Nowhere in the terms and conditions did it stipulate one coupon per customer, and the limit of coupons available to purchase per person/per transaction was two. That would lead any rational person to believe that they could buy -AND- use two. They changed the wording on the group coupon sales site and on the coupon itself AFTER my visit to stipulate the one per transaction rule. Sorry, but your business failed to make any restrictions known, and wasted a whole day of my time. I don't feel too upset that you also wasted your own labour, nor am I completely blown away by your ever so gracious gesture of taking your tires back off of my vehicle. You were slow to respond when I attempted to give you my business, and waited an entire year to respond to my complaint. Not impressed.
