I tried it and it was dull and old (it is a regular on tap for about a year). Called hoping to get a fresher one. Was told "nope" and I should be grateful as the other one was 4 months old. I asked if there were ANY IPAs (not just the brand I bought) available that was fresh and a different guy (manager?) picks up and tells me no, all their IPAs in kegs are 5 to 6 months old. Either he wanted to get me off the phone and not try to make it right or he was telling the truth. Either way, I've found a new distributor. Thousands spent supporting the local, gone in a phone call. Any yes, contacted them via email and waited a week. No response. Old stale kegs, bad poor customer service. Bye.

I went in to buy a slushie and he told me about all of the new flavors and gave me his personal recommendations. He offered me samples and joked around with me as I taste tested. When I apologized that I had no cash for a tip he said he doesn't work for tips. He was just happy to help me. He shook my hand and said he was happy to meet me. And wished me a great day. I was determined though and found $1.50 in coins and two free drink tokens for the Alliance Fire Hall in my purse to offer him. LOL I hope to run into him there to thank him again. GREAT STAFF! They sell brands like Skinny Girl, Cupcake Wine, Barefoot Wine, Yellow Tail, etc. They do have a "premium" wine section, which mostly includes Napa Valley wines covered in a thick dust, that range in price from $20-30. There's a small chilled wine case with the same dismal selection. I got an overpriced Chateau St. Michelle chardonnay and vowed that I would not come here again.

Even though it's a smaller place, they have a decent selection, though you might need to go somewhere bigger for rarer imported beer. If you're looking for standard beer, though, Sewyco is sure to have what you need. Prices aren't any different than any other distributer around here, sometimes a little cheaper, sometimes a bit more expensive, but never by enough to make me go somewhere else.

Yes, they have a huge prepared food area with an impressive array of meats, cheeses, sandwiches, pizzas, bakery goods, etc. and a nice sit-down area. But we found a lot of the pricing on the high side (a BLT for $12.50?). The staff seemed friendly. Our brief visit to the grocery section revealed a number of items we find cheaper in the Northeast. This is a big store to be sure, but we didn't come away terribly impressed. Maybe we'd come back and explore more? But there isn't a Wegman's anywhere near us, so this is it for now.

I am visiting from out of state and find the liquor laws in Pennsylvania to be quite bizarre. For…read moreexample, you can get hard liquor from a state run store, but no beer. Most grocery stores and drugstores don't sell liquor of any type and those that do don't sell hard liquor. Fortunately, I found Pennsylvania Avenue when I had a hankering for some beer. The proprietor was friendly and laughed when I expressed my surprise about the liquor laws. We then explained the craziness and how his beer was fairly priced. I picked up two 6-Packs for my stay in PA for me and my son to share. Since I was out of state he gave me a free bottle opener. I will be back to Pennsylvania Avenue next time I am in town.
