The staff in the train and at the winery were all very friendly. We tried several wines at both locations and they all are very good. BUT .... You must try their Wine Ice Cream. Problem is there arent too many places in Johnstown (or Pennsylvania for that matter) that sale beer other than bars. So i go to the friendliest distributor in town. Bargain Beer. They have everything from all your domestics to rarer beers and of course my love, Guiness. Its at a great locations and the outside is a poster board for their weekly specials and new adds that you may be interested in or looking for The best novelty about this place is they have a drive thru. You can pull right up to the window. I mean how convenient is that?!?! You dont even have to get out of your car to get drunk. Lol. JK. I dont do that. The service is super friendly and very knowledgeable about their beers and beer specials. They also sale kegs and were nice enough one time to let me borrow a dolly so i could transport and load my own keg. I am a customer for life!!!

This one had a fairly decent selection and the staff was incredibly friendly. I went to buy 2 slightly unusual liqueurs and they had both in stock. As I now live in FL I continue to be shocked that PA still has state run liquor stores or extremely limited private stores. When is PA going to move into the 21st century and have all private (free market) liquor stores ? Somebody must be making a LOT of $$ off this set-up. Otherwise, it makes zero sense. Crazy. Just one reason that I'm glad I left this state many years ago.

The attached bar also brings a warm home town inviting atmosphere to the space. Between the events and the warm inviting customer service it is very much a place to feel relaxed. They have a number of exciting events and bands that are fun and inviting for all ages. It's never the type of bar to have any riff raff only good times and smiles. The bartenders are always kind and personable as well. They have a wide selection of different cocktails and also have the option to purchase any moonshine you might fancy at the time. The best way I can describe this place is an environment of coming home. Highly recommend. In addition I know in about a month they will be offering food as well which I'm sure will be to the standard of the rest of the vibe

What a fantastic place!…read more Randomly found this place on our travels and decided we had to stop in and give it a try! They had live music and a really nice selection of drinks and specials! The prices were super affordable too and there's tons of parking (and it's free)! If you want a special drink not on the menu the bartenders can mix something up for you. Everyone in the bar was friendly and welcoming, felt like a neighborhood bar! If we lived in the area we'd be here all the time! Alsoooooo.... We got super lucky and the owner of the distillery took us on a backstage tour of how they make their moonshine and the history behind the place! Highly recommended!

When in the long run I am actually saving money when it comes to comparing that to how much I actually spend when I buy beer one by one in a bar. Maybe I'm use the the instant gratification that I get by having a nice cold beer in my hand at the bar that I'm usually hesitant to go to a beer distributor. Alas, I digress. Having been off from work on a recent weekend I decided that I would indulge myself and buy a case of beer. Now, in case I haven't said it before, Johnstown is over saturated in places to purchase any type of alcoholic beverage. You would think that if this were the case that there would be competitive pricing, but that is not the case. Most places the pricing is the same for the same exact product. The one thing I didn't like about this place is that it is basically a guessing game as to the pricing of the product you want to buy. Aside from the few signs hanging from the ceiling that might tell you the pricing of a "special" they are having, you have no idea what you are paying until you reach the register and pay. The staff inside were nice and you can tell that this place gets a lot of return customers. Some were greeted when they walked in the door. I don't know about you, but I'm still debating if that is a good thing or if that is an indication that some people have a problem. Parking is a bit wonky for this establishment. You can park in front of the main entrance if you like, but to get back on the road you really have to time it perfectly with the traffic signal up the road. You will have to back out on the road and hope you don't get hit or hold up traffic. Or you could park like I did. Go to the street beside this rather small plaza and walk up to the store. Honestly this is easier, and in my personal opinion, safer. I don't remember seeing soda in here, but I kind of had a one track mind. Who needs soda when you got beer?
