Dr Ritting is a great surgeon & very present. He cares as do his Physician Assistants. That said,…read moresome of the staff are RUDE AND INEPT I asked them to call my pain prescription over to the pharmacy and they took an hour to do it. Then they forgot to include the insurance information. Then when I called them back and explained that they should have included all that insurance information she told me that I needed to learn to advocate for myself at some point. Let me explain one thing. I am a 56-year-old woman who has had 14 surgeries. 3 of which were shoulders. I think I know how to advocate for myself. The staff needs to learn how to do their jobs. She was so rude I would never say that to somebody not 24 hours post surgery. FUCKING RUDE AND INEPT!!!

Overcrowded and absolutely no place to park my car. It has been better the last two visits. Dr. Klein is very knowledgeable and gave me options. The trouble is, I injured by foot. Something snapped. I am in a lot of pain. I called for an appointment, the receptionist said the foot doctor was in, just a moment and I will make sure he can see you. I sat on hold for 6 minutes. She gave me an appointment at 2:45. Just as I am about to leave for the appointment, the Office called to cancel my appointment with the excuse that I am Dr. Klein's patient I must see him another day. I work, and not in Geneva or Clifton Springs. I have been waiting all day. She said she was SORRY and hung up. I called back and cancelled my October surgery consultation. I will go somewhere else. Patients are consumers, I will go where I feel I am respected.

My surgery date was August 17th 2023 and found out then that I was in the best hands possible. He repaired my shoulder with pines and plates and a bone graft. He then sent me hone with a Breg cold care machine to help with the pain and swelling. At first I though I would never have full use of my shoulder again but boy was I wrong! A year later and several months of physical therapy later, I'm at almost complete range of motion! I couldn't have seen a better surgeon! Dr. Privitera is strict but he works with you. He only wants the best for his patients and really pushes for improvement. It was physically and mentally rough at time but I got through it with flying colors. If you've seen Dr. Privitera, you already know how wonderful he is. Just know that if you're having a rough time post surgery.. He's got your back. You can and will get through it... just be patient and trust in the doctor. Thank you Dr. Privitera for everything you have helped me get through this past year.

The surgery was performed in the fall of that year. After several months of rehab, the shoulder continued to cause pain and would even dislocate. After another evaluation by the first surgeon it was determined that another surgery was needed. We decided to seek a second opinion based on our previous experience and were recommended by a friend to WCCH. That is where we were introduced to dr. Privitera. He immediately made a great impression on my husband and I and most importantly on our son. After reviewing all of the Imaging and the prior operative reports dr. Privitera consulted with colleagues and decided to proceed with a quite expensive open bankart repair of my son's right shoulder. The surgery was performed in January of 2020 and after several months of rehab and physical therapy my son returned to the mat in October of that year. On January 3rd 2021 he wrestled in his first match in over two years without any pain in his shoulder. We can't thank Dr Privitera enough for getting my son back to the sport that he has loved since he was 7 years old. He is continuing to get stronger and we hope that success will follow. We have never regretted our decision to have dr. Privitera do the second surgery. He is a very caring surgeon who understood the importance of returning my son to the mat. He was extremely thorough during the surgery and took his time and did everything that was needed to ensure that his shoulder would be intact through a Collegiate sport that causes many strains on that joint. I recommend dr. Privitera to anyone who is looking for an orthopedic surgeon!!!!

Disrespectful of patient's time…read more This is the second time that I've left this office without seeing a doctor after being left in an exam room for over an hour. My appointment was scheduled at 8:30 on a Monday morning specifically so there would be less chance that the doctor was behind and so I could make it to work at a reasonable time. They request that you arrive early so that you can complete paper work. I checked in online and arrived early as requested. After a short wait I was taken to an exam room where I had blood pressure taken and then another assistant asked about symptoms. I then waited until 9:30 (an hour after my 8:30 appointment time) before asking if there was any idea of when I'd see a doctor as I needed to leave for work. I was told someone should be in soon and she'd tell her (Dr. Blake) to see me next. I waited until 9:45 but had to leave for work. I find it unacceptable to make patients wait for 1:15 minutes to see a doctor. We have jobs and our time is precious. Serious improvements are needed to the scheduling process. I will not be using Ithaca Orthopedic Group again.
