Since it's a straight shot path between East & Alexander and my apartment, it's a convenient spot for me to grab some food before passing out at home. Mr. V's has a variety of offerings, ranging from hotdogs, sausages, burgers to chicken and pulled pork sandwiches. My go-to is the Italian sausage all dressed with red peppers and Rochester's meat "hot sauce." That will soak up the alcohol! Everything i've tried so far tastes delicious. But please keep in mind that this is at 2AM after a few drinks. I've truthfully never been completely sober while standing in line for Mr. V's. Sometimes it comes down to Pita Pit vs. Mr. V's and oftentimes, Mr. V's wins.

They were parked outside the Market office (next to the guy hawking boxes after boxes of miscellaneous things ranging from bras to peelers). Their menu was fairly limited - they had the tawook pita or the beef pita - both $5ish. I got the tawook pita - extra spicy (obviously). It was chicken marinated in yogurt and spices, cooked on a grill. Then they build the pita with lettuce, tomato, onions (tossed in tangy sumac), garlic sauce and a 'spicy' sauce. After rolling the pita, they put it on the grill to put some grill marks on the outside. I couldn't believe how good it was. So, I did all the Yelpers a favour (yeah, right.) and went back yesterday. They were in the same-ish location and were giving away samples. Most people declined (who says no to free meat?!) but not me. I tried the beef and it was good - mildly spiced and flavourful. While I was waiting, a lady wanted the beef pita but without the pita. They obliged and made her a salad of sorts without the bread. I ordered 2 tawook pitas and chatted with the 2 guys manning the grill. They mentioned they were Iraqi and just started the food cart 3 weeks ago. They hope to open a brick and mortar location eventually. My boyfriend was very lucky as I actually let him have one of the tawook pitas and he loved it as well. He described it as "flavourful and garlicky". I hope they will eventually add to their menu and open a restaurant - we could use a good Middle Eastern place in Rochester!

I stopped at this truck yesterday afternoon while making my weekly stop at Larkin Square's Food Truck Tuesday and this was literally the first truck I saw. It had a few people lined up at the start of the fest but after seeing what was called "The Eiffel Tower" on the menu I knew I needed to order it. The Eiffel Tower is a cheeseburger with onion rings and chicken strips on top of it......you heard me right, ON TOP OF IT! On top of that monstrous sandwich my brain thought it would be an alright idea to also order an oreo milkshake....okay brain. The burger was absolutely incredible and might of been the best I've ever gotten off of a food truck (Disclaimer: I ate roughly 80% of the burger but could not fit anymore). The fries that came on the side were pretty basic but tasty. The oreo milkshake was delicious and honestly better then what I expected to get, it was the perfect level of "melt" to actually be consumed like a drink, just how it should be. Overall, Jimmy Z's is a top notch, grade A, amazing food truck. If you see this truck in Larkin Square or anywhere else, do yourself a favour and give this place a try!
