Finnegan's Road is one of those places you come to in South Beach Miami when you're worried the tourist trap nature of the whole place will swallow you whole. For those who care less to go clubbing or find the overpriced tacos and mojitos, consider Finnegans. Located near a famous brunch spot and away from the beach riff-raff, the atmosphere of Finnegan's will welcome you like a smoke-filled bar from the 1980s. It's open until 4 or 5:00 a.m. unlike a lot of the places in Miami because they were grandfathered in from old laws. It's one of the handful of places in Miami Beach that's open past 3:00 a.m. Lined with sticky wood tables and brass bars, you'll feel like home if you appreciate a rare whiskey, bourbon, or beer. They have Weller, Pappy, trappist beers, and so much more. What I appreciated was that they let me taste different beers, and pushed their local brews. While I don't normally like a sales approach, this worked because, well, their local brew was incredibly good. Their local tripel and quad beers are the ones to go for. The quad has a sweet honey for those who don't always enjoy beer, and the tripel is a bit more for the refined drinkers. Either way, they were amazing. Along with that, the staff was kind and even-keeled to promote the place and allow smokers to do their thing in the bar. Yes, they still allow smokers to smoke in the bar. It may seem like this place is full of badasses, but really it's just locals and hipsters. So if you don't mind that notion, then you may feel at home here. On top of that, a beer was a modest $7, and tip was automatically included. It was a simple transaction, and not at the prices offered at most places in the neighborhood. I would highly recommend those who don't care much for being a tourist in Miami Beach to check out this place and throw down some shenanigans. read more

Finnegan's is a pub on Lincoln Rd. with a nice corner location. Passing by, it has appeal as there is a lot of outdoor seating with TVs...so if you want to watch a game but sit outside, perfect location. We stopped in twice Thanksgiving week. Neither time was very busy...a few tables occupied outside, a few inside. The first time we were seated quickly and ordered drinks. Took awhile to get them, and when the waitress noticed we were finishing, asked if we wanted another round. We said no, and then she disappeared. Took over 15 minutes before she came back (and again, the place was nearly empty) and even then had to wave her down for the check. Decided to give it one more try. They advertised Philly Cheese Steak Eggrolls, which we thought we'd have as a snack. It was around the same time as the previous evening - 8pm - and it was pretty quiet. No one at the front greeting guests (which is odd on Lincoln Rd. where every other restaurant eagerly waves you down). Waited about 10 minutes, was going to leave before the hostess finally came out. She didn't acknowledge us (we were standing at the podium), so had to wave and ask if we could sit at a table. She nodded and we sat. We were watching the Lakers / Cavs game, and after about 20 minutes of not being acknowledged, we left. So really can't rate the food, but based on the service of two nights, won't ever try again. read more

Of course, sitting outside on Lincoln is great, but even indoors is good as the doors are always open to let in the light and the breeze! The happy hour specials are good and the staff is friendly enough. Great selection of flavored vodkas! Just don't eat here! Ugh! Finnegan's Road is Ratchet with a capital R. The place reeks of old cigarettes, and stale beer. But, this is a Miami Beach landmark. It is one of the only remaining places on Lincoln Road that hasn't been purchased by some foreign investor, and converted into a upscale, overpriced store. For that, I love Finnegan's. It's trashy, but in the best way possible. Cheap drinks, no pretension, just good times. You can show up in jeans and sneakers, and no one will say anything. It's actually what most people wear. The happy hour is also great. 2 for 1 drinks (but they have to be the same drink). The last time I visited, I spent hours at the bar, and only racked up at bill of $30. It doesn't get any better than that. In a city where everything is about looks, and money, Finnegan's is the complete antithesis, and that's what makes it great. read more

If you are looking for an Irish Pub with Guinness and fish n' chips then this place will do the trick. Indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of tv's to watch and a pool table. The loud Iron Maiden music seems to keep the Lincoln Road tourists away which is perfect for the locals. read more

I asked for a shot of Johnnie Walker Double Black Label whiskey, turns out the bartender ends up charging TWO shots of regular Johnnie Walker Black label (which is different from Double black label). I disputed with the bartender but it seems she can't understand what I was asking. I ended up paying $30 for two shots of a drink I didn't ask for. Stopped in while walking down Lincoln rd. Just wanted somewhere to grab a beer, turned out to be a good choice. Also go the jalapeno poppers they were very good. Service was quick and good. I didn't give 5 stars because I ordered the draft of the day which is $4. When we got the check they had charged $6.50 and we had to get it corrected. Great location to people watch, was there during happy hour. Beer was good, cocktail was very light with alcohol , wings were good and were 8.00 for eight wings and worth the happy hour. Service was also good. A suggestion - do not get a slider for 2.50. Sliders Are called sliders for the way they slide across the grill. These sliders are not grilled . Another definition of a slider is for the way they slide down. These were so dry they wouldn't go down without help and thank goodness we had the beer for that. read more

Went here on Xmas day with a friend because we just wanted to chill and walk around Lincoln road and this was the first bar we saw. It looks like your typical Irish bar. Came in around 2/3 so the place only had like 8 customers. Theres a couple of pool table and they both suc and the cue sticks also are broken etc. But what do you really expect from a bar. It'd good enough to entertain yourself and play a game on. Ordered a round of drinks, tried a margarita and it was pretty decent. They have several beers on tap. The bartender was nice I ordered a coke and rum but she heard me say coconut rum so she poured me coconut rum straight on the rocks. I told her it was a mistake but she gave it to me anyway. I could picture this bar at night I think it's fun. I definitely want to visit again and check it out on a weekend or maybe watch a sports game and hangout with some friends. read more

I went in here during the day waiting for some friends... I ordered a glass of wine and asked to see the menu. 1st of all, the menu has like 8 things on it. God forbid you ask for silverware, cause I did from the waitress and got this "are you kidding me?" look. When I asked the bartender I got the same look, then was handed some plastic utensils in plastic wrap! Thank god I was at the wrong bar. I went to the one on Ocean where they had a full menu, metal utensils and a bartender with a clue. There are SO many other places to go on Lincoln. I've had two experiences with this place, I should have known better than to give it that second chance. I waited to leave this review, knowing that the only words my fingers would tap out would be along the lines of "killkillkillkill" I like sports, and I like bars. I'm Irish by injection, too, so I thought this cool looking little bar on too-hip-for-you Lincoln Road would be great. I've never paid so much to wait so long for the misery of eating stale bread. They say hunger is the best spice. Anything tastes good when you're hungry. Not so. I *still* taste sawdust when I pass the place by. And St. Paddy's day was an experience in misery there. I didn't choose the place, and after an hour, we moved over to the Polar Bar next door. Not after complaining about the horrid service and the fact that the non-english speaking waitress actually refused to take a late-comer's order and didn't give back one of our friend's credit card back. Yeah, I have to agree with Michelle W on this one. Every place on Lincoln Road with prime people watching automatically gets an extra star - because it's totally worth it. There's nothing like sitting out on a Friday or Saturday night and watching the crazies walk by. Aside from the fact that it can sometimes take a while to get service, even when you're standing at the bar and the place isn't that full, and the food menu is limited and is basic 'bar food", I've always had fun when I've come here. When there is a soccer game, Monday Night Football or other sporting event on TV, they usually mount a plasma screen outside so you can sit at a table, chat, sip your beer, watch the game and people watch during the commercials. I took a buddy here earlier this year to watch an NFL game...He's from New York, so he thought it was cool to watch football outside at night without freezing, while people are jogging or going past the place on rollerblades (welcome to Lincoln Rd. Ha ha.) On the weekends they've usually got cover bands playing here at night and the place always gets crowded. read more

Umm... it's called Finnegan's Two and NOT 'Finnegan's Too' like it says in the listing. Personally, I would prefer if they used the roman numeral II, but that's just me. The place has some potential. It's a very casual spot and kind of an alternative to the typical Lincoln Road fanfare. It's pretty much a sports bar with a collegiate feel to it. They have a small raised stage for bands and they're not afraid to crank up the tunes as well as the juke box, which could be a good thing.... or not. Last time I was there the juke box was blaring B-52's 'Love Shack' at 3pm in the afternoon. The bartender went over to the tuner to adjust the volume and I was about to thank her, because I thought she was going to turn it down or maybe even hit the Skip button. This was our last stop last weekend on date night. I had such a great time! The hostesses and servers were all really nice and friendly. We ended the night with a couple cocktails each, some chicken wings, and we split a pulled pork sandwich while watching the Heat game. Its allot more casual then many of the places you'll find on Lincoln Road which was fine for us we had walked around allot that day so we weren't looking for anything that made us put forth too much effort... a casual sports bar-ish place fit just perfectly into our mindset at the moment. The wings were awesome. Different then normal wings I've had but they were just right. Crunchy and not 'set your face on fire' hot. Actually the pulled pork sandwich wasn't bad either.. It usually goes one of two ways when you order pulled pork in my opinion.. horrible or delicious and I am glad to say that it was delicious. I will likely be back here because I was welcomed so warmly by all of the staff. read more

This place scores major points with my boyfriend and I for having Strongbow cider available. Even better is that it was half price during happy hour - score! We each had 3 one evening while killing some time before going out to see our friends dj at 330 Lounge further down Lincoln Road. We were definitely a little bit tipsy and all for under $20... not bad! Our server was Angel and she was wonderful -- friendly and talkative, also very knowledgeable about the offerings/specials. Sunday night. We arrived with a big group of 10-13 girls. Took forever for us to get anyone to pay us any attention. We ended up having to rearrange the tables to seat all of us together. After shifting the tables around in our heels and skirts, one of us had to go find the waitress and ask her to come take our orders. There was maybe about 8 other people in the bar and 2 waitresses. I've never eaten at Finnegan's, but something tells me that the food is likely reminiscent of the kind served at most other sport's bars with a name alluding to the Emerald Isle. It's probably unfair of me to say that, to assume little difference between Finnegan's and some other run of the mill "pub," but that's just the impression I get. Inside, you get pool tables, a bar that stretches across the length of the establishment, a digital jukebox, and an attendant in the bathroom. I hate bathroom attendants. Absolutely hate them. And it's not that I'm opposed to someone making an honest living. It's more that I find it mildly offensive to pay someone to wash MY OWN HANDS. I can't be alone in feeling this way. Moreover, the bathroom attendant, in my opinion, just doesn't jive with a place that's meant to be somewhat divey. Am I wrong in thinking this? Wouldn't you think that a place featuring a guy in the bathroom with all sorts of breath fresheners and colognes would more fittingly toe the train tracks on the more affluent side of town? I mean, have you ever been at a pub or bar or whatever and said to yourself, "You know what'd make this better? A spritz of Cool Water." That just flies in the face of what a pub is supposed to be! I don't know. I obviously have very strong feelings concerning the matter. I just feel that a bathroom attendant at a pub/dive is akin to a bathroom attendant at a strip club. Really, who are you trying to fool? Everyone else or yourself? Wow. What a tangent. Where Finnegan's succeeds is in its outdoor seating, but really, that can be said about pretty much any and every other bar/restaurant on Lincoln Road. But Finnegan's also kind of fails in this regard in that the service outside is painfully slow. So in summation: lose the dude in the bathroom and focus your efforts on accommodating the folks outside a little more adeptly. Finnegan's has a fairly solid foundation upon which to build. The men's bathroom is filthy and nasty with urine all over the place, the bartenders are rude and ignore you when you want to order a drink, a young woman named sofia with jet black hair is the example of rudeness and uncaring service, another young woman with long blonde hair is just as bad, and older new blonde woman from serbia we heard say she is from is a tip harasser and rude as well, you practically have to beg them to get a drink, a regular at the bar suggested to pay cash to have them either wipe out your entire bill or "forget" some of your drinks in order to collect a higher tip from you, the bar is infested with big dogs that are neglected by their owners and want to bite you, the tables chairs are stiff and uncomfortable, with no arms rests look like old western saloon chairs, sometimes you sit outside in a table and have to wait for an hour to have some of these darlings come out and take your order but they never do, lots of tourists just walk out tired of waiting, if you go inside they ignore you and if you want to go back outside to return to your table someone else has taken your table, people smoke all over your face and don't apologize, if they have pos reviews are from the employees themselves, I wish the owner of this bar would bother read these comments read more

Awesome Jukebox! Right on Lincoln Mall Rd this place has the best jukebox. No filters on this bad boy so you can hear all your favorite songs uncensored. The sound was high too which I like. Watched the Pats win the 2011-2012 AFC Championship Game here and that was 5 stars. Sat outside on Lincoln Road, three tv sets side by side so great view at all times, crowd was good, etc. The food was really cheap as well (for Lincoln Road or South Beach in general). I got chicken fingers and fries and they were ok - nothing great or special but just fine for a cheap bite - I would have paid twenty bucks for a bite to eat with that special space to watch that game. The service was a little slow but they were busy - and friendly. They served these really tall coors light mini kegs at the tables too which seemed like a lot of fun. I would recommend this place to watch a game. If you drink enough I'm sure the food would turn into something fantastic too! I originally rated this place four stars because it's really not much beyond that (might be a stretch), but I gave them five stars because they did NOT automatically add a tip to my check - so I tipped them more than the standard 20% that other bars usually tack onto the checks. I was really pleased with my (slow) service - I understand it was busy and am very grateful to have had a great experience to watch my home team win the AFC Championship. read more

Of course we found the "Irish bar" on Lincoln Rd. Don't be fooled, the only thing Irish about this bar was the name. Perfect place to split some average tasting apps, beer buckets, and pregame for the night ahead. My favorite part of my Sunday Funday at this bar was the amount of TV's airing all available games, and the vast amount of different football fan bases represented. The service at the tables is pretty slow and sparse, I would recommend sitting at the bar if you get there early enough. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I would give it less than one star if possible. The service was terrible- the bartender seemed like she had way too much to drink the night before- getting a beer was a 20 minute process. But she was nice, so at that point in the experience, the place deserved about 3 stars. HOWEVER the manager-seeming guy (yes, you with the black spiky hair) is a lunatic. We were ready to leave, and after not receiving our food after an hour and a half, we asked this guy behind the bar to cancel our order. He replied (in a very hostile manner) that it was behind the bar and had been for quite some time, and that we should have magically known that we had to retrieve it from the bar (which is funny because we had been ordering beers this whole time, and no one mentioned our food was up. Add that to the fact that the bartender asked us where we were sitting when we ordered). When we asked for a refund, he kept telling us they were on the house. That's great, but we already paid for them, we don't want them, we want to leave, so we'd just like a refund please. With that he proceeded to come around the bar (I kid you not) and get in the face of my boyfriend while yelling profanity-laced statements like "Don't F with me! I'll F with you right back!" A real rip off! On December 28, in the evening, I ordered a beer and some chicken wings. The place was not very busy, and after 20 minutes, I asked the blonde bartender about the wings, and she apologized about the slow service. A few minutes later, I asked for my check because I had to feed my parking meter. I gave her a $20 bill for a $7.08 check, and she gave me 12 one dollar bills in change which I later counted out after I left the place.
