Typically the bartender staff is very nice - yesterday evening was a busy evening and we were sitting outside. as we went to leave the establishment I got up from the table and walked past the door to head up north Miami an employee HIT ME HARD with a door while I was passing by while carelessly moving around furniture. when I mentioned that to him and said hey you hit me, he said you shouldn't have stood in front of the door. What?! What??? I was leaving and walking by. The correct and polite thing to do is say I'm sorry or it's really busy I got overwhelmed. There was absolutely no reason to say anything otherwise. Put a super awful taste in my mouth and really there are people in this city who probably need jobs and could carry tables and be polite. It may sound minor, but the fact someone couldn't say sorry and then made up a story to excuse himself for his carelessness was uncalled for. Treat others with respect. "Manager"/bartender with glasses working Friday night was beyond rude and had zero customer service skills. She was clanking glasses and snapping "are you done?" while we were ordering, and got aggressive over something as small as grabbing an orange from the bar. Even though she was rude, the guy I was with still tipped her $20 because he thought she might just be having a bad day, unfortunately her attitude stayed the same. Considering bars in Miami, open late night, this bar has been a turning point and highlight for me! I visit at least twice a week both for Happy Hour and late into the night. Not only timeliness and quality, but the hospitality I have received by Sophia, Amanda, and Suzie (as well as the rest of the bar staff) has been more than I could ever ask for or expect in the Miami scene! The Corner is indeed on a corner and a great go-to spot in the area. I heard from a friend that this is a Miami staple and it lived up to the chill hype she amped it up to be. We came here with some friends after a Heat game, looking for some grub and a nightcap. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and it wasn't too busy at the time we arrived. If you come before a Heat game, I was told they have specials on certain drafts, which I think was cool. My friend said that this spot is a place where you end a night rather than begin and it held true as the place began to fill up the later we stayed. The vibe is cool & laid back with their playlist on pointttt with A Tribe Called Quest and Wu Tang Clan playing. You order at the bar and then grab a seat when they give you a number. I didn't get a cocktail this time around but all my friends loved theirs. The Painted Lady was a fan favorite! We also ordered some bites and it was all pretty good. Standard bar food but a little elevated is how I'd describe it. I got the grilled cheese and that was good but next visit, I definitely want to get the Chicago Dog because it looked amazing. Came here with a group of close friends. Initially everything was fun when Amanda was serving us. Amazing and sweet. Then another woman took over and was just awful. She kicked us out for reaching to grab sliced oranges. We ordered shots and asked for sliced oranges. They were served in a small plate. It was busy and I wanted to save them the time and grab it for my group. I apologized to her and tried to tell her what my intentions were. She still came up to us and called us out for being rude. I mean this woman was relentless. She said she was the manager. I'm from Vegas and manage 3 restaurants myself. Your customer service is probably the worst I've ever seen. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. For a late night bar, service was good. I got a "Hot & Smokey" which was lime, habanero, a sugar cube, and Illegal mezcal. My friend and I stumbled upon this Gastro pub after leaving E11EVEN. It's a relatively small space, with a very cozy, relaxed vibe to it. There's limited seating at the bar, but there are also a number of small tables and an additional high top seating area. I tried to be adventurous and ordered their cocktail dubbed "Trinity" (Wathens Bourbon, Peach Liquor, Lemon, Basil), but it proved to be VERY peachy and too sweet for my taste...so alas I ended up with my usual Maker's Old Fashioned. My friend ordered a Delerium Belgian Ale which was deliciously refreshing and everything wonderful you'd expect from a Belgian Ale. Had a work meeting downtown and heard about the corner from a few colleagues. It is literally on the corner on a one way so slow up when you make the left turn or you'll miss it as I did lol! There is street parking available for a fee. Happy hour is until 8pm. This includes drinks. There are small bites available for purchase as well that are not on the happy hour menu. The place is small but so intimate and cute. We enjoyed a manchego and crackers while we had a drink and it was so tasty. They pair it with honey and I feel like this sets it off. BEWARE: Date rape happens here because employees reinforce it. The Corner's staff - specifically security with short hair (not bald but short) and a female manager with glasses wouldnt identify their names and threatened to call the cops on me after kicking me out when i came for the first time in years after coming from an event i worked at as videographer and came with a date who was at a point at the end of the night past 5am where we are not 100% sober and under the influence. After ordering shots for my date, a group of 2-3 random men at the back of the bar and security became aggressive and telling me to leave when i came back for her. Decided to come back to The Corner for happy hour and it was worth the visit. I even came back later on in the week at night. Their happy hour prices are great. A special price on cocktails and beers. We ordered two spritz but they were out of the aperol so we went with craft two beers. They came out to $10! What a steal in downtown Miami. The bartender was really nice and friendly as well. It was happy hour so you had your choosing of tables or the bar. When we came back later in the week it was full inside and out but we ordered through the window and the bartender was also quite attentive and quick. We sat outside on a stool. The only disturbance that night was there was a pop-up Philly cheesesteak next to the bar outside and the two employees were slamming a metal spatula to cook and it was quite difficult to hold any thoughts or conversations with the loud banging. One of the best times to come to here is during happy hour. Select spirits are only $5 and craft beers are only $3 to $4. We decided to meet up here before the flamenco show at Arsht Center. I got a dry martini and rum and coke. They were actually good and not watered down. Again, they were only $5 so can't complain. While my hubby and I waited for the rest of the group, we ordered some apps. Skip the Chips w/ Homemade Cheese Dip but the Deviled Eggs were decent. The apps were just $5 each too. Next, we ordered a couple of sandwiches. We got the Roast Beef w/ Cheddar and Get My Goat (Goat Cheese, Basil, Roasted Pear and Tomatoes). The Roast Beef was just ok. It was too much bread, not enough meat and kinda bland. However, the Goat Cheese sandwich was mighty tasty. The sandwiches were less than $10 each and came with chips. Great neighborhood bar that is always jumping. I always bring my friends from out of town to this place; it is really a local spot. Right next to Eleven and All Day as well as a great pizza spot so the crowd is very diverse. The drinks are always good and prices are very fair. Try some of the small bites if you get hungry. All the bartenders know their stuff so if you request a specific cocktail they can do it for you, but if you're not so experimental their cocktail menu is also fabulous. Leave it to a Yelp event to take me out of my comfort zone. Got into a Yelp event, arrived early, and well, what was around? The Corner! Quite literally, too; The Corner was around the corner. Corny jokes aside, while we waited for the cavalry to arrive, my boyfriend suggested this place and my friend and I went, joining some more Yelper friends. This was my first time here and I was surprised to find this place in this neck of the woods. More so, I thought the place was cute and cozy, albeit a bit small. I really don't remember what everyone else ordered, but I had The Aristocrat and that cocktail was bomb. Oh wait, nevermind, my boyfriend had some Pisco drink and that was sweet but good. I'd never ever been to the corner before until a random visit back in March while celebrating a friend's birthday. We stumbled into the Corner around 1 or 2 AM and the place was busy, but not overwhelmingly full of people. That night we stayed there for several hours and had a great time meeting other patrons and engaging in general tomfoolery. I went back to the Corner recently and finally tried the Mixed Charcuterie & Cheese Board that one of my friends often raves about. I COULD NOT believe how good it was! I did not expect for a place like the Corner to have such great food! I typically do not eat bread but the little toasted pieces of bread that are served with the dish were so perfectly delicious that I couldn't help myself. In addition, we also ordered the deconstructed deviled eggs and the cornichons and olives. I really cannot say enough about the food at the Corner. It is so so so good. The bartender was also nice enough to modify one of their beverages for me and I could not have been happier. The apple pie is 5 stars! Sweet with a slight tartness, lightly crispy crust and served with a sliced strawberry both whipped cream and ice cream it is one of the best apple pies I have had. Simple as that! I'm even digging that they customized my grilled cheese sandwich that was customized with baked ham when I wasn't feeling their fancy bistro sammies. The combination of the ham and the two different cheeses (names escape me) had some sweet notes. The bathroom is good looking too, all bright white and looking reminiscent of the original 30s look. I'm also digging the rawp concrete space, and dim lights even the candle the bar tender brought so I could read my paper. Here's where I become the contrarian to the other glowing reviews. Maybe because I was coming from the southern suburbs and was rocking an uberpreppy vibe, but wasn't feeling the street person guy trying to get a buck from me while I tried to park in a tight spot. Music was the other sore spot, as when I went for my early dinner the music playing was a little on the downside for me (Crosby, Stills and Nash?) You guys know I also critique the background music! I wish I lived in downtown Miami so I could come to his place more often it is so economical the atmosphere is incredible all the people that come here are so chill and cool I almost felt like I was back in New York. We ordered a variety of appetizers and food and just split it up, shared everything. All I know is definitely have to come back here and eat everything without sharing. Prosciutto Mozzarella you have to have this it was incredible I ordered another one for myself as I was leaving. The drinks are completely amazing too I mean I don't really drink that much so I don't have that much experience on what to tell you to order but I love the spicy drinks and my favorite thing was the bartender decided to look up a cool recipe and make it for me. LOVED it here! What a great vibe this place has! Don't be confused; there is a cafe called "La Esquina" a block away. It is NOT The Corner although it is on a corner! haha! We came for a quick drink before a Yelp event in the area and were not disappointed. They have a HUGE selection of interesting beers and many of them are $3 during happy hour. The cocktails are also thoughtfully mixed. I didn't have one last night, but Elizabeth R did and loved hers. They have board and card games so you can keep yourself entertained, they have an interesting looking menu and the bartenders are nice and friendly!
