For 3 weeks they had refused to give my 2 month old his shots they kept making excuses wrong day wrong time or the fact that we were 13 mins late due to snowing but they refused and the receptionist with a snaggle tooth was disrespectful so instead of rescheduling with them I reached out to a pediatrics 1 mile away from them and they welcomed us immediately and got his shots the same day . First off I have no insurance, I paid $120 up front at the desk for my child's first time well visit at this office. We didn't have to fill out any paper work or wait more than a couple minutes to be seen. The nurse was super friendly and made us feel at ease. My child responded well to Micky (Michelle Hayes ARNP) and I very much appreciated seeing a practitioner who respects a parent's right to make medical decisions for their child without any judgement, lectures or fear mongering. Our visit was pleasant, straight forward, hassle free experience and I'll be bringing my newborn here for care after he's born. Grateful to have been referred to Fir Creek and happy to refer this office to other parents as well :) read more

I LOVE FIR CREEK PEDIATRICS!!! Having 4 small children, I have had my fair share of pediatrics. In this area, I was first sucked into the giant "PedNW" grouping. I tried the local big ped. office (lkwd peds). Didn't go back (you can read my review here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/lakewood-pediatrics-lakewood-2). But it was a blessing in disguise!... I ended up getting over to FIR CREEK PEDS! Miki is the most incredible ARNP ever. When I think of people who are living out their life calling - it's her. She leans more toward a natural solutions - but, trust me, knows when medical intervention is needed! I have had health issues with a couple of my kids and she stepped up more than ANY "doctor" ever did for me or my kids. Not only that, but, with multiple kids, often times, they share sicknesses. She will right then and there give the others the help they need esp. if they all need antibiotics (something other docs wouldn't do). She's even tempered and rolls with the screaming, thrashing kids as well as with the curious, into everything ones -- I SO appreciate this! The office is a smaller place. Cozy and inviting - not the cold sterile type. She has two service/therapy dogs in the office most days. For 3 of my kids, that's a HUGE deal -- they LOVE it! For 1, she is terrified. The staff know this and don't hesitate to put the dogs in the back -- and I'm so thankful they don't make a big deal out of it and try to persuade her to like them (trust me, I've tried). Making apts. is easy and they are good at squeezing you in if there's a need (like ear infections!). AND I've never had to wait too long there. :) LOVE THIS PLACE!!! read more

I've been going here since I believe I was 7 so 11 years, there was only one time I didn't fully like with Mickey said however it wasn't a big deal. I'm usually able to get an appointment within a few days of the call, sometimes even that day. 10/10 recommend, she always has the kids best interest in mind and the dogs help too read more

She listens to your concerns, tries to make sure you have all available and relevant information, and encourages being an active participant in your own, or your child's, healthcare. The office staff know me well, are always friendly and inviting, and try to be as accommodating as they are able to be with a busy practice that has a single provider. read more

I've never had a provider ask, "Do you have any additional questions?" only to have it mean, "Can I add anything to your bill today?" Be cautious going to Fir Creek Pediatrics. During our first visit (a school physical/well care check that's 100% covered by insurance), Michelle "Miki" Hayes asked my 7 year-old if he had any other questions. He told her that he sometimes felt he had water in his ears when he shook his head. She said his ears looked fine and asked if we wanted a referral to audiology. We then received a $100 bill for a "diagnosis" of hearing loss in both of his ears. My son does not have hearing loss. By adding this diagnosis code to my son's chart, she collects additional money. Unacceptable and unethical. I'm very disappointed by the integrity of this office. read more

I came to Fir Creek Pediatrics after my friend suggested an ARNP vs an MD. I had a terrible experience with several doctors at providence. My daughter has been diagnosed with severe ADHD and has been suffering in school for the past two years because I opted to not medicate and try other interventions first. Medication was my last resort. After working with several different MD's at providence I was denied medication after exhausting all interventions the school had put in place and the different doctors, they had all failed. She continued to go downhill in her academics because of her inability to focus. So I decided medication was worth a try, as her mom it was my last resort but the nothing else worked and I didn't want to watch her slip even more. I am an LPN in pediatrics, so this condition is nothing new to me. I found Fir Creek Peds on my insurance providers network page. I called and explained that I didn't want to waste anyone's time if they weren't willing to consider meds and help me once I showed them all the information from my daughters school and her past parent teacher conference reviews, grades, and comments from her teachers and counselor. They said Michelle is open and listens to needs. We got an appointment within a week which was amazing. Michelle listened to me, read everything I brought, asked detailed questions no one else had and sympathized with me. She prescribed medication for my daughter and I am so grateful that she did. She didn't just hear what I said, she really listened! My daughter has had a dramatic improvement with her focus in school and the medication didn't change who she was, which was my main concern. I am so thankful for Michelle and the staff for being so helpful and sympathetic to us. Highly recommend this pediatric clinic for all healthcare needs. read more

My kids have seen quite a few different pediatricians in the area and Mickie is the best! She was so gentle with my newborn son, and has always been patient and gentle with my toddler. The waiting room is never over crowded with I totally appreciate! My kids love the waiting area toys and books. They have always gotten my children in for same day appointments when necessary and are easy to get on the phone, no long holds at all! I definitely definitely recommend Fir Creek peds to everyone! read more

I have only been going to this office for a short time, but as long as I am in this area I won't be taking my kids to see anyone else. The staff are very warm and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, but still very professional and clean. They do not push heavily for immunizations, but encourage parents to make the best choices for their children and offer suggestions of reading material to help parents make informed decisions. I am grateful to have found this office and the wonderful support of a pediatrician to help me be the best parent and make the best decisions for my children! read more

As much as I like Mickey and her practice, I till fill it's important to get my review out there as well. I've been seeing Mickey since I was a child. Hands down it was always the best place I've ever went to. Once I had my children, I've been always bringing my children to Mickey as well and we were always happy with her service. Once she moved to Lakewood and hired more staff, the office started lacking the welcoming feeling it used to have. The receptionist upfront is not always welcome and nice. Whenever I call for an immediate appointment, she always offers me appointments one week away and we end up going to either ER or Urgent Care. The last visit was so disappointing, that I feel I should share this with other people. My son was recently very sick and was throwing up all night. I decided to bring him and show him to Mickey. We purposefully came to the office before its opening time so she would have more time for other patients as well. As soon as we entered the office, we were turned away by the receptionist who said that they are completely booked for the whole day and there is no way Mickey will see us today. Both of the staff (receptionist and the nurse) were seating upfront doing nothing and I highly doubt that they had someone in the back. She told me that our best bet would be urgent care across the street... I just wish Mickey was there at that moment, because I'm sure she would of never turned us away. After such treatment, I really don't feel that I would want to go back there. Whats the point of having a Primary Care Physician, when you can't see that doctor anyways? read more
