I've taken my kids to all locations except Gig Harbor, for the last 28 years. We started going there when my 2nd child was 6 months old (he turned 29 in August). I wouldn't recommend anywhere else! Not only are they amazing, respectful, practical (don't push what you really don't need), follow up on messages and phones calls well, but they will see your child through age 21, and then recommend a like-minded adult PCP. My youngest is 19, and it's going to be so sad when he's too old to go anymore. They're really good at getting you in with someone else if your particular pediatrician isn't available for some reason. They're all equally good. The extra locations and weekend hours make your life a lot easier when your children are younger and need more care. And if your kid has allergies or asthma, Dr. Jacobs is THE best specialist around. I've been to adult allergy/immunology specialists who could learn from Dr. Jacobs! My mom and grandma were nurses. We went to 3 different pediatric practices, back in the day, before we found this one. I know what to look for in a healthcare provider, having been raised by medical professionals. Our appointment was @10:30am for a regular 2 week checkup. Didn't leave until after 11:45am. We spent maybe a total of 10 minutes in the room with the dr and the rest of the time was spent waiting. Dr also didn't wash their hands when entering and neither did the nurse. read more

I bring my son twice a week due to allergy shots, as they are walk in based. Sure sometimes I wait, but it's completely fine. What else do you expect when you're waiting for a nurse to be available to be pulled aside from the craziness of the day to give a quick shot? Bring your kid's homework or something to keep busy. The nurses that administer the shots are fantastic. Kind, funny, and patient. Even give him the ice pack if it's only for the comfort of the visit. The front desk is nice, and I realize they must rotate, as I recognize most of them from the Baker Center where I take my kids for all other visits. Note that allergy shots have certain hours due to lunch breaks, so make sure to take note when you're looking to come in. read more

Everybody is really nice here. But there's a hygiene issue. The MA and doctor did not wash their hands entering the exam room. The purell dispenser was empty and this office is cluttered. We are in a pandemic, clue in !! Also, the MA gave my daughter injections in the back of her thigh. I questioned her and asked why she was going there. I'm a RN but have been out of peds for a long long time. I suggest having a RN or LPN give injections. Will most likely be changing to an office that can wash hands,have sanitizer and know how to give injections or just educate the parents on what they are doing This is update. Have not heard back from anybody. I recommend not going here. I can't take my baby back to a place where they can't wash their hands during a pandemic and give injections. Not my most favorite experience with a doctor. I went to see Dr. Jeffrey Jacobs to get my child tested for allergies. He seems to be lacking some social skills and not good at (or at least not willing to) explain things. After a long wait he basically handed me the allergy test results which consisted of several papers and left with me still feeling confused as to what exactly my child was allergic to since the results are shown in some code that I'm unfamiliar with. When I asked him about it, he just said that it's in the report with an annoyed tone of voice as he was trying to walk out the door. I've never been treated by a doctor like this before, so it left me a bit shocked and confused. Thankfully, the nurse was super helpful explaining it to me when I was desperate to understand the results. The nurses are five star. They're the only reason I'm not giving a one star. read more

My daughters appointment was for 0900 this morning. We are still waiting to be seen as of 0950. This is unconscionable.

As a new mom, I've seriously appreciated our experience at this office. Dr. Twito (previously Dr. Weber) is AMAZING! She's informative, extremely nice, & always makes me laugh. She's constantly offering encouraging words & I genuinely feel like she loves her job & cares about the well being of the children. The entire staff is great! Everyone is so pleasant & friendly. The only complaints I have are: (1) that one of the nurses is a little too rough for my liking & (2) that I've been in the lobby & heard the front desk staff gossiping about some of their coworkers. I completely understand you're not gonna get along with everyone you work with (I know I don't), but that should be saved for your personal time or, at the least, not be done it in front of your clients. My wife and I have three children that we have attempted to schedule appointments for. One being a newborn. She wasn't able to make it to the first appointment with our two oldest, and because of that we have been denied any further visits. It is "not good patient practice" If you are unable to follow-up with them. But it's perfectly okay for this office to cancel all future appointments without notifying the parents. Terribly hypocritical business practices. Judging from reviews already posted, we've seemed to have actually lucked out. read more

Terrible coordination and communication! I would not recommend. No return calls, no keeping of appointments and zero information.

I really like our provider (a lot!), I like the option of weekend office hours, a nurses line and except for one provider, I've liked all the other staff and providers. The things I don't like are the long wait times to see the provider (an hour and forty five minutes, once) and the hold time to make an appointment (usually five to ten minutes.) I was also told by a receptionist that the office closes early on the weekend if they don't have appointments/patients. So, don't call during their advertised hours expecting someone to be there. We haven't had a problem with this, yet, but I think it's strange to advertise open hours then leave early. read more

I took my son here as a newborn and it only took one visit to decide we wouldn't be returning. We waited over an hour past our appointment time, and the entire time the front desk people were gossiping about other coworkers. Even the clinical staff would come up and chit chat with the front desk staff, being loud and just talking negatively about others, it was very unprofessional. The nurse that took us back was very short with me and seemed like we were an inconvenience to her day. The doctor was the main reason I'd decided to go elsewhere. Dr. Clapper was extremely rough with my son. I'd already taken him to a couple other doctors for check ups and circ consults, and no other doctor was so rough with him. He dug out the left over gunk in his belly button, forced the the popsicle stick into his mouth, and the way he moved his arms and legs was faster and rougher than any doc I'd seen do in the past. My son was screaming the entire time which has never happened before this, and hasn't happened since. (Even with all of this, he still missed things his pediatrician now caught right away.) He said very quickly on his way out, "I'm going on vacation, so you're gonna have to find someone else to do the circumcision, unless you want to wait 2 weeks. My schedule is full after that too." He did offer quickly to check how far out he was scheduling, but I declined. I was already disgusted by the place, I knew we wouldn't be back. read more

Love Dr. Tart. It wasn't planned, but ironically all the kids in my family (mine, nieces and nephews) all see him. We have seen him for the last 10 years and absolutely love him. There was a time in the past we had to discuss some very personal, difficult topics related to my child. He was very caring and aware. Even offered to follow up with the problem at a later time (on his own time, who does that?). Side note, just as long as we have been going there, the gentleman at the receptionists desk has been there. He's great and personable. read more

My daughter has been going to Peds NW since she was born. We had a lovely doctor who had to leave, and no one likes changing doctors. My daughter has autism so I'm sensitive about having a knowledgeable doctor. In addition to understanding autism and figuring symptoms versus developmental issues, I like it when my doctors are patient and kind with my kiddo. My girl has some quirks like playing with people's hair or trying to look at their belly buttons :) She's 7 and I know it makes people uncomfortable and I have no problem with people gently redirecting her. She is malicious or being unkind, she just likes what she likes. Doctor Lichter http://www.pedsnw.net/providers.php?pid=69 is great with my girl. Yes, my girl did attempt to lift up the doc's shirt and check out the belly button, and Dr. Lichter took it in stride and held Isabel's hand and redirected her, but Dr. Lichter didn't freak out or flinch. She was patient and importantly, she spoke directly to my daughter. My daughter does not answer in an easy to understand and meaningful way often, but it is unkind to talk about her like she is not in the room because she understands quite a bit. Dr. Lichter spoke directly too my daughter (even when I answered) and explained the treatment and what was happening. Dr. Lichter attempted successfully to understand what my daughter was trying to convey (for instance my daughter does not like her ears checked), so my daughter grabbed the ear checker thing and held it near her head and made a face and Dr. Lichter responded "you're curious and a little scared to have your ears checked." my daughter smiled (which she rarely does in response to questions or statements). It did not get my girl out of an ear check, but I appreciated more than I can possibly express that Dr. Lichter acknowledged what Isabel communicated. Dr. Lichter also complimented my daughter and pointed out that things she was good, often when you have a kid on the spectrum professionals spend a lot of time focusing on the deficits (I get it, you fix what appears broken/different/stressful and you have to look at that stuff, but it really helps when they remember she is good at lots of stuff too and compliment her!) and it helps, more often than I like I have to correct people and remind them that my daughter is a person and deserves acknowledgement and to have things explained to her and to be included to the best that is available. My daughter also, when she likes people, will flap her arms and stand in front of them jumping up and down, this can be a little scary, but Dr. Lichter didn't flinch and hugged Isabel and engaged her. I am very pleased with my experience and I have been a fan of Peds NW for a long time for a variety of reasons, today was special because Isabel actually indicated she liked the doctor and tried to engage and Dr. Lichter made every effort to communicate back and be genuinely interested in what Isabel was doing. I'm impressed because this is a rare quality in doctors that are not specifically trained to work with children on the spectrum. Professionals are often rushed and it can take a bit to communicate with someone who isn't typical. Peds NW has always done a good job, Dr. Lichter stands out, but some of my experience is with Urgent care clinics and hospitals and I get it, everyone is busy and the next patient needs to be seen - so when someone takes special care and effort, I am ecstatic. This place really provides quality care for typically developing kiddos and those that are different. I am so glad I found this place so many years ago and I can't imagine getting such quality care and exceptional attention anywhere else. read more
