This is the best video game store in the region. The selection of games is great and prices are fair. They put plastic sleeves on all the game cases, which adds extra protection. Lot of hard work goes into making their customers happy. I've never had an issue with any of the games I've purchased. All have been very clean with little to no scratches. Ryan and team are by far the most humble and attentive people in the retro gaming business in the area. Trade in offers whether it's cash or in store credit are more than fair. You'll never be hounded while looking at the vast selection in the store but don't be afraid to ask questions if you have any, as they are more than willing to answer any question you may have. We recently discovered Fire & Ice Games totally on accident while looking for Spirit Halloween, and we are so glad that we did! It's a retro wonderland of nostalgic games of all kinds, and offers a space for card games and tournaments. We ended up buying an original NES with about 10 games, and we have no regrets! There have been issues with the system and some of the games of course, they're old and used, but everyone in the store has been amazing about helping us handle every issue that has come up. If I could put a zero star I would, I've been a pokemon fan for my entire life and recently got back in the cards. But it has become evident to me that this store sells fake/resealed products. It is the most heartbreaking thing to find out have been scammed out of your own money, especially when you intend to give it to your friends and little ones. As I was looking through their selection a seemingly friendly man came up to me and asked if I was looking for anything and also recommended to me that I purchase these packs of destined rivals, a newer set as of today. Little did I know that each and every one of those packs would be resealed, it became evident to me as I was opening the packs since I unfortunately have been scammed before with packs that were resealed just like the packs from here, I also got a second opinion from a local card store and they too have seen packs be resealed like the ones I got from here. The fact the employee had the audacity to recommend these to me and likely even knew they were fake and sold them to me for that reason disgusts me and is one of the reason this hobby is awful. Bottom line DO NOT shop at Fire & Ice Games and be weary of other vendors/stores in the future. read more

In a fit of nostalgia I started pulling out all my old MTG cards. I was curious as to what they were worth. I took them to Fire and Ice as it was close to where I live. All the staff including the owner were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I told them I didn't want to sell them due to sentimental reasons and they took an hour and a half of their time to help me anyways. Since then I have decided to get back into MTG with my 11 year old daughter. Dakota answered all my questions and was so patient with me as the game has changed a lot since the 90's. I purchased a starter deck for my daughter and I. Upon check out the store blessed me with some free swag for getting back into MTG. I have now come back again to buy more and all of the staff, owner included, have been so amazing and patient! This place is not even a year old, and I was blown away by their collection and displays. Of all the game stores I've ever been in, Fire and Ice actually cleans the games, ensures it works, SEALS THEM IN SPECIAL CLEAR SLEEVES, and just makes browsing and shopping so fun. They research and price the games to worth, they have toys and consols, you can even come in and play card games (cant remember what game I witnessed, but fun idea!), and the guys were informative and super friendly. Me and my friend went here and waiting for 15 minutes and received no help. We wanted to get booster packs for Magic and even asked an attendant to help us and they said they would once they finished, but went on to help someone else once they did. I would hate to say that it has anything to do with us being female, but every time we come here, it takes forever to get service. Today only seemed to cement that, as the attendants helped all the male customers there and never even acknowledged us and didn't help us when we did ask for help. Very disappointing as this is the closest shop to us. Even though it's a farther driver, I will be going to A-1 comics instead where I've always had great experiences. read more

It's decently organized, air-conditioned, and the staff are very helpful. Meanwhile they will price every game, controller, case, and every last particle of insignificant retro-themed dust as if it cures cancer. Ridiculous markups that have you wondering if it's all an elaborate joke that everyone except you is in on. As I said, their staff are amicable, but this excludes the owner, who is prickly, abrasive, and blunt. Very poor customer-service from someone charging prices only idiots would accept. I hope you're willing to pony up 800 bucks from a "graded" copy of a GameCube game. They are brick and mortar scalpers. Try eBay instead. read more

My boyfriend and I been to Fire and Ice Games a couple of times now and the only thing better than the selection of games is the service. I was amazed when I first walked in and saw every Nintendo game from my childhood, plus more that I never even knew existed. The staff are all very knowledgeable and helpful. We were helped by a staff member named Dakota last Friday and when I asked about getting batteries replaced in some old gameboy games, he not only said they could do it, he also walked me through the entire process that they use to ensure the games are not damaged and assured me that my 20+ year old games would be in safe hands when I brought them in the next day! The next day, they had large event going on and the store was packed but the staff were still able to take the time to replace the old game batteries. Ditto to the other reviews: -great customer service -fair prices, buying or selling (some deals too) -great selection of old games, some new games -clean store I sold some old Gameboy, GBA, and NES games to them and received transparent, fair prices for store credit. On 1 or 2 games, they offered a bit more than I expected as well. You'll be surprised how much some of the old games are going for, so check you're closets. You might spend a few dollars more than going through FB Marketplace or Mercari, but you'll know the game works (they stand by their products), you'll get great service, won't have to drive around town or wait for items to be shipped to you, and it's a 1-stop shop. read more

I heard good things about this store through word of mouth and came away impressed from my visit. I came in with specific, rare GameCube games in mind and this store had these games in stock. The games were complete in box (CIB) and some of the cleanest copies I have seen. The prices are fair (e.g Pricecharting, EBay). The advantage is the top notch customer service and supporting a local business. I was able to throughly inspect my games and test in store. Shoutout to Ryan and Lee for great customer service! In a market dominated by one big faceless corporation, stores like this are rare and vital breath of fresh air. The moment you walk in the door, you are swept away in a wave of nostalgia that doesn't even end until you are halfway home from your visit. The store is always spotless and well maintained, but they are not afraid to rearrange the whole layout if it makes more sense to accommodate their inventory. Everything is the star of the show and you can find hidden gems just by taking your time and looking through each of their (many) shelves. They keep everything from retro to modern games, and even have a respectable card game section that is growing by leaps and bounds every week. There is something for everyone here and more games are coming in non stop from trade ins and Ryan's constant wheeling and dealing. Ryan and Lee are the beating heart of the store. Their boundless enthusiasm and emphasis on fairness and fun are what sets Fire and Ice Games apart from most indie retro game stores. You aren't just going shopping, you're going to hang out in the clubhouse, and that is a feeling you rarely find these days.
