My partner and I recently got back into collecting Pokemon cards and he found this place on yelp, so we put in the address and were on our way.

Liam and Kate were so helpful and went above and beyond at my visit yesterday. They gave me a time frame of when I would be called via the intercom. The selection of books, CDs, DVDs, video games, and other exciting things were all presented with visual aesthetics. The rest of the staff assisted me with where the restroom was at and another person helped me out with where to go by directing me to the way to get there. Liam again helped me out with my books I placed on to the push carts. Kate was there to help me out at the cash register after I found a few books I have been looking for at other book stores and online. I would like to highly suggest any book readers or book worms, any other physical media, or nostalgic items to come to this store and support a great collection of not only books, but a very professional team and staff at this particular store location. A+++++

I understand stores gotta make money. Most items were close to retail. However, somethings I did like. Their graphic novels I felt were priced faire. Their dvds and blurays were priced fare. I would comeback again. While I had some minor issues on certain prices, I am glad to see more brick and mortar based stores still exist, Stop shopping on amazon and support real businesses'.

I remember as a kid I was an avid reader, but for some reason I thought comic books were really lame…read morebecause they weren't real books. They were just pictures with a few words and wasn't even close to what I was doing knocking out multiple books in a week. Sometime in my 30s though that all changed. As I got older,I came to appreciate the high quality of the medium,in regards to being able to have such complex stories work with such high quality artwork. So I started collecting comics and became a frequent customer to A-1 Comics in Roseville located on Sunrise Avenue. The top two things I love about this location are as follows. -Their employees really give excellent customer service. They are very helpful in assisting the customers in finding whatever they are looking for. A-1 has two other locations in the Sacramento area and multiple times I've been in Roseville and they were sold out of what I was looking for and they took it upon themselves to call their other locations to check if they had what I wanted-that's excellent customer service. -Second thing that truly stands out for me about A-1 is they aren't cheap on inventory-every week when new releases come out, they always have plenty of copies so that as many customers as possible have a good opportunity to get the issues they want-not all comic shops do this-others keep such limited inventory that they sell out too fast-A-1 rarely lets that happen. This Roseville location pretty much has its own parking lot,so there's always has plenty of parking available for its customers. In closing, I really do recommend this shop for all your comic needs-it's a pretty awesome place filled with pretty awesome employees and I always look forward to heading back out there.

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the good people at A-1 comics. The owner Brian is a…read moregreat guy who knows his stuff and gave me a fair offer for my comic collection which I sold off this past spring. Bailey was also great to work with as he was the person I sold the most to. You must know you will not get full market value for your comics or collectibles but what they do offer is fair and didn't feel like a low ball offer at all. I have no complaints or reservations about the overall transactions. My comic collecting days are over but if you're a collector this is the gold standard for Sacramento area comic shops. Between their Wednesday live sales and what seems to be every other month or so 50% back issue sales there are great opportunities to build your collection at fair prices. Their toy/collectible section has really expanded in the past few years particularly at the Auburn location. I'll still pop in from time to time to check out the collectibles. Have found some great stuff in the past! All 3 locations are worth a visit. Staff has always been friendly and everything seems to be well stocked and organized. Give em' a visit if you haven't yet. Lots of treasures to be discovered.

The second time we dealt with his wife (Corey was not there) and she was friendly which was just fine. Now the third time we went we were looking for some destined rivals packs and/or booster boxes. We had picked out one booster bundle for me and one for my boyfriend and then realized he was selling a whole box set which we asked if we could get just the box set instead (this is all before purchase). He must of either jumped to conclusion or didn't understand what we were asking. He loudly scolded us for buying too much (which is insane as a business owner) and started to humiliate us with demeaning comments. He was saying that he had people he needed to sell to and would not let us buy anything else. Mind you the store is almost a 4x4 shoe box so everyone could hear a pin drop. I'm not sure why you have product on the shelf and were showing it to us if you didn't want us buying anything. Safe to say I went from an excited newbie mtg and Pokemon fan to being very uncomfortable in most shops I go to now. I do not know if Corey owns this shop purely to hang out with the only regulars he deems worthy or because he likes public humiliation towards customers but there is no way with the amount of attitude and disrespect he holds towards all customers that this business will last long. Save your hard earned money and look at reviews before checking a shop out.
