I've been coming to this park since I was a wee one, I won't age myself though. I haven't been back in decades because I've had no reason to. Boy has this place been revamped. I have an 11 month old and it was pretty perfect for him. Artificial grass areas for him to play on with a small hill. Swings for little ones too. He had a ball. Lots of play structures, spinners, climbing, swings, most of the area is wood chipped. Nice coveted area to have a gathering - birthday, etc. The area is completely gated for safety. Parking on opposite sides of the street, don't park directly on park side. Don't block driveways. read more

My 3 y/o had a blast! We went after an early morning at the zoo he played On everything there was smaller fire truck area bigger play area AstroTurf swings climbing a pavilion and more. the play area is fully fenced in with lift knob doors lots of seating for parents bathrooms and everyone was very friendly and kind sharing toys and playing with the kids. My kid said he was ready to go that's how much fun he had he was wore out. Nice shaded areas and lots of street parking. Neighborhood is beautiful. read more

Have a kid that loves fire trucks? Parks? The outdoors? All of the above? Fire truck park is definitely the place to visit then. What else can I say that hasn't been said already.. the park has two main 'play areas', a standard playground play set and a replica fire truck that is super fun for toddlers. The fire truck even has a bell they can ring as they 'drive' it- great touch! Lots of fun play options- a little house and bench for the little kids, a merry go round, a large play structure to climb on with slides, swings, and of course the fire truck! My 2-year old daughter had a blast here until she tried to climb across a big-kid section and fell off. Luckily she wasn't hurt, just shook up. The ground is nice and soft to help prevent major injuries from spills off the play structure. When we left she was already asking when we would be back! read more

Cute park with lots of fun playscapes and park equipment for little ones. There is a pavilion full of picnic tables, great for lunch in the shade on a sunny day! One thing I really like about this park is that no dogs are permitted. read more

Driving around looking at real estate I'll never be able to afford is how I first encountered this adorable park. I kept seeing signs in peoples front yard proclaiming "We love fire truck park". What is fire truck park and where is it? We finally saw it and I thought oh what a cute park! The first drive by occasion I'm not sure why we didn't stop to check it out, I think it may have been cold out but I honestly cannot recall... Flash forward a year, I'd totally forgotten where I saw this park. I searched on yelp, not on there. I searched on the city of West University Parks, wasn't on there either. I looked on google maps for a fire truck park and there was no park with such a name. I began to wonder if I had dreamed this place up! Well, it turns out the park is in Southside Place (not West U) and is just as cute as I remember. I was borderline skeptical about going to the park because it was hot outside (95 degrees) and usually I'm not a fan of being outdoors in heat unless I'm next to some sort of body of water. Surprisingly, even in heat the park is enjoyable! There is lots of shade but no water fountain (at least I didn't see one) and the perimeter is completely fenced in. The park is very clean and well maintained with all kinds equipment for kids to play on. The highlight for the smaller kids is the fire truck of course. The neat thing about this section of the park is that it's astroturf and not grass. There is also a geometric shaped climbing wall, a large playground area and this really dangerous circle that kids stand on and spin around on. I say dangerous because there is no railing and kids just balance on it while it spins. In the hour we were at the park I saw several children get hurt on this thing and of course they all wanted to play on it (go figure). This is a great park to visit if you're in the area especially if you have a little toddler who loves fire trucks :) I wish Southside place was my neighborhood and this park was walking distance from my house because I'd totally visit it all the time. Alas, the last time I checked my bank account I don't have a couple mill to drop on house so until I do I'll only be visiting when I have some sort of reason to be in that area of town. read more

Such a fun West U gem. There is ample parking on side streets and beautiful homes to fantasize about as your little one runs around a FENCED park - yes, FENCED. I've only been here in the winter. I can't imagine what it's like in the summer. Maybe a bit crowded at peak hours. In addition to the playground items there is a nice pavilion which can house a pretty sizable birthday party or get together. read more

My children love this place! It's fully fenced in, in a great neighborhood and there's picnic tables! I can make dinner, pack it up, grab the kiddies and eat and play. Then head home, bath, read, pray, bed....no dirty house and everyone had a good time. There is a Johnny-On-The-Spot...sometimes it's clean, other times it's a "hold your breath and hover moment". read more

I brought my 3 year old and 13 month old to this park and loved it! Loved that all the equipment is tailored to toddlers and small children. Park is gated and didn't have to worry about my toddler running out into the street. Also, I didn't have to worry about the 13 month old falling anywhere and getting hurt cause there was fake grass and everything isn't far off the ground. Also, there is a restroom super plus for me! This park uses its space very cleverly. It has a lot of props other parks with playgrounds wouldn't have, and is full of cute little details. When your kids need a break from running and climbing, ask them to count all the pictures of fire trucks they can see (a lot!!!! Start with the picnic tables and benches!) or find the fire hydrants. Great playground with lots of different kinds of climbing structures, swings, slides and a covered picnic area. My 2 1/2 year old grandson loved every minute, even though a park sign says it's meant for ages 3-8. Very clean grounds with bark mulch and Astroturf to keep kids safe when they tumble. read more

LOVE this park. Giving one star to the mother who let both her kids take a poop and pee in the "secret forest tunnel" play area. This is a PLAY AREA, not a bathroom. Yes, there are no bathrooms in the park; however a short five minute drive to Whole Foods and you have proper restroom facilities there. I sat at the top of the double orange slide to supervise my 4 year old only to hear this woman yell to her kids "Make sure you pull your pants up before you come out" only then to realize she was encouraging them to take a dump in the bushes. Again, this is a place little kids play, not a place for your children to defecate. This woman was all around disgusting to begin with. We just moved to the area and we love the park but now I have to try to explain to my 4 year old why she cannot play in the secret forest tunnel. read more

Best place for kids. The safety gates were reassuring. All the slides and swings are fairly new and very Innovative too. There's a lot of benches on the side and also a small gazebo where you can have a small picnic. read more

I went to Fire Truck Park with a group of friends on a very nice Tuesday morning. There were very few people there but since it was a school day I am not surprised. Most of us gravitated straight to the swings, but soon after we all got on the swing we immediately noticed they were WAY to low to the ground for us. Yes, we are a group of teenagers but these swings were like a foot off the ground. Since it was such nice weather a group of us just sat down in the sun and talked during the rest of our time there, which was quite nice. Even though I enjoyed my self I would most likely not return. I recommend Fire Truck Park for young kids. read more

Great place for little kids. Set in a quite neighborhood there are swings and lots to climb on. Typically not crowded. Really a jewel. Not really designed for kids over age 8 or so. It is also gated and has a picnic table. read more
