I had ready prepaid the $400 he demanded thru PayPal when our dialog ended, with his pledge to refund (most) of that $400 prepayment. That was the last word from him, and that was three weeks ago! Let this be a warning to NOT prepay for a project that doesn't at most pay for some of the materials and perhaps travel. Don't get taken to the cleaners as I had. I may have dismissed a loss of $400, but at least it didn't become the $800 he was licking his lips over.

I called a plumber and was referred to Rx2 Restoration. They sent someone out to evaluate the situation the next day. No having gone through a problem like this before, I had no idea what was involved. They explained everything. Their 'mitigation' dept., or as I like to call them, the demolition team, got started right away. Once they removed the debris and damaged dry wall, they set up big industrial fans. Their 2 techs, Octavio and Jairo, did all that and then came back every day for 3 days until the 2x4's and surrounding area was completely dry. Man it was noisy but it worked! They had a de-humidifier going to pull the moisture out of the air that the fans were putting out. I was stunned to find out that over the course of 2 days the dehumidifier filled a 5 gallon bucket with water! Plus they had a huge air filter running when the fans were running, to trap all the dust and junk the fans were stirring up! I was very impressed! Then Rubin, the Restoration Mgr, came out with his tech for the reconstruction, Jesus. Jesus finished in one day. Installing drywall, texturing and painting the laundry room wall. They had taken pictures of everything as they went along and when Jesus was done in the laundry room, he even put all my laundry supplies back on the shelf exactly where I had them! Excellent work, extremely well organized company, all the techs were very professional and cleaned up after their work was done and were very respectful of my home. Couldn't ask for a better job!

This concealed issue would not have been visible had the towel bar not fallen. As of 8/28/2025, the cardboard was removed by the owner, Roy who proceeded to explain "it was a quick fix," and the bar was affixed to satisfaction, however the method used to install it to begin with is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about the integrity of other completed work in my home. While I appreciate this being cared for, I was also asked to remove my review from BBB however, in good conscience, I wanted to document and share my experience in hopes of saving someone else from the same outcome.

Was installed in August 2023. Unfortunately, the packing materials and glue were stuck to the door paint. They didn't see it on install day. Called them and they came up to fix the door and paint promptly. Unfortunately, there is still glue stuck on the door. Had the owner come up yesterday, November 13, 2023, and look at the paint that is scratching off when the door rolls up. I was told this is normal for any door that rolls up on itself. Dust and dirt cause it. He told me that they installed what we ordered. Yes, the conversation went ugly from that point on my part. This damage will not be covered under the paint warranty. Knowing we were now stuck with the damage and future damage, we should have been told this could happen. I thought we had done our research prior to spending $4k for a door. I was wrong. No customer would have known about this. Only the garage door company knew. Warning to all future buyers. Ask more questions before you purchase your garage door. Had we known this prior, we would have not had it painted.

The workers were okay but the owners seemed to know very little about the business other than knowing how to make sure your water claim was processed through your insurance agency. Also, they chipped/cracked a few tiles during the remediation portion. There were other horrors to this company but no need to share them here... So once that company was done with remediation I didn't feel comfortable with them having to do my rebuild. The day I was sure I was going to fire the other company, I was driving to work behind a truck that said De Rosa and Sons Drywall. This was exactly what I needed! I looked at their reviews and decided to get an estimate. The father came for the estimate and didn't ask many invasive questions like some other contractors have done to me in the past- he came and did his job. I got two other quotes as well. De La Rosa's was about $400 more than one drywall only competitor but that one other competitor did not have the most amazing drywall repair photos to show. Like I could look at the photos and could still detect the patchwork or where the drywall repair ended and began. Despite De La Rosa being $400 more, it was still within being reasonable. I went with De La Rosa and I'm so glad I did! They accommodated my schedule and showed up on time! They did an amazing job as well within a short period of time. They were respectful of my space and during their break time they were willing to engage in pleasant conversation. I can't even tell I had drywall repair done... the last thing I wanted to worry about is a bad drywall job bringing focus on a repair and being unsightly. They matched the texture exactly and the wall is super smooth. I am still in the process of painting no but once I get the walls painted I will add that picture. These guys are intelligent and definitely possess talent in the drywall arena. Was well worth the $400 extra. They also redeemed my faith in contractors.
