I am both amazed and soothed by the faint sounds of the water splashing and minimal chatters as people are walking by or staring at the views themselves. Any time of day is great, but especially at night. And yes, it's well-lit. There are also options to dine at a restaurant or grab a quick treat like ice cream. I prefer to go whenever it is warm outside - so spring or summer is perfect. The only drawback is the inconvenience of parking spaces! Tough to find, all of the time. Keep that in mind. That's why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5.

It's a popular spot for both locals and visitors who want to enjoy a day outdoors with a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline. On nice weekends during the warm weather months, it is by far the busiest area in the park. This pristine, sprawling 1000s of acres has boat launching spots with well-maintained restrooms. River breezes are spiced by dozens of barbecues and the happy uproar of families at play; it often fills to capacity by noon. A paved path along the river makes it easy to wander, jog, or push a stroller. More ambitious visitors can link up with longer trails toward the Palisades or up toward the bridge itself. It feels like one's far away from everything even though the city is right there where my partner, his family, and I stopped by, hoping to see the GWB fully lit, two towers with 600-watt LED bulbs, on the eve of America's 250th birthday. We were anticipating to stay a bit longer, but an impending thunderstorm was approaching.

I've lived in this area all of my life and I never get tired of it. Plenty of photo opportunities here. There's grassy areas to host picnics in or play sports. If you want to walk, there's a walkway right along the Hudson River and there's a hiking trail adjacent to it. The trails are all connected to the Palisades Interstate Park. Parking isn't difficult to find here, but it is metered ($1.50 per hour). They also have public restrooms and a seasonal concession stand. There are a lot of geese though so.... watch where you're walking because their droppings are everywhere. Whether you want to hike, relax, take photos, or just enjoy the beautiful scenery, you can't go wrong with coming here. ... and yes, it's doggo friendly! :)

The trails are free to enter but they do request for volunteer donation for non members. Different tiers of annul membership available to purchase at main office that comes with some wonderful perks, such as free access to trails and special events. The main office also has some of the exhibition items like insect box and turtle box. Outside the office there's also bird and butterfly cages. We went to the center for our daughter to participate in butterfly feeding event. Upon arrival we found out we had to buy the tickets for one of the two scheduled events. Luckily there were slots available to the second event on the day. The ticket was reasonably cheap, only $8. It also came with an additional bird's exhibition that took place right in front of office deck. All the stuff members were very friendly, informative and interactive. We spent wonderful couple of hours here on beautiful warm summer day.

Lovely park right off main street…read more There is no parking lot but lots of metered street parking in the immediate area. The park has a large field with a baseball diamond there. There is a paved path around the perimeter of the park. There is an exercise area as well as a sizeable playground, focused on children 5-12 years old. Along the main path, there are also some less intensive exercise stations...they even have wheelchair accessible options. The park is very well-maintained and safe.

Probably one of the biggest local, neighborhood county parks in NJ. + Multiple sections to the park include large kids' playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, handball courts, baseball fields, a soccer field, track and field athletic field, dog park and a BIGGGG lake in the middle. + The kids' playground is one of the biggest I've seen in Northern N.J. rivaling that of Van Saun's playground in Paramus. There are lots of activities for kids in there. + There's a road that goes through the heart of the park, so, YES you can drive through the park. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - Parking inside of the park can be a challenge on really nice days, but there are also spaces outside of the park by the surrounding houses too.
