Their tech came to my house to see why my gas logs weren't igniting. He lit the pilot but he said the gas valve that ignites the rest was stuck closed. He said they couldn't get that part but if I got it let him know and he would fix it. He left, shortly after I got a headache and went upstairs to lay down. When I woke up I could smell propane. I went downstairs and it was extremely hot, I ran into the fireplace room and it was on full blast. I opened the door with the wooden handle but had to use my shoe to open the inside doors and remembered there was a manual off switch. I called the company very upset and asked the guy who answered how to turn the propane off, he told me what to do. I said you would think that since it wouldn't work he would have turned off the propane, the man said yea you think. My husband called because we paid $130 for this guy to almost burn our house down. A lady he spoke to fed him some junk about most homeowners want the gas left on, COME ON IF IT DIDN'T WORK WHY LEAVE IT ON! read more

Waited 2 months for an appointment and finally the day of my appointment arrives and the "technician" called and left messages. So there was probably "a problem with my phone" piss poor customer service. read more

Decided to replace a wood burning insert with a natural gas insert, and wanted to stay with Heat & Glo do to previous good experience with the brand. Showroom and in-home consultation both great. Took about two months to get the unit installed, but everything is taking longer these days. The two technicians that did the installation did a good job installing the insert. We are very pleased! read more

People need to start calling the, better business bureau on this company. I bought a chimney lining and was told I just had to pay for the fan motor and have the stove for free, It was going to be less then $200. After went there and asked, why it was $250, and not the price they quoted before, I looked the same part online for 118 and showed her and she said well why didn't you buy it yourself. Then, also they would put the motor on and never did then told my husband they would do it friday. They called him to let him know it won't be till the next week. This place Is a joke and they lie and take your money and run. read more

Bought an expensive heat stove from these people. What a disaster. Do not use these people. This was a vented stove; however they gave us the wrong vent pipe. When we first complained that the stove would not stay lit, they advised that we needed a remote. which we purchased from them for $250. Of course that was not the problem. And, since we were having some cold weather and this stove is our main heat source, I was not a happy camper. My husband hooked up an old wall mount stove for heat, which worked but was not pretty. When the stove still would not stay lit, Steve Reynolds told us we needed a bigger hole in the wall for the exhaust pipe. Now everyone knows the stove vents through the pipe - not a hole in the wall - that is everyone but Steve Reynolds. After many heated discussions, Steve agreed to come to our house to take a look. Of course, he brought no tools and my husband made many trips to his shop to provide tools to Steve. After my husband had moved the stove away from the wall because Steve was unable to lift (would he not have known this before arriving at our house and my husband is 80 yrs old), Steve concluded that we had the wrong exhaust vent that attaches to the outside of the house, which he agreed to cover under the warranty. He still did not realize that the exhaust through the wall was the problem - it was too small. For all this nonsense he had an asking price of $450 to come look at a stove that had not worked for almost one year. He reluctantly agreed to split that price. Thank goodness, the factory was smarter than Steve and sent the correct exhaust system and the stove now works great, through no credit to Steve Reynolds. Again, do not go there. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever seen!!! I had scheduled a chimney cleaning today. One that had be scheduled with them two months in advance and I called them two days before to confirm explaining to them that I was taken off work midday to meet them at the house. I asked them to call me in the morning if they were not coming. They did not call so I assumed they were still coming. They were a no show and when I called them they said it would be over a month before they could fit me back into the schedule because it had rained on my scheduled day. They were in essence putting me at the end of their schedule and would be servicing the customers who were next on their schedule first. It had only lightly rained this morning and when I started calling other places they all indicated that they were cleaning chimneys today. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE WHO DON'T KNOW A THING ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY PROBLEM DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO SPELL CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Terrible experience. One run around after another with each came and significant price increase. Very poor service and even worse communication. One would think for a fireplace install that cost $8000+ the owners would try to make things right but that is not the case with this group. I'm even out the cost of a mantle I special ordered now. Today was the breaking point when after I had paid 1/2 down 2 weeks ago and we agreed on price and installation today I stopped in after trying to phone them for a week without a return phone call. I was told today after I had already PAID 1/2 DOWN and after we had ALREADY AGREED ON A PRICE that it would COST AN ADDITIONAL $1500.00.. What a joke they just bait you in make hollow promises. During the quote they tell you your getting one thing then when you go in to pay 1/2 down they switch it saying only the cheapest option was what was quoted not the other which was mentioned during the in house quote.
