It's everything that you'd expect from a bookstore - wood accents, endless shelves of books, zines, magazines, bookish souvenirs, and cute bookmarks. This bookstore often makes it to "must visit" CLE bookstores. Selection: Mac's has a wide range of literature from the timeless classics (think Jane Austen) to modern lit (think Emily Henry). There are three levels of books with genres ranging from romance to history. Each category is well organized and labeled. It's definitely the store to find eclectic reads on specialized topics. You'll also find new and used books, greeting cards, pretty journals, bookmarks, bookish totes, and other accessories at this store. You can order everything that you can't find at checkout. I historically purchased nature-inspired reads, and today Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" for my book club. It was a gorgeous and compact version for $15. Who doesn't love a compact book that you can take everywhere? Service: Service is consistently very friendly. They always ask you if you found all your reads in a genuine manner. I really enjoy my interactions with everyone at Mac's - employees and readers. Events: This book store hosts very interesting book events for the community. Open air poetry readings, silent readings at nearby Phoenix Coffee, haikus and meditations, book clubs, and other gatherings are hosted here. Check out flyers at their store or their Facebook page. I previously visited their event with typewriter printed poems for Valentine's Day and had a ton of fun! Parking: City parking garage is available across the street (free parking). There is limited street parking. Availability of the latter really depends on the time of the day. I highly recommend visiting Mac's if you're in the mood to browse. We're a family of book lovers, so the two of us thoroughly enjoyed exploring its shelves and talking with the owner. As others have noted, she's knowledgeable about the books she has, she's friendly, and she prices her books very reasonably. I was looking for books on WWI for my husband, and she quickly found a newer one I knew he did not yet have. Then she went to her basement and found a vintage book that I thought I recognized from his collection. She suggested that I photograph it, then call her if I wanted her to hold it until we visit again in a couple weeks. I'm definitely taking my husband to this store when we go see our niece in a theater production. And what a wonderful community advocate the owner is! She said she'd be closed on Sunday, but that my niece could leave a poster for Hiram's theater production in the store's mailbox and she would hang it in the door. And here, I haven't even mentioned the wonderful variety of books which are so well organized!

It's a magical store that I wish I had to play at growing up. I can only describe it as an immersion into the pages of a fairytale, it's that cute of an aesthetic. You'll see when you visit! Store: The store has two whimsical levels. The first level often has handmade decorations or twinkly lights. The second level has a gorgeous city mural. There is plenty of natural light. There is sufficient room for the kids to play on the second level and also shop. You can also linger outdoors at dainty tables. Merchandise: The store sells toys for boys and girls of various ages. From dinosaur games to doll houses, you'll find so many things here. Toys are very high quality and very unique. A lot of toys are European made. There is predominance of wood toys and educational games. You won't find the basic boring and overplayed toys. You simply won't find toys like these anywhere else in the city. I don't have kids but stop by to shop for Christmas kid drive donations. It's always so pleasant to shop here and tap into my inner child. For moms and non-moms, there are monthly women's circles hosted by the Little Scraps of Magic. The circles include tea, conversation, sound bath, and a space for womanhood. I mostly visit the store for these circles and they are soul medicine. They allow you to check out the store, tap into your inner child, and connect with local women. Parking: Parking is available onsite, it's free. Overflow parking is right next door. I can't recommend this store enough. It's just so beautiful, well designed, and filled with treasure. Unfortunately, I went on Joe, the owner's off day, so I didn't get a chance to say hi to him, but his staff is always warm and friendly. I dig the amount of Star Wars memorabilia he has, along with all the other toys, collectible card games, tabletop games, and of course, the pinball machines. He also has new Comics weekly along with some back issues, stickers, supplies, and some really great statues. They run Magic the Gathering nights and other gaming functions please jump on their Facebook page to see their schedule. If you're looking for collectible card games singles, they also have probably one of the largest supplies in Northeast Ohio. Check out the 55 pictures I shot. Anytime I shoot 55 pictures tells me that there's so much goodness in there that I can't make up my mind which pictures to shoot. We appreciate the support that they've given us over years. The machines also played really well and had a good mix from solid states through the latest Stern release, The Uncanny X-Men. Had a great time on the machines which range from $0.50 to $1 a play and even put up some initials. Definitely a fun spot to flip at and they also have video games. The owner mentioned to me that they are getting their liquor license soon so you'll be able to have a beer while you flip in the future!

It was the perfect excuse to visit! AMBIANCE/INVENTORY: One space with bookcases lining the walls. Great lighting and neutral white shelves. You will find so many fun books here - romance (think Emily Henry and beyond), fantasy (think ACOTAR), smut, seasonal reads (like Christmas and fall), YA, and more. I stay pretty addicted to Booktok but I've seen plenty of new-to-me titles here. If you need a book in romantasy genre, it's safe to say you'll find it here. If not, you can also call the store to pre-order. If you're unsure about what to read next, they got you. There is a gumball machine where for 25 cents you can pick a suggested read (and potentially win a prize). Also, dates with a book are $25. I was pretty close to using gumball machine. I think it's such a fun idea! Beyond the books, there are so many cute souvenirs - totes, sweater covers for books, wax melts, cards, and more. I was at the book shop with a friend who is not a fantasy gal. She found so many accessories! So bring along your non-fantasy friends! Also, I'm working on converting her to a fantasy reader! They have a great selection of mainstream romance novels to more niche fantasy novels. It is a rare feat to find a non B&N type bookstore that has items both my fantasy loving boyfriend and my romance loving hearts are happy with, but this is the place. If you find yourself in there with no other customers, you will get the owner's undivided attention to give recommendations and like most indie stores your fellow patrons will as well.
