I had been referred to Dr. Shepherd by a dear friend with high regards for her in 2011. From the start, she has a gentle touch and explains what she is doing inside your mouth. She is very conscious about pain levels and making sure you are comfortable. No "suggestive sales/upsells", which I truly value in a dentist. Her work in my mouth has been accurate. Firestone Dental carries our families' Delta Dental PPO plan, which is nice. Recently, I encountered a few mishaps between the delivery and installation of a crown. I then had the gumption to go online and read the Firestone Dental reviews, including others having problems at this facility. One thing I'll say is, sometimes the dentist is busy doing their job and not in-tune with other activity going on around them. I contacted Dr. Shepherd directly to discuss my matter with the situation I was in. Dr. Shepherd is a dentist with integrity. In fact, her integrity goes beyond any dentist I have ever heard of in my lifetime. She made sure my situation was remedied, I am pleased, and will continue going to her. Getting my husband on board there as well. The current office manager (April 2014) is professional, with the companies reputation in mind. I'd say if you had a problem, like the other Yelps I was reading, go up the ladder. We are the patients, we have to live with the results of dental work (and the bills associated). I looked at the reviews of Firestone Dental Care and am incredibly surprised at some of the low ratings. They deserve way higher then some of these other reviews. In my experience going to the dentist in the past has been awful!!! I have received a crown and fillings in the past from other dentists and had horrible pain and sensitivity that lasted for weeks if not months. I came to Firestone Dental Care to receive 6 fillings and a root canal a couple weeks ago and seriously NO PAIN AND NO SENSITIVITY. They have been amazing with information regarding my teeth and accurate based on my past. Those who complain about the laser part SO WORTH IT and it's not "upselling". I know with my past I didnt take care of my teeth as best as I should. Teeth are very important to your well being and overall health and you should take care of them NO MATTER WHAT even if it's an expensive cost. If you dont, your cost is going to be MUCH HIGHER later on in life. Firestone Dental Care is very reasonable with their pricing and it helps if you have dental insurance!! I'm not great with reviews, I rarely write them and I don't know what to say most of the time. But stay with me here, read to the end. Or skip this first part, that's okay too. I've been to other offices and they always do the same thing. Most places I've gone to lecture me the entire time I'm there (I get it, you are trying to help) and they ended up making the me give up on going to the dentist. I went there to get my issues fixed and to get on the right path to fixing them, not get a lecture on how lazy I am. But this office did none of that. These gals were so good at making sure that I know that it's okay and that my teeth can be taken care of. No one made me feel bad and no one tried to go for that 45 minute lecture that no one wants to hear. Everyone here just wanted to help. They took care of my teeth, and they did their best to be gentle. I honestly drove an hour and a half to get to this office, and I would do it again. Not one office has treated me properly, but this one did and I'll recommend them for a long damn time. read more

I called Firestone Dental Care to come in on an emergency basis. I had a broken tooth and was in so much pain, it hurt to even breathe. I called Monday morning and left a message. I recieved a prompt call back by Ciera, who listened to my concerns and put me at ease. To my surprise they were able to get me in before lunch time. Dr. G was sure to explain to me what I needed and walked me through the procedure as he was performing it. I have never had such a wonderful and pleasant experience at any dentist. Having crippling dental anxiety and walking in to any dental office is unnerving, but the staff and doctor at Firestone Dental were able to turn my whole perspectice around. I have been going to Firestone Dental for at least two years now and the experience has been excellent. From the Doctor, to the hygienist, assistants and front desk, the staff has been professional. I usually go in for cleaning and I'm glad that x-ray is part of the routine because this last time it turned out I had new decay developing. That's why you need regular checkups people!! Dr. Esmaili was gentle and professional as always and showed me the decays on x-ray and explained what was needed. She did the fillings for me, again another great experience considering I'm not fond of needles. The work was efficient and I left feeling satisfied with the work. No issues afterwards. Cudos to Firestone Dental. As a new patient last fall I received excellent care. The hygienist was very personable,thorough, and knowledgeable. She also took the time to suggest ways in which I could improve my dental hygiene and I feel that that has really made a difference. Dr. Martin is terrific. He explained his recommendations to me with no pressure whatsoever. I felt that I was part of the decision making process and that he is genuinely concerned about giving quality care. I came here specifically for my hygienist, Jonie, who is AWESOME!. The only problem I had was being charged more than I needed to be because my insurance covered more than anticipated. In the distant past this would not happen because insurance companies would require pre authorizations and you would know exactly how much you were responsible for. They were more than willing to write a check and get it right back to me. Dr. Martin has been very professional and given me his recommendations and also alternatives so I can make an informed decision on what route to go. read more

Dr. Martin Rocks!!! Until now, going to the dentist has always been a "white knuckle" experience for me. Dr. Martin was EXTREMELY "patient" with this patient, especially given that he had to chase me around the chair to inject the novacaine (traumatized in childhood by a dentist). I will continue with Dr. Martin as my Dentist in the future. Why? Because he has a unique blend of knowledge, skill and personality, coupled with a great chair side manner. My family and I have all been going to firestone dental care for about 10 years. When the kids both needed braces, we had the pleasure of having Dr. Shephard take care of them during this period. I can't recommend Joni and Tonya enough as hygienists. They are both thorough, professional, and very honest when it comes to any procedure. They won't try and upsell you anything unnecessary, but they will recommend what you absolutely need. We will continue coming back to this office for years to come and recommend them. read more

I have been going to Firestone Dental for a few years and have seen Dr. Sheperd since I started going there. I really like her becasue she is gentle, kind and I like the fact she is a women. When I found out she stopped doing regular dentistry and switched to only braces I was bummed, and hesitant to come back. Though in my last cleaning I found out that she is back and I am very pleased. I would reccomend Dr. Sheperd to anyone. read more

I came in on Tuesday in excruciating pain, and they did what they could to find a way to get me in. I met with the doctor, who made me feel very comfortable while he prepared to extract two of my teeth. He did an excellent job, and the entire staff their was wonderful, and made sure that whatever I needed or any help I needed was taken care of. Scheduling my next appointment here asap. read more
