The TransBay bus and its hub (Salesforce Transit Center) is the best way for me to get around San Francisco, although I really love driving in the city... just not with the current state of traffic and overcrowding. I like the Caltrain but I like this bus line a little better. It's been a long long time since I first came to the San Francisco Greyhound bus station and the memory haunts me still. There was a huge Skyway across the road with the Greyhound sign on it, which always told me I was here. Definitely the memories are haunting and distant, and for a long time after coming many times in my early years, I was always hoping that it would still look like it did in my mind. These days it is the Transbay Transit Center, which has now been renamed the Salesforce Transit Center. It's a massive and amazing and modern building and has taken over from the Greyhound building that I came to and used so many times. It's a good memory for me and I guess that's all that it will ever be. It's been a long long time now since I saw that original building on the street corner, and the new Transit Center is magnificent and currently mainly serves the Greyhound station. Transbay looks modern and space-age and curvaceous and white. And it's definitely quite different to anything you would imagine. There's even an aerial tram and a roof top park. I mean you can't expect much more than that. It's massive and very long, taking up several city blocks, and a wave of the future. There is criticism for the naming rights, but most people actually really love it. They also have a Package Express service here. Barbie likes me to use my package to express myself, so here goes. Before we even met him, he gave great tips on how to get there and even suggested stopping at a delicious bakery, which was such a nice touch. When we met Bryan, he was incredibly friendly, upbeat, and genuinely happy to be there. Throughout the tour, he showed video clips that made everything come alive--even for our kids (ages 11 and younger) who hadn't seen some of the movies. They were totally engaged and loved it! They especially enjoyed the behind-the-scenes tidbits Bryan shared, like how green screens work and how certain scenes were created. He made several stops where we could get out, explore, and take pictures, and he really took the time to connect with everyone on the tour. It felt personalized--he went above and beyond to tailor the experience to people's interests. He even helped take photos, which we really appreciated. I was also extremely impressed with his driving--he managed to safely navigate while playing video clips and sharing information the whole time without ever making us feel unsafe. That's no small feat! We truly couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this tour--and especially Bryan!

I had a shockingly good experience, and I wanted to report on it -- this should give folks hope if…read morethey lost an item at SFO airport. I forgot my water bottle. I made a rookie mistake of failing to empty it, and it had to be run through the scanner again. I was with my wife and our dog, and we were in a hurry; I just left it behind. I realized a day later. The water bottle is titanium. That means it is expensive. Well, I emailed Covenant. I looked on the website for SFO. This company handles lost and found, in particular if you do what I did, leave something behind at the security check. They replied the next business day. I made an appointment for two weeks later (since we had departed for vacation, and then I couldn't get down there during their hours, which are a bit more limited than the regular business day), and they warned it could be thirty minutes. When I visited, it took all of two minutes. I showed them my ID. I signed a form. That was it. Since it was my own stupidity that caused the problem, I am most grateful. SFO is a great airport in general.

The buses are like nice tour buses, there is free wi-fi, theres a light above your seat, the seat reclines, the drivers are always nice and friendly. The price is cheaper than bart, and u dont have to deal with the smelly bum guys, ladies with fish in plastic bags, and obnoxious teenagers screaming and texting in your face.

Here are my top reasons for riding the transbay whenver possible: 1. plenty of room- not only do I get my own seat, but I can stretch my toes and take the seat next to me usually since the bus is never full 2. Clean- I don't see the beautiful "art" that often plagues MUNI or the trash that fills BART 3. free wireless Internet- I get to surf the Internet and fall asleep doing it with two seats 4. friendlier bus drivers- no cranky folks- since they have a limited # of stops to stop at, they tend to be in better spirits. 5. Quite often cheaper than BART 1 way. $4 one way. Now if you live in Fremont and take the transbay, that is a steal! Get their monthly transbay pass and save over half your BART commute bill! 6. Love the translink card. Just press and I'm in. No need for change or bills. 7. On Time- With the advent of cell phones, no one is ever on time. You can, however, count on these buses to be on time and to leave on time! (literally....) 8. Comfy seats- they recline! oh yes! there is a reading light! yes! now they just need to put in "mood" lighting and they can be a road version of Virgin Airlines
