But it was clean, well maintained on the inside. And we used it with care, so nothing broke. The green areas around the buildings are also well maintained and mowed regularly. Snow plowing was always on top, done whenever necessary. Speaking of old: the A/C-furnace was *CRAZY* noisy. It's an old super loud engine inside your house! Eventually you'll learn to live with it, but noticing it is unavoidable: it's a small apartment. The only way to damp the noise would be staying inside the room and shutting doors. Mara, the manager, is smart and friendly. But office staff is regularly overwhelmed. Constantly putting out day-to-day small fires. And as they're running a business, they're after each cent you owe. Absolutely no rounding down cents. - "So you need to extend your moving another 3 days? Sure, no problem. Here's a prorated charge for a full week." Another source of income (for them) are covered garages. The garages are rented separated from your apartment contract. So for an extra monthly fee you can have a place to park your car nearby in a designated roofed spot. Or you can park wherever spot is available in front of the buildings - first come, first served basis. If a next door neighbor decided to throw a party, you'd have to park pretty far from your place. They also make money being middlemen between tenants and utilities providers, adding their "admin fee" here and there. This is not hidden, they're clear upfront before you sign the contract. Still, it's a bummer of several fees littering the final monthly leasing price. Speaking of which, they have a crazy pricing model based on demand + advanced payment: if people are willing to rent there, prices go up on a daily basis until you close your contract, and if you're willing to secure a lower contract, you should pay it in advance. Again: it's not shady, nor unfair. These are their rules, presented upfront. It's up to you to accept them or not. We have arrived one month before 2020 lockdown so we were lucky to have our stuff settled down before that. On the other hand, pool, gym and community areas were closed for a year, so I cannot assess them. Maintenance crew was always courteous and responsive too. Except when it involved the exterior of the apartment. Our rear deck had some nails constantly poking out (from the natural movement of the construction itself), and several rusted heavy duty staples dangerously poking out (see photos) just waiting for someone to walk barefoot. I had to remove them myself after a couple of months as the crew ignored these exterior calls. Also, the main entrance door that was heavily skewed and out of alignment: I fixed it myself as I knew how to. The water heater and laundry room were tiny but functional and dependable. Also dependable was the noise isolation between apartments. Each building holds 8 apartments: 4 downstairs, 4 upstairs. We lived upstairs and our neighbors were mostly quiet. Whenever the next door neighbor decided to play loud music, it was barely noticeable - except their bass, that came through walls. So, overall it's a nice place to settle for a while: it's safe, well maintained, administered by great staff. But don't forget: with a incredibly crazy noisy loud A/C-furnace system.

If you have an unexpectant death (be it you, someone in the apartment or immediate family member, etc.), work transfer, financial hardship, or even a mental health or physical disability, they may not renegotiate the terms of your lease. They may not deviate from their interpretation of the lease and not discuss further even if your attorney has a different interpretation of the lease. Your only option is to continue with the lease as they interpret it, spend thousands of dollars going to court or walk away which they will then turn you over to a collection agency. Do not sign their lease unless you feel 100% confident you will not have any serious emergencies that may require you to make adjustments to the lease.

Hallways and garbage areas were frequently dirty and smelly, outdoor trash containers were often overflowing, and dog waste was regularly left throughout the property. Dogs were also frequently off leash. I also had security concerns. Back entrances were often left unlocked, and my key only worked in one of the two entrance doors. On one occasion, I had to call the police because intoxicated neighbors were physically fighting on my patio. The laundry facilities were limited and expensive, and some dryers damaged my clothes even on the lowest heat setting. The studio itself had poorly insulated windows and doors, which contributed to high electric heating costs. The kitchen cabinets were also old, worn, and in poor condition. The fitness room, BBQ area, and other amenities were disappointing for the cost of living there. Most disappointing, however, has been the handling of my security deposit. I left my studio in pristine condition, handled my move-out responsibly and respectfully, and believed I was leaving on good terms. More than 45 days after vacating, I still have not received my security deposit. I contacted both property and leasing management multiple times seeking clarification and resolution. Despite my efforts to resolve the matter directly and respectfully, my most recent communications have received no response at all. A little transparency, communication, and respect from management could have made my experience end very differently. Unfortunately, based on the property conditions and the way my move-out and security deposit have been handled, I cannot recommend this community.

It has a plastic shell over what seems to be the GROSSEST wall ever. Constantly having pieces of brown rot come through as you take a shower. The water here is well water, that is treated with salt. So the water is undrinkable, ruins your clothes in the wash, and makes dishes in the dishwasher disgusting. And here is the best part. My car had this orange sticker on it. Saying I will be towed or booted at my expense. I went to the office and they told me they will tow my car in two days if I didn't get my license plate sticker renewed. Yes, it was expired by 3 months. Something I overlooked. That is completely my fault. But what right do they have putting a sticker on my car, threatening to tow me because of a license plate sticker?!? My car is a 2012 Toyota Camry, that is in great shape. Not a beat up jeep with all my belongings in it. (see other review for this place) Or an old beater on three wheels with no plates.The woman in the office acted like I screwed up. And it was infuriating. They need to act like a REAL apartment complex, and assign parking passes. Not send your maintenance guy out on a witch hunt for cars with expired plate stickers.
