I enjoyed my day exploring the books, I was helped by very nice employees who seem to love working there and I would happily return. They had some really good prices on journaling materials and other books were also marked down. I didn't find what I was looking for but I did discover so much more.

We stopped by to kill some time before our movie, and I decided to grab some snacks before we leave. The cashier who took our order was not very friendly, and not surprising either given past experiences here. After waiting for a bit, our bakery items still hadn't been handed to us so I went to check. One of the baristas (I believe her name was Courtney?) didn't acknowledge me at first and curtly asked if I had already ordered. I explained that we had a movie in 10 minutes and just needed our bakery items. Instead of simply grabbing them for me, she responded with a rude attitude saying orders are processed in the order received. I would understand if I had ordered a drink but I was just waiting on cookies and a brownie, something that takes zero effort to grab. The interaction could have been handled much better and unfortunately this level of service seems to be the norm here. That being said, aside from the unfriendly baristas, this Barnes & Nobles is clean and well organized.

Stopped in for a little blast from the past nostalgia. It's been 12 years! Checked out the magazine rack.

I really liked this store, I'm so disappointed but now that it's awkward, I won't be returning…read more I've reached out to Customer Service. This is a self checkout store. March 11 Holy cow, one wrong transaction and an employee is taking her anger out on me in store, in front of other employee and customers because another employee redid my transaction after the First employee said she could not. When I told the Second employee what was said earlier she scrunched her face up and said "that wouldn't happen". Long story: I was looking for a specific item, the stores' app said 4 were in stock (it now says low stock). So I go in, First Employee is helpful in finding the items or letting me know they're out of stock, after I search first. So I go from Bartlett to Millington to find the item, find it! Excitedly checkout. Return home and realize it wasn't 50% off because I thought lawn stuff was and they just didn't have signs out. I load the items up, talk to First Employee and she checks to see if the items sold here are ringing 50% off, yes. She tells me we can return them and ring them up. I finish unloading and she's come out on the phone to let me know they're the only store doing half off lawn stuff and they can't redo the transaction because it will hurt their sales. I'm a little disappointed but understand. Load them back up. A few hours later my spouse gets home, I still have the items in the back of my car and ask his opinion. We find something cheaper that looks exactly the same. So I get back in the car, my now third visit here, fourth if you want to count the drive to Millington, so I can return it because I'm not driving back to Millington when this one is 3 miles from me. I come in, Second Employee comes to the checkout to help with my return. She asks if there's anything wrong with them"they're fine, I found something cheaper." I told her about that morning and coming home to find out they weren't half off and then she scans them and says they're half off and then I go on about the shpeal I was told earlier by First Employee and she said I don't know about that and offers to redo the transaction if I still want them. So we do. THIS morning I go in because I've never had yearly outside decorations before so I want to piece together an urn style planter...I find everything I need, I measured everything to make sure I got it right I was so excited. I start walking to the register and First Employee has this glare even though the other times she's usually saying hi. I think nothing of it, everyone has bad days. I'm checking myself out another employee is asking if I need help mentions the 50% off and First Employee says "only this store". I perk up and say "yeah we figured that out yesterday." That's when she looks at me and says "you came back yesterday and redid the transaction after I told you we couldn't." "I came to return them and Second Employee offered." "We got in trouble for it and I already told you we couldn't do it." "I was returning them because my husband found something cheaper." At this she obviously did not believe me as she said "I'm sure" with what looked like an eye roll. I told her to look at the security footage and that I told the truth to Second Employee. She said I wasn't in the wrong but yet kept repeating we got in trouble for it. She walked away angry, left me feeling bad even though I didn't do anything wrong except try to return items and the employee assisting me said she's never seen First Employee like that. I tell her "I can bring them back. I wasn't trying to get anyone in trouble." And of course then I notice there's another customer who got to witness the whole thing. In the end I should have just returned them the minute she said we cannot redo the transaction. Second Employee seems to care more for her customers while First Employee cares about sale numbers. Completely unprofessional to blame your customer and actively discuss it in front of others. Completely stupid they got in trouble for making a customer happy!!!
