Unfortunately, we experienced several safety concerns while our children were attending this…read moreIvybrook location. Some incidents were not reported to us until months later by the owner. It took nearly 3 months for Ivybrook administration to allow us to view our child's records after our initial request, and Ivybrook only complied after a licensing inspector at the Virginia Department of Education Office of Child Care Health and Safety intervened to help us. Because of this ordeal Ivybrook was given a violation. As of the date of this review, violations have been found at Ivybrook in Midlothian during every inspection they have ever had since opening their facility, which can be found on the Virginia DOE website. We received conflicting reasons as to why safety incidents were not reported to us: the Director of Curriculum said she did not want to bother us, while the owner stated that she wanted to maintain anonymity. When we reminded the owner that incidents can still be reported while leaving out names, she then shifted to saying that she did not have enough staff to witness safety incidents involving children in her care. This entire ordeal has been traumatizing, but our family has started healing now that our children no longer attend Ivybrook.
