I requested 2 trees to be pruned. They did a good job! I will use the again, *if* they fix the oil leaks on their trucks! I just had my asphalt driveway sealed this summer and I now have unsightly oil spots. The guys were very nice. I tipped all 5 of them like I do when they clean up the mess, etc.; however, the emailed invoice gave tip options up to 40%! I called the company, requesting a quote on some tree trimming. I made an appointment for a representative to come to my home to speak with me about the job. While waiting for them to arrive, I received a text message from the company that the job would be $300. The tree they referred to in their trimming estimate belonged to my neighbor, and had nothing to do with the trimming I was seeking on my property. For some reason, they did a drive by and guessed at the scope of the trimming I needed, rather than talking to me about the specific work I was requesting. I certainly couldn't authorize the cutting of trees beyond my property, but that was what their estimate was based on. I called their office and complained that nobody had actually spoken to me about the work I needed done. They apologized, but then a few minutes later I got another text message with a revised estimate for $1300., still focused on my neighbor's tree! The estimator never did take the time to speak to me about the scope of the work I needed done. After such dismal customer service just trying to get a quote, I called another company that sent someone out who actually took the time to show up and speak to me! I have a tree which is needs to be cut down due to dead branches and proximity to the house. I called First Choice because my neighbor has used them previously and was satisfied. The estimator came soon after my call and gave a competitive quote. I called the office and scheduled a time for the tree to be cut. On the afternoon the tree was to be cut no-one came. At 2:00 PM that afternoon I called the office to ask if a crew was coming to cut the tree. There was no answer so I left a message. I also called the cellphone number for the First Choice estimator, got no answer and left a message. There were no return calls from either of those messages. I call First Choice the next morning at 8:30 AM which is well within their business hours. There was no answer. I called again mid morning and someone did answer the phone. The was an acknowledgment that my tree cutting was on the schedule. However, that person did not know why the crew did not come to cut the tree as scheduled. I was told that someone would call me back. I remained hopeful that a simple correctable issue would be efficiently resolved and a crew would cut the tree that day (the day after the originally schedule). I did receive a call back at 10 minutes prior to closing time for FIrst Choice. The rationale for the oversight was made and an offer to come the next morning to cut the tree. It's East Tennessee and the next day the forecast was for rain and windy conditions. At this point I had lost any confidence that anyone from FIrst Choice would call, return a call, or show up at the scheduled time to cut the tree. I was assured that this was very unusual for First Choice. All I can affirm is that my experience started well but that was not the final result. First choice is always my first choice for my tree servicing needs. I've had to use them twice and I'm sure I'll use them again. The first time I used them I had a tree uprooted during a severe storm so I googled a bunch of companies and made calls. First choice came out to do an estimate and remove the tree the same day. They even raked up the yard where the tree was. So fast forward two months I had a tree limb fall during a bad storm and paid someone to only cut up the limb. So it stormed again and another limb fell ( when I got the estimate on the uprooted tree I was told vines on another tree was killing it ) I called a few companies and most never returned my calls and the one that did quoted me a ridiculous price so I said let me call first choice I liked them the first time. And I am not disappointed now. They cut the tree down and then ran it through the chipper so there's not a huge tree on side of the road waiting for the city to pick it up and then they raked to yard up.
