Cordially we were promised by the office manager, Andrea Butler that this matter and our concerns would be looked into. At this time emails were offered on our part to validate our concerns as proof of these issues, but the office manager declined them. When asked, it was disclosed that Ms. Hammond has 8 years experience and is not new to this profession. The office manager could not explain at the time why these errors were made by Ms. Hammond other than to add that the computer problems that arose during the time have been fixed. Yes, their computer system had many glitches and was down more than it was up during the time. Our matter addressed phone conversations and email communications between Tammy Hammomd and ourselves. The conversation ended with a promise to contact us again. Our initial review of Tammy Hammond was only acknowledged simply to appear that they care about their customers. It has been a month since contacting the Sonora office and longer than that after filling out the Academy Mortgage in house survey. It is obvious that Academy Mortgage as a company does not care about its customers and our concerns were unheard once the loan process was over. Their lack of response to our concerns shows that customer service is not top priority for Academy Mortgage and the Sonora office.

You gave us the green light, stating the loan was ready on Friday, when in fact, it wasn't. You requested additional documents on Monday, which contradicts your earlier assurance. I have all the documents to prove this. Please refrain from twisting the situation; the documents speak louder than words.

We made an offer to buy a home in Sonora and were referred to Fairway by our RE agent. Although the…read moreloan process was uneventful, there were numerous surprises at closing time. We were charged for approximately $6,000 for fees that were not applicable to our purchase. When we questioned the manager about the excess and unwarranted fees, we were given no clear reasons for being charged 6 months "pre-interest", undue property taxes, and homeowners insurance which we had already prepaid the entire years invoices prior to closing (and receipts supplied). We had over $10,000 in credits from the seller and the lender made sure none of that credit balance was applied to our loan. Additionally the appraiser they contacted to do the valuation made sure not to value the home correctly to enable Fairway to force mortgage insurance upon us as well. We provided all of this information to the title company prior to signing however the title company failed to comply with our demands and change the escrow fees they were instructed to charge us. All of the charges, fees, insurance, and prepaid interest we were charged boosted the profitability of the loan we were provided by Fairway to an exaggerated amount. After doing some further research, we have learned that these are regular business tactics with Fairway. If you are in the mortgage market and need a fair and honest lender, do not consider Fairway Independent Mortgage as they are neither fair nor honest with their clients despite any claims they make otherwise.
