Originally, I choose Dr. Michetti for one reason and that was that she had a stand alone office, not one that belonged to a large network like Kaiser or Medstar. I wanted a standard of care that I can't seem to find in those large networks. I am so thankful that I made that decision because now I have an amazingly wonderful podiatrist in Dr. Michetti. Her office is relaxed, clean, warm and inviting. Her support staff is friendly, helpful, caring, and very welcoming. As for the doctor, well, she is everything you would want your doctor to be. She is warm, engaging, helpful, relatable, and most importantly kind. I find her to be authentic, knowledgeable, caring, and understanding. I've never had a wait of any kind to be seen, whether it is in making the appointment or upon arrival. Not once, have I ever felt rushed or unheard during my appointments. She listens. She cares. She helps. I don't know what more I could ask. Honestly, Dr. Mitchetti is the standard by which all doctors' offices should be based. She got it so right. I happily drive almost 30 miles to see her. Following a freak accident that involved a slab of slate (from garden retaining wall) falling on my foot, crushing my big toe, I sought immediate medical help. Urgent care had me waiting a couple hours only to send me to a separate x-ray facility. Went to said x-ray facility and waited another hour and a half to be seen. x-ray results were, "yes toe had fractures." No treatment. Went home kept ice on and took tylenol. (Excruciating pain!) Called Dr. Michetti who got me in to her office next business day. Took x-rays, got immediate results, got a "hard shoe type protection" for foot. The affected toe was taped to the next toe to hold still. Was given much needed pain medication and care instruction, plus compassion. Full healing took about 5 months, had regular followups w Dr. Michetti. The office staff, nursing/technicians, and the good Dr. treated me with care and kindness and compassion. Wonderful team!! Dr. Laura Michetti is an exceptionally passionate physician that has extensive foot and ankle medicine capability that includes also has experience in rearfoot reconstructive surgery. Additionally, Dr. Michetti is an excellent medical wound care specialist. Recently, I had a severe infection in my right foot's callous and Dr. Michetti responded immediately and the infection was cleared in less than a week. Also, a couple months ago, I was attacked by this vicious dog and both legs were bleeding. I immediately contacted Dr. Michetti and my wounds were taken care of faster than going to the Hospital Emergency Room. The best podiatrist in my opinion I have been to two others one wanted payment before he would look at my feet, the other when asked about how to prevent the beginning of a bunion from getting worse told me nothing could be done . Dr. Michetti suggested several things to delay or prolong the bunion from getting worse. I told her of other concerns and she had good suggestions and explained in ways I could understand. Upon discovering a minor fracture in my foot, Dr. Michetti provided treatment with a boot and continued to monitor my progress over several weeks. Her care was professional and comprehensive. The office staff were also very friendly and accommodating. Appointments were punctual, and the office maintained a high standard of cleanliness.
