They did an awesome job start to finish top to bottom on my house after a flood from an upstairs toilet that lasted the whole weekend we were out of town. Major Damage. New floors, walls, sinks, cabinets, sheetrock for 4 floors down. All new flooring plus remediation on the house for the water and mold damage. Great Job Highly Recommended. read more

I cannot possibly list all the things that this company did wrong so to make it short .. they tore out main low bearing wall and didn't put correct support back up , which was fixed after we seen it and told them to come back and fix it. Multiple caulking left with major holes around tubs and sinks. Corners of Sheetrock left looking like a major curvy road. Leaks throughout the plumbing. Sheetrock spread as if by a hand , very uneven then painted on. An electrical outlet ,in bathroom , they had cut the cover so it would rest upon top of Countertop backsplash instead of moving the outlet an inch up. I could list more but bottom line we kept sending the pictures to the person who was suppose to be overlooking this 40k job and he would argue with us , say these men are professionals and belittle us just because we asked for them to come and fix the issues. When I say a teenager could have done better , you can imagine the poor work that was done. We are left with lots still not corrected because he chooses to not step foot in our house , saying we are picky. When someone spends their hard earn money for a job to at least be done almost correct , that what they should get. Lesson learned. Hope others don't. read more

They were of a much better quality than I expected and look terrific. I've never seen a craftsmen be so meticulous on every aspect and so neat. However, the rate that i was charged at $180/hr for each person to put together 3 beds was ridiculous. This was not transparent in their quote. I was under the impression that would be $180 for both ($90/hr) which is still expensive but doable. $180/hr per person is more than a Union Contractor makes in NYC. The Handymen were just there to build 3 beds! The price was insane and i will NEVER use them again. If you wish to use them, please make sure they provide you with a detailed breakdown of the costs (not just a per hour quote) so you are not surprised like i was.

I reviewed with Andrew my "drawing" that I had done and we sat down with each area and talked through what could work and what might be a challenge. Andrew is very creative and also so easy to work with. And he was VERY patient with me, working with me when I had to be out of town, and I totally trusted him to do the right thing with the smaller items, but for the larger items, he was willing to rearrange his schedule with other projects to allow for me to be here when he handled the them. (I know that wasn't easy on him!) He does almost all the work himself, and is very precise, with great attention to detail, very trustworthy and highly professional. I have referred him to a number of our neighbors - and always happy to give him a good recommendation to anyone who is interested in hearing more! Our deck is picture # 3 in his photo library, but as soon as spring comes, check back for some GREAT pictures!) On a personal note we haven't had great experience in the past with this sort of work. People never seem to care about the work they do and cut corners whenever they can. Hello! I am the owner of First Choice Renovations and remodeling and I would like to comment on the review below by Teresa J... I am very sorry that she is unhappy but the complaints listed were unfounded. This job started with her boyfriend that I was dealing with his house and it was going great until Teresa moved in two weeks early and was very hard to deal with from day one. We went way beyond what we were contracted to do and their house is beautiful! Like I said, I'm sorry that she was disappointed with a few tiny aspects of the job, This was a pretty major job and to have a small amount of sheet rock issues is very normal. I told them that I would not come back to the job after they berated me and treated me very poorly. read more

Had First Choice Renovations and Remodeling replace 2 fiberglass insert showers with tile and frame less glass doors. They did a great job for a reasonable price and fast installation. I even had them replace a cracked window that Home Depot and another window company wouldn't touch. I have a friend that had them rebuild a deck that another contractor started and made a mess of the whole build. I highly recommend First Choice Renovations and Remodeling.
