I have put three dogs through the Coltrandi live in obedience training and I cannot recommend it highly enough. And my dogs absolutely love going there. From traumatised rescues to my most recent dog that went through training (Pembroke corgi) they all come back to me happy, healthy, smelling lovely and are amazing with obedience. My dogs love all the staff. My corgi was so excited to get pats from Col it was like he was her personal doggy God or rockstar. And he's a rockstar to all the other dogs too. It's super sweet to see how much they love him and the affection and care he gives them. It's clear my dogs and all dogs that stay at Coltrandi are treated with love and kindness. Thanks team! The staff were excellent and kept me informed, they fed him extra at no cost in an attempt to counter this weight loss. This service gave me a high level of confidence that our dog was being monitored closely. The only concerning issue I had was the following. Upon drop off I was not allowed to see our dog to the booked private room. This did not give me much confidence I was getting what I paid for. Secondly, upon pick up my dog was obviously stressed, he had forgotten who he was and did not recognise us for the first few minutes. I doubt he would have been that stressed if he really did stay in the private room the whole time. I am suspicious he was kept in the general kennels that are loud and stressful.

Acacia Ridge Pet Resort is located in Willawong which is mainly a farm like suburb with plenty of space, occupied by other pet accommodation, plant nurseries or industrial businesses. The staff I have met here are very informative and helpful. They make sure you get as much information as possible and answered all the queries I had. They staff at reception organised for me to do a walk-through to have a lot at the facilities. Obviously the kennels were very loud. Some dogs either looked liked they loved it, or in major distress. Most dogs here are buddied up with another dog of similar size and temperament. Otherwise if you pay for the premium accommodations which is about $70/day on peak time, the dog can stay in a small air conditioned room with TV and big sized bed. They do not allow you to bring any of your dogs toys or bed, but if you wanted your dog to eat their usual food, you will need to provide it as well as pay extra for this privilege. You have to pay extra for a lot of things including, personal playtime with your dog ($10/ 20 minutes), brushing ($6/ session), playing with a kong toy ($4/ session) and applying medication ($2.50/ day). I personally don't like the fact you have to pay extra for all these things. But the staff are lovely and I'm sure any dog would enjoy staying there either in their own room or share it with a room mate.

My research included driving out and having a look around at the kennel (these guys will happily show you around - tick) asking other friends who have had their dogs and cats stay and the final tick for me was when I asked my vet where he put his dogs. Yep. All roads pointed back to the Samford Pet Resort. They aren't cheap but the place is clean, with lots of staff and our doggy has always come back, happy, healthy and WASHED! I like that three is the option to get reports emailed to you, plus you can pay for extra walks and play time. The report card at the end of your pets holiday (always glowing for our pup of course) also says that each animal gets attention. They always book fast for holiday periods so plan ahead if you can.

Finding Paddington Pups was the result of a google search and a telephone call where a pleasant young man on the other end told me, "If you can bring him in this morning we can see him." I'd been searching for a new groomer for our pampered pooch after a less than desirable cut just before Winter. All I wanted this visit was a general tidy up, wash and dry (his visits to the salon sound all too much like mine!). Paddington Pups were able to see Dutch that day and it worked out cheaper than our usual salon. Cheaper doesn't always equal better but upon being reunited with my pup a few hours later it sure was in this case. The groomer had heard everything I said and trimmed his face without making him look like a dog without any facial hair. His feet were tidied and there was no great length taken off the rest of his coat. And while I'm yet to make use of it, they also have doggy-day care on site as well as a small range of pet food and toys.

The staff are always really nice and they sell BARF (food) which is handy and it's cheaper here then the other two options I have near my home. Some people think it's strange that my dog goes to daycare but it's important for his socialisation being a young dog. Also when you buy bulk you get a discount which makes it more affordable.

My cat seemed very happy when I picked her up. I had peace of mind to leave her for boarding because I could trust the vets and the nurses to feed her regularly and look after her emotionally and physically. The surgery is in such a convenient location , just off Milton Road, Toowong. I would board my cat there again.

I recently went here with a friend who's looking for a dog to adopt and was really impressed with…read morethe standard and organisation of this facility. All on the one block of land, there's the adoption centre and a big RSPCA pet store, where, if you adopt an animal, you can go straight away to stock up on things to care for your new pet. Upon walking into the adoption centre, staff are friendly and welcoming and eager to help if you have any questions about the process or need advice about what type of animal to adopt. All animals available for adoption are in the RSPCA database, so you can actually search online before going there. It's mostly dogs available for adoption here, but I saw some little guinea-pig hutches and a few cats too. The dogs are each kept in their own little room with a screen telling you their name, breed, age, with a little bit of information about their temperament and needs. Some of them have a half door open through which you can reach in and give them a cuddle. Adopting a dog from RSPCA will set you back around $300, but they come desexed and vaccinated, so it's pretty good value and you get to give a dog a new home.
