Something is wrong with this credit union rules. I have a car loan here. I in up to date with payments and I wanted to pay down my principal. They would not allow me to pay on my principal only. I asked the virtual teller and I was told I had to see a banker. So checked in and waited again. The teller could/ would not take the payment and the only explanation was it is not allowed. My answer is they are not for the customers. They want you to continue to pay the high interest and not pay your loan down. Beware of this credit union. I used the Alaina branch. I went here to open a business account for our family non profit organization. They have free checking account while the other large banks require larger deposit ($2,000) otherwise they would charge us monthly fee. Staff here went above and beyond to help me since I didn't have much time to wait around. Daniel Fernandez, Teresa and Ash were very courteous and helpful. They called me back on time when they said they would. I was able to open the business account without any hassle. I'm very grateful. read more

Stay away!!! Especially with car loans! I have horrible experience with this bank. I had a car loan, which I payed off and I had some money lest of the account, I am trying to close the account to get this money but bank is refusing to close it, since I moved to another state to live. Feels like fraud! They online banking is not working for changing the address for more than a couple of months and they know it. No help from managers. I would give a zero if I could. These people have sent in a notice that my credit card is CLOSED... My card isn't closed. This has been going on since Dec 1st 2023. I get to my bank in another state to to sign paperwork to purchase a home and FCCU reported my cred card was closed... I was recently robbed of a $500 deposit I paid to purchase a car. I paid the deposit with my debit card. The car was never delivered and the criminal disappeared with my money. I provided the credit union with a police report and the fraudulent paperwork the criminal gave me and they refused to do anything. I was told they can't do anything for me. This is the way they protect your money. They say your purchases made with your debit card are protected but when it comes down to it they refuse to get involved or protect your money. They had the nerve to send me a letter saying they had done an investigating and had determined that I had received the item I purchased, even though I provided a police report to the contrary. I asked several times to speak to a regional manager to get an explanation and no one has bothered to return my calls. They will not protect your money if you are scammed or money is stolen from you. This credit union is a joke and should embarrassed by the way they treat their members. read more

An absolute comedy skit. Tried to deposit +$11K in cash. Veronica coldly and quickly ran me out of her office to "use the machine". Guess I have to feed a machine for the next 20 min while she laughed in her office with friend. After 15 years we are done with this evolution to rude, zero customer service, too far capitalism. This is one of the top credit unions in the Cinco Ranch/Katy area. It's streamlined when it comes to banking. My experience here is that the wait in line is minimal. The teller you speak with services you via a kiosk that is similar to FaceTime. Everyone that works here represents what excellent customer service should be. Jose Olivares is one of the personal bankers at this location. Professional and very warm, wow, what a guy. My experience with him was positive and is representative of the type of people who work here. Friendly, welcoming and works well with any customer issues. FCCU does it again! Setting a new standard for illegal and immoral banking practices. Please see my prior review from Feb of this year which tells the tale of them stealing money from my child's savings account as an "overdraft protection" for a wholly unrelated account belonging to a completely separate customer for a car loan that didn't even exist. I truly should've taken my business elsewhere then, but they assured me up and down that nothing like this would ever happen again. Well.. this time it was my child's checking account that they've done the exact same thing to. Once again, stolen money from a child to pay for a vehicle loan that DOES NOT EVEN EXIST under a totally different member's account. And they want that other member to go in person to file a dispute on the matter, despite the fact that this is a documented issue. First Community Credit Union takes banking incompetence almost to an artistic level. If my child's money is not returned today, you will once again have to deal with me in person. I've been with them since I was 16. My entire family uses them! But we all agree they've become: 1) very impersonal, 2) way behind the times. It was kind of nice at first - to support a credit union and fees aren't like big banks, but then we noticed tellers went away. "Ok, I guess they're embracing the 21st century." But that just became extremely impersonal and de-valued us as customers. You would think that, if they're focusing on tech, they would have an app that's at least half as good as any of the big banks. more often than not, the app is more work than it's worth. We come to this bank a lot lol. The reports are really efficient, helpful and seem to love their job. Your always in and out swiftly and it helps when they engage in regular conversation. They ask about your day and make you feel like your at home just kicking it with your girlfriends or family members. This is a great bank and establishment. We have a few other banks that we love of course but this bank gives you that ole warm feeling inside even if you have to give away the money your receiving lol. This branch of first community credit union has a serious issues on dealing with customer service. I went there to open an account. I called first and ask what is require to open an account there in the credit union. The first thing they told me is they run credit like they do not need the business. OK fine. Then I went there to open an account with legal issue temporary TX DL. They told me that was not good enough. Hmm an legal issue ID by the state of Texas and recognized by every other bank as form of an ID is not good enough for them. But I understand and took my business somewhere else. This location is a complete joke. In December 2017, I got 3 different Auto Loans with this Credit Union. All of them were done over the phone and through the Internet. If I would have visited this location first, I would have never done the loans with them. If have been to this location twice now, and the employees are extremely lazy and just sit in their offices while clients stand around waiting for help. If you do happen to go up to an employee and as for assistance, they act like they are too busy to assist you. Customer Service really needs to be taught to this staff. Shame on the branch manager, for allowing the staff to be this lazy. read more

Tried to get ONE payment differed on our mortgage because our household contracted COVID19 and had to quarantine for two weeks. They said it was not an option. They are truly some heartless people if they can even offer some assistance. We pay extra each month and have never missed a payment. It's truly pathetic. No wonder this place has 2.9 star rating. I would take my mortgage somewhere else but I don't want to go through all the hassle of re-financing. But I will be moving all my other accounts. read more

FCCU will not waive a $15 over the phone fee during a pandemic. They would rather their employees be exposed by people having to go into branches to make payments. I expressed that I am an ER nurse with multiple Covid exposures and they still would not waive the fee. I am trying to protect their staff but they are not willing to budge. read more

Students graduating will receive an offer from this credit union for a $100 deposit into their new accounts when opening an account. My daughter opened her first account here. She regrets the decision. Many types of deposits are held 7 days. Account balances online and on app are not expedient and First Community recommends calling by phone to check the "real time balance" before making transactions if you are unsure of your account balance. Overdraft fees are $28 per item. And if closing an account the balance will be mailed to you and will take approximately 7 days. No complaints about staff, they were fine and helpful. read more

This is for the Cinco Ranch Blvd, Katy, TX office. I went in for some business, signed in and then Steve signed in right after me. We both sat down and then I heard "Stee". I was 3 ft away from this young girl's office. So Steve jumped up and went into this girl's office. So I found out she was really calling me, but neither Steve nor I could make out what name she called, because he jumped up and went into the office. When I went into her office, I was upset & asked her why she took Steve 1st. She said "I called your name" and not only that the other man in another office called me also. I did not hear either one of them say my name, just "Stee". She did not even give me a sincere "I'm sorry" you didn't hear me or also laughing & saying, I know what you mean, it is hard to hear with these masks. She didn't do any of that. She was accusatory of me, that it was my fault I didn't hear. The whole situation would have been defused, but no, she was defensive and said several times she called me. I assured her that if she had called my name and I HEARD IT, I would have surely gotten up and came into the office. I advised her I could not hear due to her accent, her low tone of voice and the mask. I also advised that I heard her & another employee talking behind closed doors about me. I heard RAISED voices stating "I called her..".. This is a customer service. NO NO!!! big time. There was no welcoming Hi, How are you?, Thank you for coming!. What can I do for you today? nothing, The other man came into this girl's office to defend this girl & said he would tell me to leave because I said I couldn't hear her due to her accent. I said why, I was speaking the truth. This is the complete direct truth, not racist, not derogatory.. just the truth... nothing but the truth. If a person wants to work with customers they need to know how to communicate with people, with their voices, actions, and attitudes. This office has no professionalism, no friendliness, no welcoming attitude. These employees need a lot of training. I, the customer for over 30 yr. & with a lot of business with FCCU, was being attacked by these employees. Instead of saying I am sorry... they were defensive and treated me unfairly. I am giving them only 1 star, "EEKS, I think not". Do not go to this office!!!! The Dairy Ashford and Sugar Land offices are wonderful. Very accommodating, friendly and professional.
